If lego had made regular sets children would have still played with them the same way, picking up the mario fig and "jumping" around the set onto goombas and over lava etc. but they also could have broken the sets down to build new things and add to their other creations. These ones just seem limiting, there isn't enough to go beyond what the set was planned for except rearranging the obstacles. They wanted to incorporate electronics into the set but the set only has electronics. It would have been nice to have big sets of peach's and bowser's castle, or a mario cart track or even a soccer field with mario characters.

Promo implies giant robot/mech/alien things, but everything I can find on Eternals looks underwhelming, boring and bland humans.

No particular interest in the sets unless they have some good pieces. Marvel sets normally sell thanks to the figures but nobody cares about Eternals. Unless they do a Guardians style marketing campaign nobody will care when this film under-performs.

Whats interesting about this is that in the older sets the first page of the instructions shows you how to build the minifigs all on the same page at the very beginning. Did minifigs used to all come in the same bag in new sets?

They are effectively humans in the same way Starlord is - they may be partially connected to celestials - but still look like generic humans. Pic related, demonstrates how they all look incredibly fucking generic and uninteresting. Not even sure how they can make the minifigures look remotely interesting - plus they are going to be wearing street clothes for half the film.

Yes, just the same way Captain Marvel did. Half the movie was shot IRL - so we are going to spend the majority of the movie in what appears to be present day.

Either way, weak superhero costumes and a cast of celebs from recent tv/film normally only occurs when the source material sucks (E.g. taking the guy who played Flash, Kit Harington simply because Jon Snow, etc...)

I just got done building this kino set bros. This was brand new out of the box. One thing I noticed is the Johnny Thunder face is slightly updated and has whites in the eyes. I hadn't noticed any differences to the faces of the Adventurers between sets since I started collecting them, except maybe the chick. Anyone want to share the details here? I'll post a comparison pic in a minute.

At the time? Yes.

Now? Yes, because Lego's internal rule is currently "stud-width inside technic bore is allowed as long as it's only a single instance".

For example, you could legally attach a single stud into the side of an 1x8 technic brick, but you couldn't attach all the studs on a 1x8 plate into all the bores in the 1x8 technic brick.

I don't collect Star Wars but I couldn't resist that mandalorian battle pack. They join their thrift store brothers in waiting. The speeder wasn't terrible, actually kinda neat but quickly joined my nearest parts bin along with the terrain pieces.

I hope we get that warp pipe piece in other colors, could be useful as a feature piece in large MOCs. The mouth printed piece for Bowser Jr looks great too.. unless that already exists. The rounded corner plate pieces I'm less excited about but glad they're going to have several colors.

Not very hyped about the sets themselves, I'm okay with gimmicks if they're actually cool, this one isn't. Robotics control bricks or motor bases are useful but this is far too specialized.

What's the difference between the original neck bracket (A) and the post-2019 new neck bracket (B)? I can see there's a difference in the depth of the stud, but what's the consequence of that? It looks like the newer one has a shallower stud, doesn't that make it inferior? It's listed as a "reinforced" variant, is that because of the extra thickness of the back panel, was there issues with them being too weak?

Definitely brickbuilt. Making them as molds would limit what kind of sets could be produced, but by brickbuilding the monaters you open up a huge plethora of possibke sets, given that you can even sell just monsters without anythi g additional.

The spinjitzu monastery uses these for the main structure and doesn't solve the problem, they try to fill the space they can by putting regular wedge plates on top of it and building walls off that but there's still a gap, they just try to obscure it by putting a pillar in front

Pretty well. It basically supercharges them. They instantly become reactive and glowing and it lasts after you shut off the UV light.

That's not what they said. They said that custom made 3rd party parts, pieces and prints, like BricksArms, would no longer be allowed to be sold on Bricklink under the custom section. And from what I can see, they no longer are. It had nothing to do with "guns bad", it was purely about making Bricklink only sells official Lego stuff.

What are some special Lego colors that never made it to the market?

I know that when Legoland in California opened they had a model of the Golden Gate Bridge there built of a special shade of red that was created by Lego specifically for this build (it wasn't the regular red, something between red and salmon).

Do you know of other colors that were never included in any sets?

seems similar to rust color but we'll probably never know

So I'm building this set right now, and the minigame seems easy but fun enough.

The lava mountain and cage (can be lowered with the wheel bit) alone are great, The shields are a nice alternative to the more common models.

I don't think it would work because the large rubber bumper edge of the Lego dice makes the die bounce around so much that any difference in weight would be negligible.

Seriously, the quality issues with their stuff is starting to become unreal.
The paint on the golden dish of my Thanos mech almost completely rubbed off, not by scratching but by simply moving a finger over it.
Gonna report that to customer support and not only due to the piss poor quality but also because that's probably not an isolated case and rubbed-off paint not healthy for kids.
