No. Black Panther is on the Spider UK body (most recent figures to use it are Captain Mar-Vell from the Abomination wave and Guardian from the Wendigo wave)
Venom is on the Hyperion body. Lots of characters are on it, like Bishop, Sabretooth, Gladiator, some others.

The AOA wave is now flooding toy shelves where I'm at. With it looking like the Black Widow wave is going to be yet another "lost" wave I never fucking see at retail.

The only good thing is that it seems to be selling but I have serious fears it's going to be another Lizard wave which stores over-order and clogging Wal-Mart shelves for a year or two.

Also super fucking pissed we are getting the Capullo Sunspot and not the Liefeld version. Though the cynic in me wonders if they are doing this, so they can re-issue the Liefeld Sunspot with a PROPER Cannonball figure (one with actually legs) as a two-pack at some point.

This doesn't come off as a full fledged sequel to me for some reason. It feels like a side game similar to Uncharted: Lost Legacy. It'd make no sense for Spider-Man 2 to be a Miles game after the ending of Spider-Man with Osbourne.

I know that sometimes areas have different lost waves than others depending on what sells out in time for the next wave the be ordered, and I'm worried that I'll be in the opposite pool because my city is flooded with BW wave and I'm not sure how well it'll sell, so AoA might come really late or not at all.

It's one of the most beautiful Hulk figures out there. Huge, good articulation (I do wish the butterfly hinge went forward though), a wonderful shade of green with some good shading. I need no more Hulks after this one.

While I honestly don't care about AoA and passed on the whole wave, it is absolutely popular enough to get a second wave. Maybe a third, but they might not be able to do an AoA BaF for a third wave.

The articulation and proportions can be a pretty ugly, dated, and janky, but you can tell they put soul into a bunch of them with detailed sculpt and extra paint work. I say go for it. I still love the old Beast figure despite it's lack of articulation in the chest.

What the other responses said, but to add to that, it helps to maybe try to find reviews for specific ones you want. They definitely run the gamut in quality and articulation. And just so you know, sometimes they were so OVERarticulated that it just made them into awkward, gangly and unstable messes. And the only time those articulated hands were any good was with the old Iron Fist someone showed off a while back.

Thanos wave had Iron Man Mark 43 with the same kind of helmet. Unfortunately, that was before all the face printing stuff. And since then, IM usually just takes the whole helmet off. But you could get the Homecoming Mk 47, that had an empty open helmet, and then do some dremmeling on the face printed head from the 10th anniversary one. Or there’s a custom head sculpt out there from GI joe eben or something. You have options at least.

On the other hand, almost everyone made so far had a Toybiz figure too, which Revanche didn’t to my knowledge. So she might be pushing it, especially since there’s like four other Psylocke looks people want. But she’s 90’s so fingers crossed. She’d stand out on the shelf.

Hasbro factories are all overseas, mostly in China, India and Vietnam. Like most american corporations these days Hasbro doesn't actually own these factories, they are owned by local business interests and "rented" so to speak by Hasbro. Thus the amount of actual Hasbro employees on-site at any given point is very low, mostly it's low-wage locals who are hired by the factory runners. Plenty of samples that don't pass QC are scheduled to be destroyed, and it's easy enough for those to be fished out of bins or simply for a factory worker to steal a sample from the manufacturing line. Whenever there's an inspection from the Hasbro people all they need to do is not steal anything that day and they can't spot anything. This has been common practice for several decades now, I dunno why you're so surprised by it.

Figures called "Bootlegs" on ebay which are sold loose are often not bootlegs at all but stolen samples. Sometimes a factory will do a "night run", IE after they are officially closed they will manufacture more of the same toys but without their parent company knowing, and then sell it for 100% profit, but it's impossible to know what is what.

New characters don't stick because current Marvel writers have the mentality of a DA or Tumblr artist creating an OC with their own story that they think they own exclusive rights to and nobody else can use without their permission because it's their toy.

New characters only stick when created for the purpose of sharing in the sandbox and giving other people something to use elsewhere.

Mostly the reason why new characters don't hit it big as much now is that the 1990s was the last decade where comics were truly produced for their own sake. The Marvel bankrupcy and near collapse in 1996 crimped their output and after that Quesada came on board with basically the mandate to do whatever he could to keep the company alive. As a result they really doubled down on famous characters, for example destroying the Avengers and filling the roster with their most popular characters like Wolverine and Spider-Man. There just wasn't as much room in post-collapse Marvel for new ideas to hit it big.

I'd argue that the Thunderbolts as a team are one concept that have become successful enough, though many casuals still think they're "Marvel's Suicide Squad". And more recently Miles Morales has become quite big though obviously he's just a derivative of Spider-man and nowhere near unique. otherwise yeah.

I do think toys and the state of the collectors market offer a potential similar but different to how toys and shows were marketed in the 80s and 90s, at least as far as introducing new characters. If you could produce a fun to play with/pose, that looks good/cool, and then writing comics around that character, I could see them getting something out of that.

It could be further details about the movie line but they already announced those figures and showed them off. Hell, I was even able to pre-order the tank top Logan figure from Amazon already. I'm pretty sure this is going to be another cosplay item, possibly based off the movie design.

Guarantee Psylocke is a repaint of the Apocalypse one. I don’t understand the hate for the body though, it’s not the skinny fiend everyone clutches their pearls about. The skinny body is the Silk mold (or Retro Dazzler, Boom Boom, too many to name) but this Psylocke mold is a bit larger in some areas, and has only been used for Psylocke, Blink, and Snowbird to my knowledge.

It’s okay, the body certainly isn’t perfect. Especially because most xmen collectors think Jim Lee proportioned everyone to be on the Moonstone buck (even though Psylocke was basically anorexic in the comics). They improved the elbow joints and the thigh joints, so she’s really flexible. But the paint came out pretty crappy on a lot of them, and the butt was remolded to show less “butt”, which made people upset. I’ve given up trying to explain that this mold is actually better than the one that REALLY gets reused (Boom Boom can’t even hit 90 degrees with her elbows).

But I agree. You (and most people) aren’t buying it for Psylocke. Nimrod looks too cool to pass up.

The reason people hate it, isn't that its not a good body, its just not the body type the character is usually has.

And this is just me, but the head they used for the Apoc Psylocke is fucking garbage. The Silk head would have been a much better choice.

I haven’t read anything since 2015 actually. I dropped off after the Secret Wars relaunch.
I’ve read Duggan’s run of Deadpool, it was okay. Had some good stories but overall just not a fan of the character.
I also read Daniel Way’s absolute garbage run, which is around when the character became such a huge meme.
I don’t really know how else to prove that I actually do read comics, but you can keep talking shit without backing it up if you want.
