Transformers and G. I. Joe crossover line is coming next year, there was going to be a teaser toy pack given for sale at SDCC before all this virus happened, it's moving to NYCC if not cancelled. We get Beast Wars subline,all season 1 remakes of the whole cast, if it sells expect Transmetals and Fuzors remakes too.
Next Transformers show is worked at EOne by the team behind The Batman series, to be more like Animated and less Cyberverse. Studio Series is continuing next year with it's last waves, the 2022 film will have a normal movie line as Hasbro wants to move away from the Bay continuity. Botbots is continuing. WFC3 is called Chaos and it's 86' cast and japanese characters such as Starsaber and Deathsaurus. Insecticons remakes are coming, dinobots later.

Next Transformers show is done by the team behind The Batman 2004 series. The show will feature brand new designs, from EOne. More in tone with Animated and less like Cyberverse, Windblade is forgotten as Hasbro lost all faith in the character,Arcee is entering spotlight again. The show will be a different retelling of the Autobot vs Decepticon war set on a more futuristic Tron like Earth.

I suppose it counts, Armada would've had a straight sequel in the form of Super Cross where the Unicron blackhole ended in a singularity and the Autobots and Deceptions of Armada would've crossed paths with G1. Instead it got replaced by the timeskip sequel Energon.

What are your thoughts on genderswapping characters/toys with very little personality or fictional appearances, /tfg/? Myself I think it can work assuming the toy looks vaguely feminine. For example:

I personally like Megabot High Tide since the ship mode is a rare altmode. Their previous Minicon line also had 5mm compatible dogs that transform into tools and weapons.

As for their main figures, they get kinda stale after a while since RB reuses a lot of transformation schemes and characters. That Heatwave's transformation for example has been used by no less than 5 characters.

At the risk of sounding like that obnoxious boomer, a lot of the RID toys are already perfect. RID Megatron/Gigatron could literally not be improved with a modern retail figure, the car brothers would lose their charm without the BW style engineering, and we got a new Ruination from Takara. I'd like a new Ultra Magnus if only because the original was not all that great (90% legs, couldn't stand up and ballache of a transformation) but short of thigh swivels Prime is perfect.

Oh I totally get you, unfortunately IIRC the molds for a lot of those figures are gone/worn out beyond recovery, so the chances of reissues are low (and when they reissued Prime and Magnus the QC was so bad they recalled them). And I doubt that new mold figures would live up to the originals.
Armada, though, that's a different story. I reckon they could actually do the designs justice if they gave them their own molds. Bonus points for minicon compatibility even if they don't activate gimmicks.

No, cyberverse was never meant to have more than three seasons. The problem is that the toys didn't sell and we got the deluxe class BaF too late. The next Transformers show won't have gimmick toys like Cyberverse, one Step is also not coming back as it is considered a failure now. Overall the company isn't happy with the cyberverse sales, the next show will be more serious to engage fans of all ages and the toys will be more classic engineered. I would call the new toy line and EOne show as the second coming of the Animated era toys wise and quality wise. I'm sure fans will love it.

An acquaintance has been customizing Beast Wars figures as G1 characters. A cobra (don't know the character) as Sideswipe, Mammoth Convoy as... uhh... Optimus Prime. That one is a little less intense of a customization. It's mostly the paintjob on the beast mode.

No, you're absolutely right. The autistic generations begging is the absolute fucking worst and is getting ridiculous. It's like they don't realize that other lines exist. As for Galaxy Convoy, the update is even worse in terms of proportions. Galaxy convoy works because he's supposed to be an exaggerated super robot. The Siege one gave him energon proportions with stupid ,unwieldy, fat legs, skinny arms and a brick torso. It still shocks me that people see that figure and think "SEE THEY CAN UPDATE THE LATER LINES" when in actuality it's simply brute forcing a design from a mold it's not meant for.

They should just remake the molds by splitting the figures back into their original pieces and remaking each part of the sprue with CAD software. It's pretty easy to do if you're competent with 3d modelling and printing

Siege has better proportions though. Original is so blocky and rectangular that it makes G1 bricks look dynamicly sculpted. Weird narrow legs with giant clown shoe feet, exposed head, and the worst truck mode ever made. Agreed, I don't understand the hate around G1. Isn't that what Transformer IS? Plus the original toys are almost 40 years old now, we need updates and good ones that is actually the original toy but now a great action figure that still transforms. All those people who demand their toys not G1 be remade are just selfish pricks. I don't hate G1 but it's definitely not the best or definitive incarnation of Transformers, and even from a simple toy design standpoint there are plenty of post-G1 designs begging for modern Gen quality updates (Armada especially). I really don't understand this black and white thinking of "Everything is either an exact 1:1 carbon copy of the media or it might as well not exist" and "Only G1 matters, everything else is unimportant regardless of how good".

Are you dumb? Do you even know what a fucking Powermaster is? It's essentially an external transformation cog that is required to be plugged onto the bot so it can transform. The new Doubledealer doesn't have that. It transforms like a regular transformer and the chest cavity is made as an easter egg not a proper gimmick. Its been almost 40 years since the original Doubledealer toy came out and the Siege line has proven to be a great love letter to G1 yet Hasbro would rather cheapen out and not include the powermaster gimmick at all. What gives?

But you're not a TRUE Transformer fan if you don't like G1. And G1 desperately needs more love after years of neglect. Lines like UTshit doesn't need an update because the original toys are already great for what they are. Zoomers ask for an updated Cybertron Optimus Prime and they got one get they still whine that it's not like the original toy. Because you just can't beat perfection so why even bother? And that Armada Optimus Prime is cancelled because TakaraTomy knew there's no market for it. The original toy is so good it doesn't need a fucking remake. Because it is all that's ever shilled nowadays. We're on our 3rd run or maybe even 4th run of the 84-85 carbots now and people are getting sick of it. People want something new for a change because G1 isn't bringing in anyone actually new except the people they had lost during Prime Wars due to their generally shit quality. Maybe not a repaint but The siege Megs base would be good for a remold, the front treads are already where the shoulders are, and the turret is on the back. Just replace the stock arms with a regular turret, and the front treads section becomes the arms. Maybe remove the front panel so a remolded head with antlers can stick out

but I also thought he'd make a pretty poor Armada megs if he were just a straight repaint but the base figure definitely has all the parts there for a good remold/retool. If he did get one I wouldn't even consider ER megs, armada is where it's at, best megs design and definitely needs an update

I agree that any Armada Megs update needs the pillar shoulders, that's why the CW version was so disappointing, but I think the WFC megs mold could be pretty easily retooled to have his pillar shoulders, They sit right where his robot mode shoulders would be when in vehicle mode. Other than that it doesn't throw me into the Uncanny Valley like T30 Arcee. Something about her proportions, face, and bizarre undercarriage of arms and legs splayed in unnatural positions like a butchered prostitute makes me want to throw her into a jar of acetone.

So yeah overall I'm feeling positive about ER Arcee and have her pre-ordered.

Just as a toy fag theres no consistency with Windblade and the G1 guys on a basic aesthetic level. I know they're all redesigned for the comics but it just seems so showhorned. I never liked her design at all. It looks like something someone thought was anime and badass in the early 90s or something because the geisha theme is so strangely executed.

Just make a recolour of a G1 with a slightly skinnier curvy body, add Glyph, add Slipstream, literally anything would be better than Windblade.

Yes, PCC Sledge's ANGRY face has a resemblance to Dinobot and has that drill minicon that can also turn into a shield similar to that of Dinobot's. It's just that he's a little small.

He makes me wish they would redo Fort Max and Metroplex. The baseformers have been great since Trypticon, although I'm not sure how popular he was after the fan vode hoopla.
