New, slimmer arms. Not as much outward range as the previous arm design, but they have a bicep swivel and a deep elbow bend.

I bought Kai's mech jet today. I wanted it for the parts anyway, but the official build really disappointed me, especially that it doesn't actually transform or have any other play features.
So I decided to build a version that actually transforms from jet to plane.

Sadly build a fig is disgustingly expensive here, $20 Aus for 3 I think. So I sometimes sneak a few bits into my PAB cup because I'm a hardcore criminal.

the health bars are connected to the armour with lightsaber blades. The actual lifebar and the connection points for bars are one piece.
I really hope we'll get them in solid green, they'd make great street signs and could hold lamp posts together at the same time

Ok i know star wars is shit but i like the spaceship sets still.

I really like the new poe xwing color livery.

Next to last year's t65. I have extended the laser cannons on both, they were just a bit too stubby for me.

Picked out Jay, Bat-Mite and Huntress the other day. Unfortunately Huntress' cape is just loose in the packaging now, not even inside a plastic bag so I accidentally tore it when i opened the bag. Fortunately the Lego store guys let me get a new one.

Also very happy there was no price hike on these as was rumored.

The price only increased for the US since they have been cheaper there for a while. In Europe they've been 4 euros for several series now which is 5 bucks, so this is just bringing the US in line with the rest of the world.

My local store is having a sale, finally, so I bought two Overwatch sets: Dorado and Hanamura. Both were about 15 euros.

We have two Lego stores in Stockholm now for no purpose. One's gonna end up closing eventually because there's literally no way they can both survive. The one you want to visit is in Mall of Scandinavia in Solna, a short bit from the central station. Really good staff there. The other one is out in the burbs and has kind of off and on staff.

I look for Lego sales at an online store called webhallen. I'm not sure what country you're in but I know they can deliver to some other countries, you might give that a look. (The OW sale is over now though I think)

I honestly dislike the idea of using clear visors for NCS. It is not internally consistent with the way space themes worked after CS.

Usually a theme will have a canopy color and use visors of that color - this is true for the majority of space themes although there are exceptions. Still, I prefer NCS to not be an exception, and since their canopy color is trans-yellow I put trans-yellow visors on my NCS stuff.
There's a certain feeling of completeness you get when you sit a NCS figure next to his ship and the visor and ship canopy are the same color.
Also the use of fleshy heads is in my opinion a complete abandonment of one of the core fundamental elements of CS.

I find it really sad how most "pro" builders inherited something as fun, creative and unique as CS and only managed to make a cheap Star Trek knock-off out of it.

I really dislike the way only certain color schemes and combos from CS are considered "official" even though CS had a much wider variety of them.

I've seen so many people call their mocs "classic space" but completely missing the aesthetic, it seems like some really need such overly strict rules to be able to make their builds look like they fit with CS.
That said I think it'd be better to not have those rules, laugh at the people who are too stupid to understand coherent designs and appreciate the ones who build unconventional and sometimes convention breaking models but nonetheless manage to innovate and keep the aesthetic.

I was not aware. I find that to be a very poor choice in defining what NCS is. They picked a very narrow range of models to construct the rules around.

Also I do not understand their obsession with fleshies. The whole idea of CS was that the spacemen had a certain charm about them, a charm that meant you could pretend they were anyone. They were never supposed to be X or Y specific character.
Like I said, a lot of NCS feels like a cheap Star Trek larp to me.

I suppose it's one of those things I'll just have to accept, some people were autistic enough to make their own "super secret" club and that's fine - I just feel they picked out a set of rules that hinder creativity rather than support it.

Does anyone here have experience selling things on BrickLink? If so I have a question; should I bother keeping boxes from older sets (Late 90's-Mid 2000's ish). I want to downsize and sell some of my older sets I have no sentimentality towards and am in the process of finding and organizing everything into plastic bags with the correct instructions. Do boxes add any value/desirability to such things if I want to sell them? Obviously these are used at best with varying degrees of wear. I just want more space in my home.

I found this old toy car I used many years ago in my garage and I got it working again, however since there's no antenna on the car (similar to the one in the bottom of the picture which is used on the controller) I lose the signal within 6 feet-ish, so I was wondering if it was somehow possible to acquire a similar antenna from somewhere else and mount it to the car to improve the signal. Has anyone tried something like this before?

I realize it would be difficult to find such an antenna, but literally any new information about the toy car would be very much appreciated. I don't even know what it is called, so I barely know what to search for.

Yeah, i'm not too mad about duplicates of the dog girl, since it comes with two animal pieces. I think the only fig I actively disliked pulling was the care bear since its just a bunch of random colours mashed together, but I could probably use the head for something else. At least I didn't pull anything too generic like the firewoman or the rugby player.

Pieces are great to reuse for other minifigs, who doesn't love a handsome face, a unique helmet and a tool belt? The torso is really nice and makes a nice base for armybuilding (someone remind me to build these guys a van), and he introduced the saw mold.

Looks like it's a chain built out of 2L technic beams. Nothing too complicated going on. Getting them to undulate up and down along their path would be better but not sure if that can fit in such a small space.

Typewriter only has the 4 levers that move, not even from pushing on a key from the looks of it but from using the little crank. Just a really pathetic brickbuilt setpiece, meant to get some round Alphabet plates.

But an Age of Mythology style theme would be awesome. Even more awesome if they mixed in futuristic sci-fi overtones. Just imagine an Anubis nech for example. But since Lego is crestively bankrupt, something so kino won't ever happen.

Honestly I don't care about the theme but I wish they used this shooter more instead of the horrible stud shooter or the alright but not great small shooter they have right now.

Most imporant thing to remember about Lego trains is that they've changed the track system in the past. Old ones have the current running in the track itself, which moves the engine. Current stuff has RC. Track itself is more or less the same width, so you can mix and match, but naturally old ones don't really move on purely plastic modern track. As for where to start, there's been couple of trains in recent years you might still find in store shelves, but Bricklink and Ebay are your best bet if you want something more.

The boxed sets are probably the cheapest way to get started, I got 60197 for like $80 and it's nice apart from the ugly ass nose. Once you have that you can make nearly any locomotives you want pretty cheap.

Don't invest in 9V system, it's about 15 years discontinued now and prices will only continue to go up (just compare the prices of 9V track and the current full plastic track).

If you wish to become a more serious train builder, Power Functions is the most flexible system but it's just been discontinued last year. You can perhaps safely invest at least a bit into it (a battery box or two, receiver, a couple motors).

The new Powered Up system so far looks inferior to Power Functions, at least for advanced train applications (building your own realistic(ish)-looking rolling stock). But for a beginner it's going to be fine and it's got at least a few years ahead of it.

60197 is a good starter. BOTTOM LINE: it depends heavily on what you really want from Lego trains. Do you just want something to breathe some life into your Lego city? Or do you want to start modelling real-life train environment and rolling stock? Are the trains just a feature and something to run around the Christmas tree, or are you planning to build a station or a train shed or something similar?
