Okay guys. I think that Mindstorms is getting out of production. You can't buy the Intelligent Brick directly form LEGO anymore, and also they released the LEGO Technic Control+ that connect through bluetooth...

It's still not a script language like the LEGO one, but I can totally see the new Mindstorms being controlled by the Smartphone.

What do you guys think? LEGO is taking to long to release EV4 and with two motors that can connect wirelless to the smartphone.

I think that the next intelligent brick will be one "receiver", just like LEGO Technic Control+

The controller can detect tilt and control the speed and direction of the wheels.

Compared to Mindstorms it's only missing the sensors, that can be easily done by LEGO, and of course, a port of the Mindstorms script language to an App.

That would probably make the set much more cheaper too. And everyone has a smartphone today.

What do you guys think?

Maybe they'll "kill" the Mindstorms and start to port stuff to the Control+. Anyway. I think that Mindstorms is dead.

I think the game is in a terrible situation currently, with the new 2-2-2 system fucking everyone up. But sure, getting the skin isn't difficult, just win 9 matches and it's yours.

Also, I'm really surprised by those colours! Very 70s retro. Maybe the skin is done by a real boomer.

might as well grind for this, but the skin is honestly really bad. So many impossible connections, non-existent pieces and I think a few weird dimension changes. All that when they just had to copy the set or get someone to slightly alter it to work within the game

FYI those are called "towball" pieces, and if you aren't aware of Bricklink, it's the easiest way to get them in bulk short of ordering them directly from Lego (which is possibly cheaper depending on which specific pieces you want):

So who here is excited for the new "kid content" policy Youtube is going to put out that's going to maim not only Legotubers but toy channels as a whole? If you don't know they're basically blanket catagorizing any channels with child/toy related content as kids content and will be removing comments, like bars, and notifications for the videos. This is going to cripple channels like Jang.

Within the week I will post my guard tower. It’s a castle type moc that’s been YEARS in the making.

It started out as a d&d slice of life where instead of hardcore adventurers the PC’s were local villagers conscripted into the service for the singular goal of watch tower keepers.

The city itself was protected by mountains on all sides save for the singular gate/watch tower. As each villager had a unique job prior to joining they each livened up the old post in their own special way.
At the end of the campaign I realized the best way to really bring the setting and each character to life was by recreating the watch tower with LEGO. It’s hard to account for the change in gear and weapons using the usual plastic models.

I spent a while doing this and I want to do it justice.
Using the lighting setup the kind anons have posted I’ll try and capture this work with the care it’s due.

Speaking of, few threads ago one anon suggested to make a car for Adventurers. Here's my project. Based on 60s-70s Land Rover. Seating all 3 original Adventurers and there's one more free space for either Harry Cane or Mike from Dino Island. Added front-mounted off-road winch and there's still space for a classic crate in the back, of course.

No, doors back and side windows frames are not. If you want to make it green you have to change doors to something like pic-related and use white frame in the back instead.

If the pieces for the monkeys are listed on Brickset's entry for the set that has them, write down the seven-digit part number for each piece and give that to the rep.

I think it's from a knockoff company. I occasionally see stuff with minfig torsos with sculpted hips and prints that never would have been approved. I think there are some small time dealers who managed to fly under the radar and are providing a bit more anatomically correct klocki for more unique tastes.

There are two 'jumper' 2x1-to-1 plates underneath handbrake lever. Check back seats to see the whole structure. Minifig is basically attached by one stud. The idea came from 2000s Harry Potter flying car where figs were not attached at all. This is an offroad car so they have to sit tight.

Hello LG! If you'll allow me I have a small story to share - a story from way back when I was just starting to get back into this hobby and a story that started then and reaches out to today.

So in 2016 when I first started getting back into LEGO I visited these LG threads somewhat less regularly(would usually read through 2-3 threads then stop and wait for more) - during those visits I found two images of a particular ship (pic related) which I've never been able to find anywhere else on the internet. I saved the pictures and now, a few years later, with the help of someone from this community ( a nice Anon that helped me with LDD since I'm LDD-impaired) I've managed to build that exact ship.

Might not seem like much, but it was you guys that helped me stumble upon it, and it was one of you guys that helped me get the parts and get it together. Looking at it sitting on my desk it feels like a gift of sorts.

If you happen to know who made this or where it came from please let me know.

Thanks LG - for being a good community and a nice place to come to.

You just made me realize what a problematic faction I’ve made:
Faction is overtly and overbearingly white – wants to colonize space.
Ship looks aggressive and is heavily armed with what seem to be military grade fully automatic assault ship-to-ship cannon-15s.
Faction is patriarchal since the privileged position of pilot is held by the male astronaut who is obviously oppressing the woman and robot minority.

I dread to think of what will happen once they encounter some poor alien species, especially ones operating outside the law.

If the seller has the pieces, there's a pretty good chance he'll just send you the replacements for free and let you keep the originals.

The only times I've ever had a seller refund a piece instead of shipping it to me is when I bought something from overseas.

I got the Grievous off of Bricklink for ~£20 which is a pretty decent price considering what you get. It came used and without the instructions but otherwise it's pretty much now it would have come if i'd bought it new for twice as much from a reseller.

One thing I think would be great is if Lego were to do their own spin on Spider-Man, a bit like their spin on Batman.

I was a Marvel fan back when Marvel meant "comics". The movies have been decent, but I hate how much "space" they take in popculture.

As for Lego sets, I think they are a good fit. I don't buy them, but I can see why others would. However, unlike with movies, I *don't* think they drown out other stuff. Whether or not Lego makes those sets, we still get something.

The biggest issue I have with the Marvel sets is that most fall into the "I only bought this for the minifigs" category and this year's sets barely fit that bill, either, with the few exceptions being stuff like the large Venom or the hall of armors.

The closest Walmart has two boxes of Disney S2 but one is in the S19's green box. They sold out in less than a week. Normally it takes a little longer. The good news is that they have a sealed case on the top of the isle, but I'm not a mad lad enough to just open it for the 2 packs I want to buy. The other closest store is a Walgreens and they have Lego movie 2. They recently sold the last of their Simpsons S2 bags. I'm going to go hunting in the next few towns to see what the situation is.

The hips that should've been balljoints but kids during playtesting were too retarded to pose them, the limited elbows, the tumor hands that are a trademark of the designer and last but not least the shoulder armor that blows my mind on so many levels:
So, they designed a new part specifically for THIS figure and for THIS purpose yet they thought that apparently the figure needed an additional 2x4 plate under the part for whatever reason.
a) why didn't you mould it like that in the first place and b) the figure looks better WITHOUT that extra plate so what the fuck was the point of all of this?!

What is the reason, then? I don't know much about lego, just a casual fan, but I have followed Overwatch ever since it was announced. It's a rather niche IP that's not exactly aimed at Lego's usual 6-12 audience plus they weren't released in normal stores until half a year after the initial Lego Store release and everyone who wanted the sets probably already got them from there.

It would certainly be interesting to hear about the reasoning behind some of those decisions. But I still feel that Overwatch is/was a better match for Lego, than WoW. Simply because WoW is fantastical, while OW is contemporary/scifi.

What kind of camera are you using?

Looks like you're using direct light; you can see the bulb on the printed brick under the balcony next to the cannon.

By adding a panel with center divider inside she can "sit" in the mech without sliding around. I had to raise the height of the cockpit by 1 stud to make enough space.
There's also a clip in the back to carry her gun.

The towers are cut in half from how they're made in the set. In the set there's angled walls on both sides to make a true tower, on mine half is tower and half is sewn into the castle so there were more angled walls available to make the tower taller. I also added windows down the center spline of it on both sides

And I rebuilt the tops of the towers so you can actually fit a minifigure inside. In the set, jumper plates are used to weirdly offset some of the top tower walls half a stud inward for seemingly no reason.

This is how the tops of the towers are made in the set. Seemes unnecessarily dense not just in terms of play value but also aesthetically / architecturally they look nearly identical outside without the half stud offset inside.

Have you guys checked out the Lego ideas IP checker? It's pretty neat

Also as a side note Friday the 13th and Nightmare on elm Street are nowhere to be found on it. I've always thought that if Lego were to do a R rated theme it would be one of those since it's pretty acceptable to let kids watch them. I like to be able to be part of a conversation so as they're fairly popular movies I do see the big releases. It's a little interesting and unusual that they've somehow managed to define their own criteria for success. Does it feel like a Marel movie? Fans will like it then. Maybe I'm just well in touch with my inner child. On the LEGO side you occasionally get some interesting things out of it even if the sets are kinda meh themselves for the most part. I liked the Spiderman ATM set and the Sanctum Sanctorum (good deal on that one).

Was able to get this a little early. Huge fan of Roadhog. Went to my local Walmart and they had 3 of them. It was worth asking for one like a sperg. Here's hoping the quality is good.
