>>8037846In the IDW comics Scrapper gets killed. The Constructicons can still form Devastator but he limps around with a dead leg. After the war ends, Megatron has the Constructicons and a brainwashed Prowl (schemes were happening at the time) reengineered to be able to become any part of Devastator. Prowl takes the head spot and Hook replaces Scrapper as a leg.
Prowl gets over his brainwashing and Devastor is broken up, only for Megatron to go "guess what, my body can do it too". He's about to combine when the Autobots activate Wheeljack's trap card, a force field bubble he had put into Megatron while checking him over earlier. Megatron's blocked from combining, and the Constructicobs, realizing how much of an absolute dick Prowl is, continues to form Devastator with him.
Later later on, Prowl gets arrested for being a dick, Hook takes his head spot back, and President Starscream convinces Scoop to take the leg spot.
