After receiving some minidoll components from my friends at The Lego Group, I noticed something one or two anons might be interested in. I had already known that there were two versions of the female minidoll torso, "adolescent female" with a small bust, and "adult female" with a larger bust. Disney has always used the small-bust torso for their Disney Princess line, and as far as I know only Elves and Friends used the large-bust torso.

I also knew that there were two versions of the male minidoll torso, one with a flatter chest and narrower frame, and one with a more barrel chest. What I didn't realize until last night is that the "adult male" torso has thicker arms.

So in conclusion, adolescent female, adolescent male, and adult female torsos all use the thin arms, and adult males use the thick arms. You can use the thin arms with an adult male torso but it makes it look like he's wearing a puffy vest because the edge of the shoulder isn't flush with the edge of the torso. The thick arms don't seem to fit inside of any torso besides adult male. You can click them in partway, but they don't go in far enough to be flush with the torso and I don't want to try forcing it.

Probably would have realized all this earlier but I only had one adult male torso and Bricklink doesn't list any minidoll arms separate from the torsos.

All of that applied to Paradisa ; AFAIK Divers had mantas, octopii and sawfishes but no dolphins.
Apparently there's a new dolphin fig now but eh
The way it's curved looks off and it probably falls over when it's not clipped onto something.
I may just be old but I generally don't like lego animals that are too curvy and round, they just look like they stepped from some other toy line into a Lego set.

Any Creator set is usually what I recommend for people getting into it, they are usually very good and the 3in1 nature shows you how pieces can be used and encourages rebuilding. Also the pieces have a coherent colour scheme, which helps tie your builds together if you don't have many pieces

The thing I'll miss most from Nexo Knights is Jestro & Monstrox. They were entertaining villains and had great chemistry.
Hidden Side looks awful. The box art is extremely lackluster, the gimmick is just slapped on like an afterthought, the colours aren't nice, and the main character designs inspire murderous desire in me. Particularly the two kids.

classic are fine for making a collection bigger, but for a start I'd go with Creator. The models are much better than the "ideas" they give you in the classic boxes and give you a better idea what's possible with the pieces you have. And the biggest problem with the classic boxes is, that you'll have a few pieces in a lot of colours, instead of a lot of pieces in a few colours, so your builds using those pieces will tend to look more like incoherent messes

Yeah you can get them at Staples, Walgreens, whatever, they're pretty common. No damage to parts, though I haven't tried a transparent piece. You might also try isopropyl alcohol.

I don't own any of the recent creator sets, so I don't know if there's one with glaring issues (I don't think that's the case though). In general Creator is one of the lines with the most consistent quality. I'd say just go for a set that looks cool to you, maybe with some slight consideration for what you want to build on your own (i.e. getting a set with wheels if you want to build cars, or some bigger plates as foundations if you want to build houses)

oh, one thing though, only a few creator sets come with minifgs, so if you buy one without it might be a good idea to just get 1-2 minifigs, so you have something to drive/populate your builds.

Big fat fucking warning though. Don't mistake the number of pieces or even the number of colors as meaning anything. It will always happen to miss a piece you're looking for, even as it seems like there's similar pieces available.

For example, I bought the $40 Classic set from Costco, with the intention of using it supplement a number of sets I bought over the previous year.
1500 pieces! That should cover just about everything right?

Anything close to your interest. If you like buildings, City and Friends sets have a lot of tall pillars that make doing floors pretty simple. There's creator sets for mechs/animals. Millions of options for vehicles.

Here it is gents. The tyranny of Roger Douchebag has come to an end. There is some slight abrasion but nothing noticeable, especially not in photos. Keeping the rest of the printing because this might be the coolest printing on a windscreen ever. The colours will be complimentary to most colour schemes as well.

So supposedly MandR productions was able to use his like 200k+ fan base across youtube, instagram, etc to get people to all just mass vote in the Republic Gunship for the next UCS

I don't even know where to begin. Does this guy and the nearly half a million people he kept telling to go vote for the UCS Gunship know or even comprehend UCS sets are not playsets. He was and still is making videos telling people its going to be just like the playset versions both scale, price, and minifgure wise.

Lets look at the past UCS sets that were both playsets. The UCS Attack on Hoth, and UCS Death Star. Both of these sets were criticized by fans and reviewers like JangBricks because they weren't UCS they were playsets made in minifigure scale with less detail then past UCS sets before them and with an over emphasize on figures than details.

UCS sets are not minifigure scale nor do they care. That is the beauty of UCS sets like the Original Death Start (2005), Star Destroyer(2019) and its past version, Tie Fighter, Y-Wings, etc, etc, etc.

What the fuck is this persons problem? Why was he just lying from the start to his nearly quarter of a million impressionable fan base about the UCS Gunship. Its not going to be a playset with like 10-12 figures of clones. There were only two play set UCS and both were criticized and had poor sales. The Hoth version was the last and it sold so poor it felt discontinued in less than a year.

Hell one of the biggest most recent UCS sets the Star Destoryer came with 2 figures TWO FIGURES and not even Darth Vador. Best of all it can't even fit any of the two figures inside of the set. Yet MandR was trying to talk the entire time like this is going to be a playset with a ton of figures for nearly the same price as the past ones.

Gosh I seriously despise the influencers in this community outside Jang and Just2Good

Can a playset be a UCS set. Yes see Hoth, and the second Death Star released? Does this mean UCS sets are play sets? No UCS sets are not play sets despite there being 1 or 2.

Can a minifigure scaled set be a UCS set? Yes see the Imperial Shuttle and Salve 1. Does this mean UCS sets are minifigure scaled? No one or two sets being minifigure scaled don't define UCS as minifigure scaled sets.

Eyyyyy, sorting buddies! I've been picking through bags and sorting out parts after I got my last package of LEGO parts in the mail.

I've got all 6 Atlantis treasures now, all 7 Moonstones from Monster Fighters, the complete Series 1 & 2 shields from Nexo Knights and a fuckton of diamonds/chi stones/shiny rocks.

I've been working on a Japanese inn of sorts, had finished a porch+courtyard area and started working on an open air bath. I got stuck on deciding how to add the surrounding building for it and on a hunch realized I accidentally made it roughly the same dimension as the courtyard.

So I think I may take out the entire courtyard area and build both outdoor areas with attachment points. This way I can work on areas separately as I get ideas. The courtyard and its tree all look a bit sorry since I haven't gotten around to detailing yet.

All this talk of Lego Pirates is reminding me of my friend from middle school's stopmotion project where he got all the 2009 pirates sets and voiced every character. He had this whole drawn out plot with meticulous research on 17th century privateering, and then filmed at 2 frames per second and drowned out the dialogue with classical music because Youtube would take down his videos with Star Wars music. The series was fairly successful, close to a million views across seven episodes. Do you think I should post it?

I had a whole bunch of Dacta as a kid and tried to build working planes and helicopters often. You can't really build a powered plane because the batteries are more weight than any wing or propeller that's not too dense.

Okay so, here are my thoughts on Lego Masters. Arnett wants attention but struggles with being worthy of it and being hired for a job where others are supposed to get it. The Friends designer looks like a massive cold-hearted bitch. The blacks aren't receiving much attention. The gays and the beards are the strongest participants. The crossdresser has deep emotional/mental scars. His partner is a manipulator. She has partnered up with him to use him in life, but his patience has worn thin and resentment is building up.
I know Lego wants the show to have hype so that the viewers won't get bored, but seeing the participants faking excitement is turning me off.

Yes but its called Lego Life now after the Life app they've released. Initially the magazine was set to be scrapped with the intrduction of Lego Life but they've decided against it.

The 2001 issue had a load of goodies included - Issue 2 of the Bionicle comic, a Shop at Home catalog, a Legoland brochure and a Bionicle trading card, all on top of the Lego Magazine itself.

Reading all of these has had the same effect on me too. Those simple by-gone days when licensed figs were yellow, builds were still blocky and simple, themes were silly and fun and Bionicle was a new frontier.

Not going to lie, I do miss that blocky aesthetic. The specialized parts are great but I feel like we lost something in their introduction. Still, I have no real complaints. It's still Lego and it's still pretty great all things considered.

KKII was the first theme in the post-Bionicle era to try and port over the Bionicle formula to System. Problem was that TLG as a whole didn't know what they wanted from the theme so it ended up being hindered by TLG themselves. KKII is the blueprint for all modern Lego themes - you've got a system series that focuses on a group of named character with their own distinct armor, colours, and powers, a tied-in card game, a videogame, a TV show (even though the KKII never materialised), and other media (books, comics, board games, etc). Though this attempt to diversify the theme wasn't backed up with the money - most of the money went towards the art and constraction series so the minifigure sets were barebones and the books were notoriously bad. A lot of the reason it got so much hate when it released was from AFOLs who wanted classic castle, but I think classic castle was waning in popularity and Lego tried to take it in a direction they thought kids would want.

We rarely get 'full' structures outside of maybe minecraft but even those are fairly pricey for what you get. It isn't a super popular theme, so you can find older ones on discount. The cool thing is the whole theme is pretty modular so you can take whole parts of sets or individual pieces and they fit well with other minecraft sets or rebuild into something new.

They're getting better at not just giving you the same 2 figures in every set, but I've taken to using the skeletons as the main characters. They look pretty cool with armor, helmets, and a cape from other themes.

So these are very clearly knockoffs but does anyone else think they might be bootlegs of the official MK sets that SLS somehow got the designs for? Watched the first two episodes of Lego Masters and it's honestly pretty entertaining. I like the lighthearted tone of the show and Will Arnett is a good host, although they definitely ham it up a little too much sometimes and the competitors have clearly been instructed to exaggerate their reactions. The challenges are really cool and creative, it's more about an idea or concept than simply "build this". Bearded Builders, Clark Kent and Superman, and the Newlyweds are definitely the biggest standouts so far. The latter I'm especially surprised with considering that Amy apparently doesn't have much experience with Lego and is only supporting Tyler's hobby. So she's either really, really good at following instructions or she has some hidden talent for building. The Unicorns aren't as obnoxious as I expected them to be, and really the only person I strongly dislike is the faggot in the dress. But every reality show needs a heel I guess. Also RIP Kara and Jessie, sad to see them go...

The Monastery (70670) as the other anon mentioned is very good, though maybe not as detailed.
Temple of Madness has an interesting shape but the cyber aesthetic doesn't fit with normal buildings. Plus it's expensive. Next 'season' is supposed to be dungeons, so no idea when they're going to go back toward more normal buildings.

Don’t even get me started on these piece of SHIT helicopters. I bought a few of the red bodies and the propellers on bricklink because I had an idea to incorporate them into a space tank moc, — based on MTron as a matter fact — using the propellers as wheels. What a fucking idiot I feel like now. I mean, I figured there would be at least two studs to sit a fig and thus a way to attach them to other lego parts. I was really looking forward to the challenge but its really a lot worse than you could imagine. There isn’t a single FUCKING stud, antistud, clip, technic hole, pin, or anything else to fasten them to other lego parts. I spent 20 dollars on this crap for nothing. They must have outsourced the design of these shitty things to Bangladesh because they obviously didn’t consult with any of the build team. They just sent them over in a box and said “make some sets we can throw these flying turds into”.

Okay, Imma come clean. I lied about owning the helicopters because I thought it would be a more interesting story if I wasted my money on the fuckers. I had been planning the M tron tank MOC since I saw the new fire helicopter leak back in 2019. I looked at a review by jang where I found out the helicopter is minimally compatible with Lego. But tomorrow I’m going to buy one of these at the Lego store to do an investigation into compatibility. I’m thinking now that you could probably at least set the skids in some studs and then clamp them down using some technic elements like a vice. Sorry about the wild story and samefaggotry. I’ll report back here about possible ways to integrate these parts if you’re like me and like to use crazy garbage pieces in MOC’s.

I mean everything else works fine. They were supposed to have some system in place to inventory new sets but they're pretty slow

Watched a couple of reviews of them and this shit is fucking hilarious.
One flat out said that the police heli transporter goes straight on his top 10 worst sets of the year (which also includes other brands) and the set itself back to the toy store because it's overpriced as fuck and the helicopter doesn't fly AT ALL and feels like something you get in a dollar store or cheap carnival prize.
Another one tried it with his kid which also just ended in the kid saying "NO" when asked if they should do a second try after the first attempt at making that thing fly failed spectacularly.
Only Jang was somewhat optimistic about them but then again I can't think of any set that he actually hated.

It looks lame but no worse than the 20+ tiny choppers all using the same canopy and design
But now being able to fly makes it a complete fail

I had a generic toy with that ripcord design that worked great as a kid

Here they are in a protective binder. There's some interesting tidbits of information in these cards, such as Rascus and Jayko being peasants/yeomen rather than nobility like Danju and Santis. Also Rascus became a knight solely to get women, so he most likely went on the quest to save the kingdom just to get laid. Absolute madlad.

I got it, but at a 30% discount.
Very nice collection of parts, both generic parts and specialized pieces, definitely a good starting point for making a custom subway station. The minifigures and accessories are also great, that bike is unique to that set as far as I know, and I'm tempted to army build that worker minifig for something.
It does have a fair amount of stickers that don't really contribute a lot, but that clock piece is mint.
