Maybe it's because I focus on OT/Clone Wars sets, but is anyone else just not interested in the Sequel Trilogy sets?
I'm not trying to say "Sequels Bad," the sets just don't do anything for me. It feels like half of the sequel-era stuff is just rehashed from the OT.

That's because most of the designs are, and given the choice I'll almost always pick the OT version because that's what I'm familiar with. Nuwars has a handful of interesting designs and I actually like the sequel Y-Wing a lot, but there aren't many vehicles that stand out as unique or iconic.

To the anon who informed me last thread about the scooter. First, thank you for the MOC you made using the shorter robot arm for the handlebars, it looks perfect due to the shorter length, I would've never thought of it. Also, thank you for using the skateboard wheels because that I definitely would've never considered, and I like the way they look way more. Reason for that is I wanted the wheels black, and the regular scooter wheels don't even exist in that color. This saves my colorscheme and honestly the new "scootboard" look is so dumb and dinky I'm now thrilled to ironically give it to my radical skater minifig I intended it for all along. Made my night.

The majority of sequel trilogy toys is being ignored and rightfully so. Diamond Select Toys claimed there was no demand for it to be made and Hasbro recently came up with a poll in which people can choose the new black series figure. Guess what? Out of ten possible options, not one character from the sequels! I think only the lego sets sell decently since it can be rebuild in something else, but still then i bet prequel/clonewars/original trilogy will always be in much more higher demand, generating more profit for LEGO.

the thin part fits the axle hole, the handle sticks out for a standard bar connection. Those wheels are loose, just stuck on there for the photo, but you could use small technic wheels with a 1/2 pin. Those should stay on.

That definitely doesn't happen in the real world, like the majority of airplanes don't have two wings, a long body and a tail. The majority of ships aren't just one big body with a deck at the rear. The majority of trains aren't all one engine at the front followed by passenger carts. So why should a range of star ships in a fictional film all follow the same sort of pattern. I detest Overwatch but I wanna say that this set and the D-Va mech are really phenomenal, as are the figs in the line (besides the obvious). I wish every line had such ambitious and attractive 20-40 dollar sets. It always feel like Lego cheaps out on those but these were great.

After building the Warrior Mech and Bull King my conclusion is that both were definitely done by extremely talented visual designers but garbage toy designers.
The final products just are a sight to see but the actual play value of those things is pretty damn low, especially in terms of articulation.
Hell, even simply picking up the Warrior Mech somehow doesn't feel good because in the back of your head you always have this "meh, what am I even going to do with it now - this thing doesn't actually do much despite its size and price" thought.

I was looking over the IDEAs entries and godamn I hate the tragedy of relying on the common masses for votes. Literally every round it's:

I want Ideas to stop being votes for IPs and instead function as votes of quality. Notice how all the Animal Crossing sets have massive votes despite being meh builds. LEGO also needs to shut shit down regarding submissions that overlap with current themes. This also extends to Nasashit. LEGO has been making NASA models for ages, I don't understand why every assberger thinks his specific orbital capsule waifu needs a 1:872 scale set.

Things like the pop-up book, ship in a battle are interesting and fresh. They teach new techniques or encourage access to cool parts in new colors.

Ideas should allow more niche IPs a chance to breathe, and the "violence" restrictions need to be relaxed if the model itself is fine (I'm a little salty still about them rejecting the Blade Runner spinner simply because the movie was M for a single profanity). If people want sitcom minifigs, LEGO needs to just outright make CMF style bags instead of boring background sets.

As for suggestions, I can only offer general stuff:
> Small vignette scenes (movie summaries, foodcarts of the world, etc)
> 2001: A Space Odyssey (happy medium between nasa and actual Sci-Fi)
> A set focused on teaching actual LEGO movie-making techniques like forced perspective, perhaps in relation to smartphones
> Steampunk anything (LEGO hasn't done an actual attempt since time cruisers, I'd take Wild Wild West at this fucking point)
> Architecture line but for famously designed art and material culture- Eames Chair, etc
