I'd bet the entire suit is of that thicker texturized fabric with various things over the top of it. No deep cracks like rubber but possible you might see some separation or minor cracks with some of the painted/vinyl parts layed over the top of it. I'd expect it to look good for at least 5 years though and possibly a lot longer.

Yeah I'm just gonna save for the Yamaguci Spider-Man at this point. Not like I had hopes for this figure but after seeing this thing have a horribly executed torso section, long ass neck that don't work and nonexistent shoulders & waist this only furthers me not purchasing it or buying into hype. The only Spider-Man molds that Hasbro has released in recent years have been the Superior Spider-Man one and the Spider-Man UK one and those are either out of commission or just are straight up for variant suits. Shame hasbro.

I get that and even though Spider-Man was still relatively lean compared to most superheroes, that still doesn't excuse the fact that he was still at least exaggerated, having much wider and meatier legs, specifically in the quads, hamstrings and calves, and while not bulbous, still had a noticeable and presentable chest that wasn't overtaken by his shoulders. His shoulders sat back much more and he had a sleeker v-taper than these other heroes, with his back being one of, if not his best body part. Point is, he looked like a Superhero, and his lankier portrayals in figures looked far more natural and in-line with the impossible, superheroish nature Spider-Man is known for physically than seen on the right. Going back to the right figure, the shoulders should be raised so that the traps aren't covering the shoulders, and there still should be some sort of exaggeration that I keep mentioning. While sure Spider-Man isn't jacked out of his mind like the Hulk or Captain America, relatively speaking his body is much more closer to those builds than anything attainable by any natural and unsynthesized human being, despite being on the leaner side of Superheroes relatively speaking. Remember, when he was bitten by either a radioactive or a chemically enhanced Spider, one of the very first things he noticed outside of any powers was that he gained a much more noticeable muscle amount, but he was still tight and lean, looking more like a man than a boy. That's why the left looks more like Spider-Man than the right.

And I'm not buying the Yamaguchi based off of Revo standards, I'm buying it off of Spider-Man standards. The 'McFarlane' one despite being helmed as the best Spider-Man by thousands, is too lanky for my tastes, the Sinister Six/Snapshots ones while I was considering as my final buys were outdone by the Yamaguchi one, and everything else are either not worth mentioning, too out of scale, variant costumes, QA issues, and won't fit in with any of my other figures that I'm assembling as part of my Figure collection. While the Revoltech may have its problems, I don't have any issue with spending hours at a time just posing a challenging figure whose character I enjoy and with a multitude of cameras.

He's always shit on Hasbro though, because they could do far better than what's come in the past yet they don't. It can never be a nice and beyond with them, just satisfactory, meeting the bare minimum. There's never any love put behind the majority of their most popular characters, and when they do apply that effort, it's to relatively obscure characters. They would rather release mediocrity than anything with effort because we as consumers continue to eat that mediocrity up, raving and praising them and never having the gall to honestly and consistently call them out on bullshit. When was the last time that they've implemented double jointed elbows on their female figures? When was the last time they re-released a BAF as a single figure? When was the last time they painted pegs a different color on the inside than what it is on the outside? When was the last time we could get a figure doing the full splits? Or a good head sculpt and paint job? Or noticeable shading? That's not even beginning to get into the deeper QA issues with them. Bottom line is that they're incredibly inconsistent and the consumer base should call them out for it or take their money elsewhere. But because they use nostalgia bait like this new Spider-Man, and generate false hype for the figure, the consumers continue to eat it up. I'm not saying that Hasbro hasn't come out with quality. Their Doctor Doom from the Super Skrull Wave was some of their best work in years, their 80 years Hulk figure especially was off the charts.

If you want the objectively best Spider-Man figure available, I recommend the Mafex. It's range of motion is quite as extreme as the AY but it's still pretty comparable. That and the sculpt is stylized after Mark Bagley's art, and he's my definitive Spider-Man artist imo.

I think I could have a honest discussion with him without either one of us throwing shit, and I do get that people don't like him because that cynicism can come off as whiny, when Anthony is the only sort of cynical reviewer that balances that out with pretty damn technical reviews objectively speaking, what should that say about the state of say, Toy youtubers today? What does it say when guys like Shartimus who used to be cursing yet calmer all the time and used his bro-casual experience with figures to determine whether a figures good or not while still leaving you entertained and with info in mind, have gone practically off the deep end and are doing full blown 20 minutes of skits and stop motion and patreon shilling? It's kinda refreshing having someone like Anthony not only remain consistently cynical, but take me back to those days when reviewers never took handouts for figures and were honest and had something to say behind tech terms. If someone better comes along, I'll leave and stick to them. I dunno but I'd rather not drool over some TnA or sit through skits, shilling, etc if it means I still don't know if I should buy a figure or not.

Believe me, I wanted to like that figure at first glance and I was about ready to pull out my wallet, but after seeing various reviews online and being able to handle it myself thanks to a few friends who are deep into Mafex, I just couldn't enjoy it. I wished it looked more fully like the one on the packaging, with that consistent red and little washing, while the blue is rich and deep. The diaper waist is also unappealing and while I can get behind the Bagley design, the whole of the figure just left a sour taste in my mouth. I think I was always looking for the Yamaguchi figure in the first place. But that's just me. That's not taking away from the figure for those who do enjoy it. Because to them, it is a good figure and the best it's gonna get, but it's not for me to put over.

Me too. I got the notice yesterday. My CC expired on July 1st and they ended up FINALLY charging my card for it one day after the card expired. Had they shipped it on time, there would have been no issue.

In the end though it didn't really matter cause I found on last week at my local store and picked it up thinking my order was going to be canceled anyways.

Also this figure doesn’t look like the cartoon, even when shopped like that. He’s too buff. The Spider UK body Electro is on would work, but it’s more proportionate overall.

I got one. KOs vary so much though.

He's taller than the real one due to how gappy his knees are and his longer torso. His toe joints are floppy, his overall proportions are off. His eyes are more of a grey than stark white. Wrist peg broke due to normal handling, but other than that seems pretty sturdy. Web holding hands didn't have holes going all the way through. Unmasked head is horrendous.

But he's $20 so...

Pretty cool. If you liked the Retro Iron Man that came out a few months back, it's that mold but with more accessories and overlaying armor. I think he's worth it if you like Iron Man or just want some to add to your Villians collection. He's a bit if a pain to get to stand up on his flight effect parts but looks good when it works. I think if they plan to do this moving forward, then need to make the plastic harder.

Finally got Dark Beast and his calves are two separate pieces - pants and leg. It feels like there SHOULD be rotation, but they're glued together.

What's my best option for removing the glue? Calf-swivels is pretty much the only thing the Beast body is missing to be great.

We got these in the UK earlier this year, or late last year?
Marvel Legends have had next to no presence on UK shelves, I think this was a way to test the waters..
Most of them were straight up re-releases of the BAF wave figures with less accessories. The only worthwhile one was Black Panther because it was a way to get the good Chadwick Boseman head without the purple lines on the suit.

Also I don't even consider Apocalypse's case to be the same thing as what happened with Juggernaut or Kingpin, since AoA Apocalypse is effectively a different character with a significantly different look and has a significant amount of new or updated parts, whereas Jugg had a new helmet and some interchangeable parts and Kingpin is a straight repaint.

This doesn't look very good. I don't know why they made the eyes look like that but they're completely wrong for both Toxin incarnations. The color scheme is clearly going for Pat, but the tendrils coming out of the shoulders and upoer back are from Eddie's time with the Symbiote.

Much like the original Monster Venom BAF, this is an amalgamation of two separate incarnations that fails to really satisfy the need for either.

These toys are kinda cool though. They're obviously more inspired by the movie designs than actually trying to just be them. Yeah, idiots. Once again, Marvel took a great idea and prostituted it to the ends of the Earth and in turn ruined Venom and Carnage. There's no originality left with either character now with all of the symbiote characters running around the MU.

They did the same thing with Spider-Man. Once you introduce tons more "spider-power" characters, Peter looses his originality and you dilute the character. Once he was the cornerstone of Marvel, now he's an afterthought.

Honestly, I really dig it. It takes my favorite parts of each and combines them. Just wish it had the same black Venom emblem that he had after Savage Six. That being said, it’s not comic accurate to one particular appearance at all and I can see why that would be frustrating. Also that we’ve gotten an Eddie version twice now and Pat Mulligan would be an easy one to crap out.

I see nothing wrong with putting out an 18” $100 one; 12” figures with brand new sculpts sold for $50, 18” couldn’t be more than $100. People would buy anywhere from 1-5 I would think, and you could honestly still have people pledge to buy X amount if that’s the concern, with a limit of 3 per person. I have mixed feelings on Holland’s spiderman. LOVE spider punk, objectively good figure and he stands out on a shelf. My issue with PS4 Spidey isn’t with the costume, it’s the figure. A repaint of the 2099 body with a huge head is not satisfactory. Especially when they turned around and made two stellar figures of other suits from the game. Really hope they go back and redo his advanced suit, it needs its own mold.

I agree, most photos make them look pretty bad, but they’re the same legs as the 2099 ones. So I’m okay with it. I got two of them, I really like both heads and it’s classic Spidey so he’ll shoot up in price eventually if I change my mind.

The reason she’s so valuable in the aftermarket is because the Space Venom wave was hilariously under stocked. By the time it really hit, Silk had already become the hard character to find, due to her release right around the same time as her solo series hitting. Plus she’s a spider character (although Ashley Barton was in the same wave, she wasn’t as popular), and people were using her extra head as a base for custom Psylockes at the time.

Just to get it out of the way, Iron Man was my favourite MCU character up until Iron Man 3. Whedon ruined him completely with the shitty smug crap, which Tony did before but in Avengers it was just way too much and continued in all other movies. By Age of Ultron, he was literally a villain. What probably bothers me the most about him being front and center is that he was supposed to come off as relatable when he was everything else but that. By the end, Cap and Hawkeye were the only sympathetic and honest characters. Everyone else was just a quipping or narcissistic retard. My biggest surprise would actually be Black Widow being good for once since Iron Man 2 in Endgame but that's another story.
Spidey shouldn't be a part of the Avengers if you ask me because he always works best alone. Even ASM's version of Spider-Man was superior.... it's just that the scripts could have been better
