I'm trying to write a full story to play out with the joes I have and then take pics of it and kind of do a dio story but I struggle at the dialogue since I literally can't do the whole adults talking lmao I'm a literal manchild and I own to it but damn is hard to not come up with cringe dialogue. I guess it will all be mostly silent pics with a bit of exposition/narration text. I have most Act 1 (first movie in this saga) in a rough draft, mostly sentences of what is supposed to happen (the scenes?) and where and why but the meat of the scene, the dialogue is mostly non existent. It has been lots of fun regardless I recommend trying it as an exercise of the imagination.

That's what I do, however I have sort of the opposite problem with dialogue. I write it too understated, so it ends up seeming like it can almost be dropped entirely into any situation and I hate it. Usually just a lot of simple "yeah"s and things like that.

left is a glyos head on an old robotech matchbox sott bernard
right is a k3po body with swapped armes from shmi, some task force marauder hands from a black body that looks well as gloves, with a custom hobby base joint that has one end modified to snuggly fit in the head socket of the former original head with the head of an unlimits project. poncho is custom made, forgot where gun came from. glyos head can wear the helmet. I want to some day make custom legs for pony girl as her original motif was that of a centaur, so somehow have the legs bend back, with additional front legs opening up and the lower shins extending to create back legs.

it's kind of expected. It's a small company and they honestly do pretty great customer service.
I have been with them as a customer since I guess since they started. (nothing big order wise ever but steady.)
I really think they have done a lot to help out Joe fans. (sort of like methadone)

Yeah, 21st figures are pretty lousy. Agree on the vehicles, though. I miss them. I wonder if they're gonna surge in price once Marauder's figures hit and people realize they want vehicles. Latecomer's tax on them has been harsh for years.

On the topic of vehicles, I saw the Chap Mei/true Heroes AC-130 rebranded at Target today, and I want to say I saw the CH-53 at Wal-Mart yesterday.

I use the hotglue technique to make new heads but I dont know where to find brands/cheap available toys/mini dolls for that with the correct head size

Hi /toy/ I need your opinions here. I'm planning to build a small squad of future themed soldiers for bunch of dio-stories I have planned out.

My goal is to have a squad inspired by aliens colonial marines and starship troopers (but generic IP, so no SW stormtroopers) to do serious shots of barracks life, fighting aliens, some comedy, abusing civilians and urban life.

I have narrowed it down to 3 choices. Can you guys give me opinions on which 1:18 soldier to buy?

Choice C: Acid Rain plus MTF WW2

The logic behind this is that I already have 3 Acid Rain marines and I can augment them with MTF WW2 soldiers because they look somewhat similar (and acid rain marines are expensive by now) - I can give them all headswaps and a bunch of MTF armor for uniformity.

Are those each different licenses? If thats the case they still should have shelled out for everything, they could have held a monopoly on phantom/flash gordon figures. Thats alot of dosh to loose out on.

Currently have the tank transport of this russian vehicle coming to me.

Will be buying Red Hood and Elder Predator, along with Acid Rain's Prospector within the next week.

For Star Wars I'm getting more shore troopers and rogue one storm troopers.

I have a whole bunch of these guys and honestly love them. They're so weird that they actually feel like something out of classic Cobra and not the modern movies. And they're perfectly generic and anonymous. Plus they come in a few different colors (I think silver, red, gold, brown, and purple?) to make easy rank or job distinctions for whatever you want.

Anyone here have this? I'm wondering how well her skin tone matches up to Marauders heads. I ordered the two pack because I've heard that Heavy Duty's body works well for making a Roadblock and this figure is also pretty neat, but that head is complete trash.

The Walmart dino command hit clearance I picked up the triceratops with an engine on it's back for $7. The dino and equipment is good. Even has mouth articulation. The rider is hot trash. All loose joints and the leg peg was weak and even after tightening it's still floppy. But whatever it was super cheap.

I've got bipolar and it's been a rough few days. So I've been driving around. Picked this up and another vehicle for five dollars at Walmart. The brand is kid connection. It's only molded in the black and beige. So I've disassembled it and I've primed it all black. I'll be keeping the treads black but adding weathering and some silver to the internal gears. I'm unsure what color I'll paint the main body. I'm also unsure if I'll keep the main gun on it.

Its weird. I've seen some heads get restocked but not much else. I'm still waiting for male multicam legs without armor to comeback and it hasn't. I've been keeping an eye out for about a year with no luck. Sucks about the all black body because I was just about to order one too.

I dont have the expertise and patience to wire lights myself, so they are battery operated puck lights.

Fun fact, the batteries are way more expensive than the puck lights. I had to buy high quality rechargeable batteries.

and they should do that *before* offering the more "realistic" heads.
Like, don't get me wrong I want to have the chance to have "differently abled" and "alternative lifestyle " figures and being able to actually buy stuff like normal wheelchars and tricked out fantasy "Lone wolf and Cub" gimicked chairs and baby carts is cool but baby steps in your progressiveness.
(the first mall company that *does* make accessories like wheelchairs will make a *limited* mint just because they do it first.)

I'd recommend Vortious too since i get most of my heads from him, but I also saw that AngelForge has a Naked Snake head that is pretty spot-on, haven't bought from them however. Don't think you'll find one painted though unless you ask the caster directly.

Like pretty much every 1:18 line, I can't get enough. I'm planning to get the Man in Black, Fireman, the Badlands Vigilante, and the bartender next. These are what I got so far.

I also got the Ranch Hand but I thought he looked too dopey so I'm using him as fodder. That guy on the left with the Marauder's head is made of a kitbash of him and one of the blanks. I might turn him into Arthur Morgan. I popped on some spare white shirt forearms from the Marauders suit guys. I'm going to pop off his feet and replace the Marshall's boots because it bothers me that he doesn't have spurs, I'm gonna add the collar from the fireman too. I'm going to make a Dutch van der Linde out of the Man in Black, leftover Ranch Hand fodder, and that loot bag with the bowler hat.

The soldier's head came from that package of heads but its the same as the fireman's. The hat was from a Wild Bill. As you can see, I finally got it to fit-- I just hit it with the blowdryer and stuck it on there and the hole expanded.

Sup. Any tips for getting better articulation out of the arms here? I tried a pop and swap with Marauders forearms but those pegs were too small for the holes in the biceps and would fall out. I also tried just the hands, but then the pegs were too long and losing the glove cuffs looked weird; also a bit too loose.
She's supposed to be anti-armor but can't hold a bazooka/rocket launcher.

I think so. It was a tip I got to fix a Lego mini I found in a parking lot. Just bought the first varnish I saw in the store. You can always test it out on something before you use it on the peg hole, probably best to go light til you get the fit you want. Also let it dry before you put the arm in

So I'm building 2 factions at war with each other but I dont want to use established IP's such as joe vs cobra or rebels vs stormtroopers. I need them to look iconic and distinct.

Preferably one side is a human empire and another side are the united colonies composed of human rebels and alien allies.

Cobras easily. There's so much variety in army building those. While for Joes it's usually comes down to five army builds (Ultimate Duke, the soldiers from the first wave of G.I. Joe Retalition forgot the names of them but they were in the final wave two-packs at TRU, Pitt Soldiers from RoC, and the five-pack TRU Joe grunts vs. Firefly.
