I don't pop in much because I only buy two sets a year (the annual Christmas set and the annual Modular), but I wanted to know what you all think of the Corner Garage. I really didn't like it at all when it was first shown so I still haven't bought it. But I feel I need to out if principal, and it's kinda growing on me. I know I'll end up buying it anyway, but what are some thoughts on it?

The theme gets crazier with Time Cruisers as well. This was definitely Lego at it's strangest and dare I say, most Lego-like.

I didnt fucking know that they have been doing these since 2007. Im so mad at that I could have been building these since 2007 but now all of them before 2010 are around $600 now.

There have been far worse but the price hike with the modulars is getting on my nerves which is why I haven't bought this one yet.
Previously modulars could be gotten for around 100€ in special offers by third party sellers but now that store is winding down with its great deals.

Only modular I don't like all that much is the Palace Cinema which I feel should have had a 50s feeling, not chinese. Second place would be the Assembly Square because the builds are a bit too blocky to fit 3 builds on the baseplate.

Corner garage could have been better with a different color since we now have a repeat of Town Hall though I can't put my finger on what kind of earth tone they should have used without overthinking it.

So I bought some classic space stuff online and some of the Lego appears to be brittle. Is this still salvageable?

I didn't pay much but it would be a waste if everything starts to break.

So LEGO Towers by itself is a shitty wait-and-click game, but the 12x30 room designs are a nice inspiration. I think I'll make my own tower with the actual LEGO I have and design my own rooms.

I've only been to America, Canada, England, Turkey and Greece. From what I've seen America is always getting the cheapest stuff. Not to mention places like walmart where they have clearences all the time. Worst is my own country, Turkey. Barely any discounts and no new sets on the shelves.

I remember standing in line at the grand opening of the first Lego store in my area, and I decided to buy the Green Grocer. While waiting in the hilariously long line, I had at least 10 people comment about it. I already had Cafe Corner so I knew what I was getting into, and was telling people how amazing CC was and that they should totally consider both of them. Pretty much everyone was saying that as nice as it looked, they couldn't justify spending $150 on a single Lego set. Bet there's a lot of people kicking themselves over that one.

Nope. Turkey has this border issue where all packages that come from other countries must go through a approval process. And any place that isn't Amazon or a big name company gets sent back or gets stuck there. And Amazon pretty much offers the same prices we already have here. That means no BrickLink or eBay.

Which leads me to believe that maybe some /lg/uys are either extremely poor, and posting from one of their friends wifi connections or can't be asked to find a bargain because they're mega-lazy. I absolutely came up this after Xmas by keeping my eyes open, all within a 60 mile radius. A few choice bits:

>Praetorian Guard packs for $3 a pop. I got all 5 they had and it was still under $20. Walmart. 4/10 find.
>J.P. Raptor chase. A $7 steal. Also picked up Diphy on the loose, Pacie Breakout and Ptero Junior set. All rang up to under $25. Walmart 10/10 find.
>H.S. Grave, lab, shrimp boat under $40 for all. Walmart 150/10 find since these were all I wanted besides restaurant and had juicebar already.
>CMFs Disney 2, s19, and FB/HP. All were $1-$1.50. Bought out everywhere I seen them. Walmart 6/10 find. Had an ancient Harry's journey to Hogwarts hanging on a peg for $2. $30 for all.

That's just the beginning, when I get home and peruse everything I'll come back and post it all.

Is anyone still onto transformers? i tried to recreate barricade from the first movie, i kinda like it, sadly, because of the bulky arms, this guy can't fit a minifig inside, also, i wanted to give him the decepticon look, hence the overdesigned spikes and raptor legs, to give him an animal-esque/savage look, might make a "frenzy" figure to go along with it
ALSO, i kinda wanted to use pieces i had laying around because i want to build it sometime in the near future, that's why the hands and knees look effortlessly designed LMAO

For future reference, Lego's website often lists parts as being out of stock, but their phone reps have access to inventories that the website doesn't.

Yes but the thing about Bricks and Pieces is that it only stocks parts that are currently in production in a set. And depending on popularity some colors and pieces might sell out quickly. Once that part/color is retired it will quickly vanish. And while it might seem that there's a lot of pieces currently in production, it can rapidly fall apart if you're looking for specific piece/color combinations.

Not only are all the pleistocene animals not available, they have even been deleted from the set inventories so there's no chance of a restock. Also when the smilodon was available a year or so ago it was around 20 euros (so 25 dollars) which makes me suspect the mammoth was more expensive.

It's really depressing seeing how cheap toys are in the US and then seeing some american fans complain about prices. Like now they're whining that the DC CMF series "raised prices" to $5 a bag when it has been that much in the rest of the world for two years now.

Mammoths have never been listed as in-stock on the Lego website; that's why I used the phone system to get them.

I can confirm that the smilodons and other big cats (tigers, panthers, etc.) were about $6 each from Lego (Also listed as out of stock on the website but freely available through phone support)

The little ducks from the latest people pack were like $2 each though

I liked the garage section a lot, minus the disappointingly small sign build out front. I'm a big fan of Octan and I love how they themed it, although I wish it was a brighter green. And some cool details in the interior of the garage I thought the 2nd and 3rd story were a little boring though, and overall I feel like it ends up fairly bland. Not sure if it was really worth the money in the end, if I run out of space for my modular street it would be the first to get cut

I am working at unofficial Lego store and Ninjago and friends are always selling like hot cakes, but Hidden side has also suprisingly high sales to the point where it outsells superheroes and harry potter. Well I've seen a lot of the Disney CMF wave two clog shelves, but then again Lego often overproduces CMF series here and there.

As for Star Wars sets... I simply can't say. I still see some old force awakens sets here and there, I think the 40 dollar phasma set didn't sell well.

One store here still has couple of the smallest Angry Birds sets hanging around, full price. I also live in Finland where Angry Birds was fucking huge for a while. Doesn't help that those were fucking overpriced here. The ones still left are 20€ and 30€.

Sadly, Lego movie 2 set are selling really bad, besides Benny's squad . We still have dozens of boxes some even on clearance. Doesn't sound like big deal but the thing is that the owner is greedy as hell and rarely puts anything on clearance. Also the Mandalorian at-st is not doing very good. So far best selling set until christmas was the Harry Potter castle. But generally, mostly everything with wheels sells during whole year city/superhero cars sell good.
Today I was looking at our stock and was surprised to see that somehow Minecraft also sold out with me even noticing. I remember selling couple of Enderdragon sets two weeks before christmas, dunno what happened when I was absent. Now all that's left is one poor skeleton bigfig.

The worst star wars set from the new trilogy are definetly the First Order stuff that never made it on the screen, and where there's no good guy minifigs, like that weird FO Walker or the Speeder from the Force Awakens.

However this is their least selling one in my area. Went to a toy store mid december to check out Legos as the new Star Wars peaked my interest in them again, and the shelves were full of this, in fact, it was the only Star Wars set they had save for the big one such as the UCS and other $200+ sets.

Alright I guess this is every animal, except for horses which need their own bag. Unfortunately I found two crocs without an upper jaw and a dragon without a tail. The horn-less wampa is a yeti for all intents and purposes.

The guy in blue trunks is a champion boxer who was invited to a special match in Asialand City, but it turned out to be a ruse and his girlfriend in the front row was kidnapped by the billionaire.

First stage: Asialand City nightclub district streets. Boss special attack is hurling himself at you headfirst.

Second stage: Asialand City docks. Boss special attack is big fist and hair whip.

Third stage: Aboard a ship. Boss special attack is big fist and hair whip but you have to fight them both at the same time.

Fourth stage is a jungle. Boss hurls his two monkeys and you have to punch them to get them to stop harassing you and go back to him.

Fifth stage is automated diamond mine in the jungle. Boss special attack is extend-o-fist and a huge hitbar.

Sixth stage is hovership that sends a claw down to pick up a crate of diamonds and you ride up with it and then fight your way through the hovership. Boss special attack is punching the screen to knock the "camera" upside down and temporarily blinding the player (but he telegraphs his move).

Seventh stage is New York City after you crash the hovership into the top of the Empire State Building and fight the billionaire on the balcony. Endboss doesn't have hitbar; you have to uppercut him to knock him over the balcony for an immediate win, but he can do the same to you.

When it comes to the Harry Potter sets, my local supermarket stocks a limited variety of Lego, and the Harry Potter stuff is always left over, and reduced to a stupid degree. Shit, when I did Killer Spiders from Outer Space, I got 3 Arragog's Lair sets for half price. I made the money back selling the figures to a local Lego dealer. (Well, he swapped them for brick bundle bags. Thank you, Based Brent)

I also picked up the Jedi Starfighter and Hyperspace ring for half price, too.

They used to have better printing even on dark pieces. Now they just produce and produce without much efford. I prefered the time when there were nameless astronaouts/pirates/knights and the only heroes who had names were lego original heroes like Johnny Thunder.
But I don't blame Lego. I blame consoomers who are willing to pay hundreds just for exclusive figure and then throw it on the pile with the rest of figures and call it collecting. Why they do this is beyond me, because if you want collect shit from moviec/comic go and buy action figures.
This is why we have so many shit sets nobody asked for , but everyone buys it because it has 'that character' even though the figure looks like shit.

Two flat 1x4s, and one of those pieces with 1x2 on top and 1x4 on a 90 degree bend. Fill up the gaps on the top sides with flat 1x1s.

yes you could stick something with a rod into the pins and attach the rest of the rod to something else to secure it; of course this adds a lot of stuff on the other side of the pin so it's not good for all builds

Thanks, the Daytona is one I still actively try and tweak, I have gone through a few front ends for it. I always keep coming back to this one. Round headlights make it look goofy af. I dont have pics of that to show unfortunately
