Commander is too big. PMOP and Overlord are the same height as they should be and Sixshot was the same height as magnus.
Plus they only do one commander per line.

There is no incentive. Everyone wants to rape the dying corpse of G1. The attempts at doing original stuff just gets diminishing returns and is a pain to coordinate with the toy distribution people. It doesn't help that the people at Hasbro who okays the shows have very strange ideas of what they want which is usually just a g1 reboot/clone with CGI.

In their case its not really a redo since they haven't even had actual figures since the 80s. That's precisely my problem. We keep going over the same 84-85 geewun cartoon cast ad nauseam while they leave everyone else as either half assed repaints or most of the time; never made at all.

Well I'd normally see it for 65 - 100 whenever I looked but I got it for 48 in total with shipping.
Still way more than one should be paying for a deluxe with fancy paint but better than the average going rate and I've always wanted it.

This, although I can't stand Peaugh anymore. When I first got into TFs like 11 (christ) years ago, he was one of the most consistent reviewers with lots of videos, so I used him to scope out early additions to my collection. I got sick of him describing shit with the same tiresome cadence and phrases. It got to the point where if I heard "If you so choose" one more fucking time, I'd smash my head against my keyboard. He's gotten especially bad now because it's clear he's dead inside and only cares about getting it over with. He's better than most other reviewers, but that's not saying much.

They obviously won't have the box head but something like that isn't going to translate into a toy format well at all, especially with a lower budget. It would just be better if you had a more modern take that took aspects from both the toy and the anime and modernized it to suit a more unique aesthetic like what Generations should be.

Most of the time it seems like it's the deluxes that suffer the most with the few exceptions here and there (Jet Shatter, Car Dropkick, Hightower) and the voyages get the most attention and budget put into them.
Like the last few voyages from the line have been pretty great imo.

Cheetor is based on Sideswipe and Botcon Primal(who was based on Cybertron Crumplezone) was already made with SDCC Primal and his smaller robot vehicle mode.

Hasbro firest and foremost is looking to remake the botcon exclusives. It's why we got clear blue mirage and other literal who's in things. The odd choices are them going down the list and picking really lesser known stuff to pair with late era g1 stuff(because it sells).

The three targetmaster autobots are coming as well as Needlenose. Scoop is going to be pre-earth Rhinox, that's already set in stone Dinobot/Dynobot has already had two rejected molds(just like BW Megs and CW Demolisher) so he and rattrap are still undecided.

Terrosaur and Waspinator are seeker repaints but one will be Siege seeker mold and the other Earthrise

G1 sells way too much to ever be put on the backburner, next generations line is comparable to now where you have some beasts(Seacons, Dinobots) but it's still mostly vehicles.

Apeface repaint isn't BW Primal it's going to be Botcon Apelinque and he'll be silver and red.

This. As a retailer exclusive or selects it's a no-brainer. Just cause they do a simple repaint doesn't mean we can't get other BW figures that are show accurate. This is just a way to get more reuse out of a mold.

I’m going to have to disagree.
Mobile trash vortex-shredder and scrap smelter are totally reasonable non-earth alt-modes (and equally as imaginary as every literal drill-cone style drill-tank that we’ve ever gotten) for toys.
Evil decepticons being depicted/described as doing horrible/evil things with their alt modes is actually pretty par for the course. (Though these days they try and use ambiguous wording to somewhat obscure the implied murder various characters do in their toy bios.)

At most you’d just need to tweak the alt-mode designs to make their functions more apparent and playable:
>Make Tesarus’s vortex grinder stand upright and face forward in alt-mode a-la Movie Devastator. Maybe add a spinning teeth gimmick or closing aperture/jaws, taking advantage of his size/class lending itself that type of addition.
>Give Helex some smoke-stacks or something to emphasize the smelting. Possibly either add some kind of dumping bucket for dumping scrap into the smelter and/or a chute for pouring out the processed molten slag.

Got the hot rod patrol, don't know what I was expecting.

Trip-Up keeps falling over which, I guess that makes sense? Daddy-O is definitely the stronger of the two but that's not saying much. His arms can at least be in resting position while for Trip-Up not really.

The car gun thing looks lame and it's difficult to get them to pin together without said pin folding back in. I like their cars but Trip-Up's legs have difficulty tabbing. All in all I bought these as anti-depressants and will likely keep them in car mode or following Hot Rod, the Military Patrol is less disappointing since Bombshock is a swell tank with a waist swivel

This, they'll go well with Cosmos and shuttle, and maybe Sky Lynx but they're very very hit or miss.

Also Power Punch at least turns vaguely into something independent, I'm not sure what the back half of the shuttle will be able to turn into and keep a semblance of autonomy/independence compared with the front half. The front half might just look weird on its own too

I've experienced deminishing returns with them. Most packs only had one member that I liked at all. Stakeout has become an all-time fav to keep on my desk because of his ball jointed knees, functional neck, and nice, dense plastic quality (he almost feels like he's from some other toyline), but he's an outlier. Direct-Hit and Power Punch are probably the only other ones I'd keep if you put a gun to my head.

Part of the appeal of the old Micromasters was that they were cheap, simple, and fun. These new ones are no longer cheap, and often not simple, and the build quality keeps them from being any fun.

A lot of them were originally released in playsets with buildings or vehicles that transformed into battle stations. Ironworks, Airwave, and Omega Supreme are the only modern versions of those, and Omega is the only one to actually include a micromaster.

I still don't know what he expected. G1 and other legacy series' aesthetics versus Bayformers has always been a hot-button topic and he tried imposing Bayshit onto the only ongoing G1-based fiction of the time. Most readers took offense because it looked like the movies were finally overwriting the franchise. It wasn't going to win over much of the Bay audience because, quite frankly, the pictures weren't moving and they'd have to read. Virtually no one wanted his brainchild and it bruised his ego after years of getting fellated by the fandom for being a better artist than Pat Lee of all people.

Is that the upcoming flat guy? I have not bought Ironworks. Thought Omega predated micros by quite a bit?
I dunno how to feel about playsets but worst-case it's something for Kreons to enjoy - what's boggling though is the amount of ramps they keep trying to peddle. Stop trying to tempt me into building a city, satan!

There's not a huge difference except for the age of the designs I think. The micromasters are much older, and the siege ones are just remakes of those. But I feel like minicons were much more strange and varied in both alt and robot modes and that made them more fun. Plus most of them had an interesting gimmick like combining or something

I should have clarified: the original Omega Supreme had nothing to do with micromasters, but the Siege version was used as a replacement for Countdown's rocket base.

Omega definitely seemed to buck the trend of titans being overstocked and heavily discounted. I hate it for other collectors because I think he's the best titan so far. Just a lot of fun to put together and pose

Adding to that, he left and there were plenty of good artists with a similar style to take his place like E.J Su, Guido Guidi, Casey Coller, Andrew Griffith and Alex Milne. The latter two also working on Bayformers and Milne actually achieving that coveted mix of Bayformers and G1 without pissing anyone off and quickly to boot.

Look man, I’m pretty liberal, and genuinely support a lot of “woke” stuff and positions,
but mariachi Mario is not offensive. What it is is an example of cultural representation, admittedly not a particularly original or unique example of representing Hispanic culture, but still one done in a celebratory manner.
The might have had a point if Mariachi Mario was exhibiting negative racial stereotypes like being drunk all the time, taking naps and being lazy, or having dozens of children, but as far as I know he doesn’t.

Representation of minority cultures in media helps normalize them more for the wider public through increased familiarity, which in turn makes them more predisposed towards tolerance of those they encounter who have those cultures. Which is why stuff like that, when it’s actually being done respectfully, is GOOD for minorities.

It's awesome that you're not offended by it. Hell, I'd argue that most people wouldn't look at that and get insulted by it. But it's not about that. It's not about what you're personally offended by. It's about having the empathy for people whom have been bullied and mocked by others whom think that representation of Hispanics are what being Hispanic is all about.

It's like when Jackie Chan was big, and Asian people outside of Asian countries largely got associated with him. Kids were mocked at school for looking like Jackie Chan, adults weren't taken seriously if they looked Asian but weren't trained in wacky martial arts, etc. It's the same effect. It's keeping a stereotype alive, thus making *some* people that aren't of that culture think that's all there is to that culture, thus making *some* people of that culture have to put up with some annoying shit. And people who empathize with the people that have to put up with that annoying shit from assholes and pricks are probably the ones who are speaking out about it.

tl;dr: It's not about you not being offended. It's about making humanity less like annoying pricks.
