At least back in the 80s when they made cartoons to sell shitty toys, the shitty toys had unique molds and weren't just the same form with a different decal slapped on it. I love SHMA and X-Plus and even NECA but it's all been samey and slow so I've recently gotten deep in the sofubi scene. Really adds a lot of character to my kaiju collection.

Relative newbie here, is the thing on Destoroyah/Destroyer's chest like a mouth? I haven't seen the movie yet (only seen the '54 OG, Shin Godzilla and '61 Mothra) but I always liked that detail.

Not sure if I'd try and go for a movie inspired look, an "alt colours" scheme or go completely crazy and paint him up like a more detailed version of an old sofubi. I don't know much about painting vinyl, I know a lot of older garage kits use it and need special primer, but as this is a modern kit perhaps it doesn't? I know Tamiya for example uses some weird vinyl-like plastic for tank tracks that can be glued and painted easily.

Doubt I'd call it worst release so much as the figure is just their Destroyah burning Godzilla with the bright orange changed to neon glow green with no other changes.
The figure itself is just a more dated design compared to newer ones, even many of the other older godzilla designs have gotten updates.

Of course it's an older release, so is the glow in the dark Nuclear Glow Godzilla, this all came out around the same time. Doesn't make it any less a good figure, and a fun variant. Not for any crazy price, but if they can score it for $30 or $40, if they REALLY wanted it, that's fine.

The paint apps are immaculate tho.

Is it worth the money tho? Yes, the paint job is unmatched short of custom paints in resin kits, and the plastic is very high quality.

The Hedorah Deforeal I have is great and worth the ~$50 I paid. Personally I would find it hard to justify anything beyond that unless it was a figure I really wanted and missed out on. They may reissue some later down the line, but for now the only one we've got (correct me if I'm wrong) is the clear variant of Shin (4th form).

Don't touch the eyes on zilla 2000. It's some type of oil and I wiped it off on accident. Made the eye dull. I used some acrylic floor polish to shine it up again though.

Finally got around to messing with my 2019 shma ghidorah.

Is this the worst figure in the line?

The thing falls apart at the slightest touch. Stand it up, one or both tails come off, possibly in multiple pieces. One of the wings just slides right off the post, and one of the necks can't stay on almost as bad as the tail.

I haven't been this frustrated with an SHMA figure since Battra and his exploding legs.

Many collectors have glued the wings to the pegs. Fix 100%.

The tails fall off because of the socket housing being too deep on some figures. Best way to work with this is to heat the sockets up, and once you reattach everthing, put tails in the freezer for 15 mins. Will create a tighter hold around ball joints.

The figure is nice, but its design doesnt lend itself to well for SHMA. The wings are just to massive and heavy. It takes time to figure out the best ways to pose it.

But seriously, glue the wings to the pegs and 90% of your issues go away.

local target must had just restocked zillas. They had every new release in multiples including the blue mothra. All the GMK's had pink paint on the bottom gum line I picked up the best one but out or 4 they were all like that

Pickle Rick is probably the most popular brute, followed by Glavenus, Brachy and then maybe Barroth? Thing is, I'm not a multiplayer kinda person, so I go everything solo. The one time I was able to really get into a MH game was MH Tri on the Wii. And just when I was really getting into it, I hit a wall hard and couldn't get any further cause I encountered a monster that was just too difficult.

I dislike multiplayer games too, but in world there is a multiplayer system that allows people to enter your hunt without any extra interaction, so you can treat them almost as NPCs. Try it out, most people love it.

Theres really nothing to improve. It's a solid release. They purposely made it 1:1 to the suit.

Generally speaking though, reissues thus far dont improve anything engineering wise. Theres usually a slight paint variance due to not being made from the same batch of paint as the original release were talking lighter or darker in color, or even a tint change in the shading. Example, godzilla rebirth first release had a blue tint in the shading. The reissue was solid charcoal color. For those that have both, you can easily see this if you take a photo with the flash on with both figures in frame.

Very very new to fig collecting and I love Godzilla. So far I have a very cheap MechaG1 from like a walmart or something. Yesterday I got a NECA G from Kong v, Godzilla (fucking amazing box art, and I love the weighty fig compared to a cheaper one)

Now I really want to buy a SH monsterarts, and i think I want the Burning Godzilla form KOTM. Apparently its still in preorder. What's the best place to buy one of them?

I preordered from Nin-Nin Game, since they were the first place to have a preorder available, but BigBadToyStore is another good option. I think that figure got delayed until July or August.

Pretty much every current recreation of the 1954 design has the same head sculpt, though. I think it's just some vintage promotional still photos that make the head of the original suit look more bulbous. The SHMA is also more articulated than it has any right to be, so I think that also might skew it a bit.

You know, I wonder if the godzilla suit used in the promo materials was different from the movie. Because after watching the movie, I cant say I've seen godzilla 54 with that big head outside of promo art. In the movie, looks just like the SHMA.

It is the same. The suit seen in most of the film is the second suit they made, though. The first one was so heavy it was impossible to work with. That suit was cut in half and used for a couple of close up walking shots of Godzilla's feet.
