A thread for discussion of fashion dolls including Barbie, Disney, Wild Hearts Crew, LOL OMG, She-Ra, DC Super Hero Girls, Living Dead Dolls, Licca-chan etc but not BJD.

That doesn't count. Those dolls are glamorizing ghetto girls. Real ghetto girls can't afford to look like that unless their bfs sell drugs. That outfit looks like something Jennifer Lopez would show up wearing to the Mtv VMAs or something. I'm thinking of something more realistic like what black girls in the projects actually wear. The white trash doll line posted above are more real because they were not trying to glamorize poverty.

I'm really sorry, anon. If I could have sent her your way I would have. I bump into at least 8 new Monster High dolls every week all priced at $1. Most of the dolls have factory perfect hair. They look so perfect that you would think they had never been played with. They usually still have their shoes and outfits. I always think of this thread when I find them because I know some anons her collect them. I don't collect MH dolls myself, but I'll sometimes buy a few because they are only $1 and they look so new. I can only imagine how many dolls other people find every day that I would die for, and they just leave them behind as if they were trash.

Where do you live, out of curiosity? I am a collector and never buy things specifically to resale, especially at the bins, but I have been perceived this way due to my adult age and enthusiasm for certain items. On the west coast vintage toys seem far more plentiful in general than where I live now - SW PA. Thrift culture is definitely different here.

About an hour away from a Disney Park. It's a really odd community where rich people who live in multi million dollar mansion homes live just a few blocks away from ultra poor people who need government assistance, and rely on church food donations to survive. I sometimes see them waiting in 3 hour long food donations lines to get a small bag of expired supermarket food donations.

Has anyone bought any of the shoppies/chunkier shopkins playsets like the new doll scale food they’re putting out? I love the shoppies but I’m hesitant on buying what’s essentially props... but everytime I see them in store I feel like a child, I just want to get my hands on them and “play” with them... do they have any appeal for adult collecting? And here's the doll with all the accessorizes the she come with, I added one regular capsule as an example.

The random look is absolute garbage, nothing matching and most stuff I got were the worst options.

Take a look at her hair, not just the style of it, but also the color makes her look like a fucking granny. Who the hell thought it was a good design?! No, you can't remove the flower part as you would expect from toyline that advertise itself as having mixing gimmick.

As already mentioned nothing really match, worst offender is the random purple plastic molded watch which is boringly designed.

Her face is the only thing I like about her.

The plastic colors of the body parts are mismatched; her limbs are the most bendable-gummy plastic while her head is the most hard one and oh boy it is heavy on her cheap little flimsy body. The torso and the bottom part are in between these too both color and hardness wise.

Her hair is also made of a gummy plastic especially the front part which doesn't close that well on her head (it works sort of like figma face swap system) and can be too easily removed.

P.S. she does have a neck, but can be barely seen and still too short imo

I still can't comprehend how Garret Sander was fine with this garbage and took part in making it. Even the shoes aren't as awesome as good ol' MH shoes.

On another note, thanks for this toyline being "hyped"/shilled hard it already arrived my country while we barely got Shopkins Lil' Secrets wave 1 REEEEEEEEEE

To conclude, avoid at all costs. However I am still tempted to get the non random deluxe ones, they're neat looking and have fabric skirt/dress which also means their body can be fully connected unlike the absolute trash I got.

This pisses me off as well. Shes so cute, and I was actually thinking of getting the set this year since the Frozen sisters got kicked out to make room for other princesses. I already have Pocahontas, Rapunzel, and Ariel. You're losing money at that point, along with all the time relisting it while it sits in a closet, not moving sales wise.

Not sure. I've never sold anything on ebay. I was trying to buy the set about a year ago before the 30th Anniversary hit and prices went up so I was checking ebay for it a few times per day, when I noticed him doing this. He would list it, leave it up for no more than a day or two, until it "sold". Than he would relist the exact same set again within a few hours, but would bump the price up by $50 each time. I ended up getting my set from a local seller for $160, but noticed him relisting the same set, with the same images, and the same description at least 4 more times after I bought my set before he reached $400, and sold it.
