I still have no idea how to take the toes apart to replace batteries though, the end caps keep the halves together. That's if it's not total contained bullshit like the BB7 head for MPP10 with batteries, switch and LED all soldered into a small bundle.
The pin for the ankle hinge can also be easily forced out with a small tool, in case you need to tighten it. It's a plastic rod.
I'm clueless on getting the foot apart as one screw is behind the small green side pod which is pegged, glued or clipped on. There are no slots inside the ankle cavity to push out from.
