Are you talking about these? If so, I make them on 16x16 footprints and use the same technique as the large Creator buildings where the top of each level's walls are mostly tiles with a couple of studs on opposite corners to anchor the levels together.

Interesting... I suppose I should ask in here: I've been planning on using a small fog machine (the kind they sell at Halloween stores) to obscure the bases of these buildings. Can /tpg/ recommend a better approach?

Yes

And every few months I have to buy more Sterilite drawers to hold all the stacks (I can usually fit between seven and nine levels in a drawer depending on the protrusions)

Plus enough 16x16 plates and 6x6 panels for another one. Also I ordered 20 white doors direct from Lego because the cracklink price is ridiculously high for some reason (I think maybe most of the Friends sets tend to come with trans-clear doors instead of white ones). Now I have more doors than door frames. Also got a bunch of train doors because they make great service doors. I love their round shape and the big porthole window.
