I'm still annoyed they didn't release King Poseidon in box set. Had I bought all releases, I would have paid around 12-17 dollar shipping per duo, not to mention God Neptune is 14 dollars cheaper than King Poseidon when you buy four deluxes and Turtler.

I'm in a similar situation, but my plan was to buy King Poseidon, and an extra Tentakil, Lobclaw and Turtler. The extra's were meant for Scramble 7 (already had extra's of Brawl, CW Amazon Blast Off, G2 Brawl and Dead End). To my misfortune, not only did the split releases make everything more expensive, but all 3 I wanted extra's were split across the waves. I just lost the motivation to buy them. They should have just let us pre-order for all 6 at once.

That doesn't' change the fact that they provided all six in one purchase, while hasbro only let you buy them individually. I know that's not a big deal since you guys get free shipping in the United States, but I had to pay 20 shipping just for God Neptune, I wasn't keen in spending close to 50 for King Poseidon.

Kinda wish Third Parties still made figures for the Generations line. I really want them to make a cartoon accurate Turtler. Of all the Seacons, it needed to be a brand new mold, the retooling just isn't good enough.

He's great. The only real major issue he had were the handle bars which iirc were fixed in later releases of the mold. Much better than orange groove.

The planet of junk one is the movie anniversary version. It's slightly more vibrant in color and comes with another Junkion and a Classics Hot Rod. It's probably your best bet if you don't want a used figure since its about $50 max and its easy to find and you get another good figure but one mediocre one as well. Either that or you can wait for the original one to show up second hand.

The best one IMO is the takara united version

I had headcanoned out an entire extended cast.
Slash and scorn are there, along with Strafe (separate from swoop)
And Strife (based on IDW Strafe)
I had also come up with Skar, a Therazinosauros
Spite, a Dilophosaurus
Slam, a packycephelosaurus
Smash, an ankilosaurus
Snag, an oviraptor
Slurp, a parasaurolphus
And depending on things, Paddles as a sort of weaponizer companion to help form any 6 of them into a combined form

G1 optimus worked so well because he was an approachable team dad, he could crack a joke, play games and have fun with his men, and listened to the kids. Later on Optimus got put on this pedestal and became robot Jesus, and that interpretation leaked into his performance (or at least the directors of it) and it suffered becoming a more shallow and basic character.

Walker by contrast got actively better, G1 megatron was good for the cartoon but when he came back for TF prime, he had developed some real range and megatron came off as actually menacing and cunning, we got hints of that in the movie but he blossomed later with all his acting experience.

That's just how the character's been written since the Bay movies and Transformers: Prime. They're really not giving Cullen anything to work with.

I will say that I don't like the straight human voice that they've gone with. G1 Prime had a bit of synthesizer that I felt added to it. Cullen's voice has also deepened over the years, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but combined with the serious tone that the writers have given Optimus just makes it seem kind of depressing.

I just finished playing Fall of Cybertron and this was my biggest complaint, all the transformers just sounded like regular dudes and not big converting robots. I think you need that little bit of digital distortion added to the voices, just like you need at least some variation of the TCHTCH-TCH-TCH-TCH transformation noise for it to still be 'transformers-y'.

Yup. In the movies, there were a few times the transformers spoke Cybertronian in an alien/robotic way, then they sounded like normal humans speaking English. It was off-putting.

To be fair, the F-22 Raptor is basically a thin metal arrow with a slightly less thin bit in the middle, there's very little space to hide folded up robot inside it. Honestly, considering how screen accurate and poseable the robot mode is, I actually think they did an alright job with this (the minigun, missile launcher and saw are detachable too, so I'd factor them out). Though granted, I don't know if it's that massive a step up from the old HFTD Leader.

The difference is that Macross Valkyries were designed to work as physical objects from the outset- Shoji Kawamori was an aircraft mechanic once IIRC. Bayverse Screamer was designed to look cool on the big screen first and foremost, and uses a lot of cheating to work.

My inner planefag is kinda mad that we won't get a Shoji Kawamori designed MP Starscream 2.0 which follows the same sort of design philosophy but done better with advances in toy design, as opposed to the inevitable shitty Korean sweatshop animation accurate panel explosion we will get.

I wouldnt go that far, the jet mode is gorgeous and the robot mode is pretty cool looking even if it isnt G1 accurate and a bit dated (which is fair considering its like 14 years old now). Ironically enough the more G1 accurate MP-11 retool was much floppier than MP-03. If MP-03 had been made with the same ideas but modern engineering he would be a fantastic toy, unless you just really hate jets.

I don't have an MP-03, but my MP-11 is pretty tight. I remember a major talking point about the mold was how much better it held together.

It's not perfect by any stretch, but MP-11 is one of those toys that I love in spite of all of it's flaws. It's just so gorgeous in both modes. I'm particularly fond of the MP-11T version I definitely overpaid for. I'm no cartoonfag, but that blue is gorgeous.

I know! I thought Siege Hound looked like a real fun toy, but I was waiting for a more interesting repaint. Hotshot was kind of a let down because of how much the original toy outclassed it, but Ironfist or Crankcase would have been an instabuy. I got Smashdown and the Military Patrol from Walmart. It was those and $40 CAD Grapplea, $30 CAD Ironworks, and $13 Trip-Up & Autobot Daddy-O.

Got Smashdown's tail/handle in but I'm not too sure how firm it will be. Growl's arm keeps popping off from the leg in vehicle mode and the team seems overall underwhelming. The Countach (Sideswipe, etc) and Fairlady (Prowl & co) moulds are real nice and have plentiful versions available. The Stratos (Wheelhack/Exhaust) is pretty great, too, if you're cool with the proportions. The Stingray (Tracks/Road Rage/Loudpedal) is a bit jankier but does some neat stuff and Tracks is pretty cheap.

New leak from /co/:

Bumblebee and Arcee will also be leads, Windblade is still pushed though there is some hate for her going at Hasbro. I think it could be called the next "clone wars" and second coming of Animated. You guys are in for great stuff.
