I think redeco Prime might be a repaint of G1 Prime with battle damage for the movie anniversary. Prime makes 10 years this november too so it makes sense for many of RED figures to focus on it.

Although if Kingdom does well (also Galaxy Upgrade Prime and Selects Hot Shot), there's a pretty good chance Hasbro will start considering other generations in their generationS line.

Hey, I think Warden set up a plan for them to explore other Generations after doing the definitive versions of 84 cast with Earthrise and 86 too. Like, I think that's what he wanted, he always said at cons that every generation will get their line at one point. Kingdom is just the beginning. It ended not canceled. The guy said the toy line continues but it might be a new show and not cyberverse that uses the same evergreen designs. They are very similar. It seems that every TF show might use the evergreen designs from now on.

Yeah, I mean the year's nearly over and I'm still on wave 1 of Earthrise. Though I did manage to nab Doubledealer.

I'm Australian, so shipping from the US is absolutely fucked. I already lost a BBTS shipment that's probably going to be destroyed in customs because Australia isn't accepting economy shipments from the US, and I only learned of this after paying for my preorder (and the fuckers didn't answer my emails--sent about 2 business days in advance--asking them to upgrade my shipment to express. They FINALLY got back to me after it had left the warehouse and were like, durr, once it's out of the warehouse it's out of our hands. MAYBE ANSWER YOUR EMAILS FASTER, FUCKO)

Of course express shipping from BBTS is ridiculously expensive and takes about the same time to arrive in Australia as economy air mail, so I've cancelled all my other preorders and have no intention of using them until America gets its shit together.

I had to get an order cancelled once because Amazon had it cheaper and delivered faster, and they wouldn't respond at all.
Was on the phone 5 minutes and it was solved.

Elita looks good. Hate the tan though. I get why they are giving her more peach, red and tan instead of pink though. It's nice she is getting more unique takes on her color scheme so she stands out as an individual instead of being just another pink fembot like Arcee is. Yes, but few and far between. There's a couple of franchinses, even within the same brand, so they get different stock. And Australia is a massive country, and one end of the country might get all the stock of a particular wave, and no one else get any.

Then there's rampant overpricing, Hasbro AU refusing to ship all waves here - we've also just heard we probably won't be getting Netflix wave 2, because they have underestimated how popular wave 1 was, so they're keeping all the stock for the US.

Exclusive toy? Maybe EB Games will stock it for an exorbitant price! And if not, fuck you, you don't deserve exclusives.

Or possibly a clothing chain will pick up the G1 reissues and just not advertise them anywhere at all ever, so fans only know they're being sold when someone stumbles across the last one in a store by accident.

Do you like a responsive Hasbro, who answer your questions about whether stock is going to be sold here, so we can buy things when they're released everywhere else in the world 6 months earlier? FUCK YOU, you don't deserve customer service.

Sigh. At least we can purchase things online from chains that do get the stock in, right? I mean, I really want that Springer. FUCK YOU. There's five toys in that Voyager wave, and you'll get whichever one we want to package for you (whichever is closest to hand) so you can buy 5 Voyagers online and get the same fucking toy five times.

And then there's the fact that thanks to a guy who can't sell his overpriced TVs, most overseas webstores don't like dealing with Australia anymore because they need to charge GST on all items sold to Australians, and they don't want to deal with that, so FUCK YOU with that, too.

Honestly, Earthrise is probably going to be the last line I want a lot from. Other this, I am going to maybe buy the occasional toy. Same as I do with Star Wars. You just cannot get things here.

Warden was good at running the line in a way that let us get a decent mix of fembots finally. I hope the new guy continues the trend. Strongarm and PoTP Elita were highlights in recent years for me just because of how unlike any other prior female transformer there were. They still looked 100% female but they had their own unique look instead of being copy paste body type.

The only media I've consumed is Animated, the first three Bay films + Bumblebee and the WfC/FoC games (also a handful of G1 season 3 episodes).
I could have watched the UT growing up but for whatever reason I wasn't interested in it.
I recently watched the first season of BW though and I thought that was good.

I hope the WFC really skyrockets Elitas popularity and she gets more of a second in command role with Prime. The dynamic is far more interesting. Like I know some people don't love the romantic aspect since they're robots - but I think it makes for better story telling potential having a character like Elita that Prime is so emotionally close to, it adds depth to his characterization and gives a chance for the female characters to take leading roles and not just be side characters that pop in and out. Crazy to think in the last 10 years we went from Arcee being the only female character to get any development ever - to now having multiple female autobots that each have distinct personalities and aren't just playing a token role where being female IS the character trait. Arcee being a warrior, Windblade a bit of a rookie, Elita a leader, Strongarm an authority figure, Chromia a bit of a cynic - it took decades, but finally rounding things out is nice.

Anyway I briefly got back into Transformers after the release of FoC but that interested petered out since I didn't have much disposable income at the time.
I got back into the series last year after I discovered the Studio Series since it ignited the little but of nostalgia I had and that lead me down the slippery slope.

Agreed, I'm hoping that's what they do. I feel that shows without romance are a little off putting, but it's not good to slam it in the face. Gotta hit that sweet spot, like how they did it in Voltron (imo it was done well).
My response to the whole "it's robots" is that they are actually living creatures and have souls.
And every creatures goal is to turn them lights down low and reproduce. Hence gender. Also, we're human, and like to apply our standards to everything we see.

I'm also hoping they do it with the Deception Fembots. Arachne was always a Taiwanese stripper idol, and seems more like the adultry icon, but the seekers and (I guess female starscream from animated falls here) the rest always felt awesome in the shows. Hopefully they get good rep here too.

I just wish they'd start using and writing Hot Rod more effectively. IDW nailed it with his personality in Lost Light and him navigating how to be a real leader. On the Arcee topic again - I really enjoyed her interactions with Prowl in the IDW series, it was some of the most interesting aspects to me. Prowl and Arcee both being a bit unhinged and enabling of each other was interesting.

It's because people want them to be just all war and no personal relationships. But yeah they're robots and they fight. But there has to be a reason why they fight, why they want the freedom. Of course they will form close bonds and romantic bonds or "partnerships" are expected. It's not interesting storytelling to make it completely unrelateable to the viewer or reader. The Bay movies are a good example - they left the robots to fight and the humans to have the relationships and personality and be who the viewer relates to - but like, why bother watching Transformers if you are here for what the humans are doing?

Plus removing gender and romance just backs things into a corner because it will eventually come up if the series runs long enough and that's why we got IDW turning so socially political and having gay robots and trans robots and other things. At least they were able to get female bots in towards the end of things and balance it. This new run luckily doesn't have the same burden - but the tone is definitely influenced by the past run because of those things.

I think that's a big reason why there isn't a ton of SJW outrage constantly over Transfomers media honestly. They are one of the few franchises that somehow naturally progressed into these topics and female characters coming into plat in recent years without having to do so from controversy. I think the fan votes let Hasbro get a good head start on realizing fans DID want more female bots once Windblade and Victorion were both voted female consecutively.

It's just nice to see the franchise progresses at its own pace and doesn't have to cave to outside pressure in order to get to these points.

Gimme all three, inter-character relationships are always good.
But an issue is whenever you show two characters being close friends the fans are always like "lmao they totally want to fuck each other!!" because a concept of a best friend seems to be lost on them.

That's very true, IDW took (and still is) taking a lot of the criticisms during the transition for TF, but they also did change with the world.
As Chris's basics video on Arcee shows, there were pushes internally to put more female characters in. I just guess that once they opened up to the fan base more and we got Windblade like you mentioned, did they fully realize the wants of the fans.
And God yeah the Bayverse sucked because of that. I feel that all of the designs were wasted on those movies. I was a teen when the first one was released, and rewatching it recently just showed how dumb and vulgar the movie was. And the sequels just kept it going.
At least I got my Dinobots from it.

What I do is more like an image analysis, used to help educate and calibrate AI's.
I got lucky and started working for my current company after I quit Apple (shittiest company in the world, I enjoyed it till the force promoted me into a schedule that I couldn't keep, and that's just one problem with them), and shortly after they started requiring college experience. So I was basically grandfathered in.
I also got a pay raise up from 16 an hour to 21, and thanks to Corona I get to sit at home and work.
Hence me being on these boards more instead of lurking, and now having play money for my TF collection

The fuck you on? I've never had any experience of somewhere not liking it outside of Amazon initially refusing to ship into Australia from overseas. And in general because I am getting to the point where they are a bunch of fucking snakes he act like nothing is right either with Travis Knight or Michael Bay they criticized Travis Knight for turning decepticon who looks like generation 1 starscream into blitzwing and killing cliffjumper off early on and calling him worse than Michael Bay and Bumblebee didn't even deserve critical acclaim. All I wanted to say to those fucks is if they don't like what critics have to say then they could just die. All they cared about is just a Cybertron scene in the film and that's it acted like the film is just too sappy and all they wanted all along was a generation 1 reboot in the live-action style. listen up if Bumblebee was really as bad as they said it was then critics and audiences wouldn't come out satisfied.

Elita-1 looks pretty good besides the backpack, leagues better than Arcee does.
Impactors deco looks neat (though I don't like the legs) the purple sheen adds a lot but I'm unlikely to get it.
Soundwave looks really cool, I'm still not sure if I want it though.
I'm still debating if I should get Bee or not or if I should kitbash it with my KBB Hornet.

For the record, tha smaller one here is the takara version and the deluxe is Hasbro, which is why there are paint issues. The Hasbro version of the smaller one has almost no paint in any mode.

As for the bigger one, I like the face sculpt on the deluxe better, and the head being on a ball joint helps so much. Unfotunately her backpack is pretty big, she has oven mitts and she feels super hollow.

Still like her though.

I just wish there wasn't so much unpainted grey plastic. If they couldn't afford to paint anything else at least mold Shockwave and Reflector in their respective colors. I'd prefer the drill gun in black and jet pack to be red as well so I could just paint the smaller details silver.

They don't need to be better. They're already good. In fact the original toys is already good enough. Unlike G1 where it was made in the 80s and thus outdated. It's why G1 toys been getting so much remakes. But UTshit toys are well made they don't need modern updates, and everytime there is you zoomers complain that it's worse than the original.

It's just blind nostalgia. Objectively and factually anything not UT is good, even worse than Machinima web series, the shitty IDW comics and Beast Machines. UT just pulls so many bullshit tropes from cartoons that doesn't belong in Transformers such as Super modes and micromasters that attach to give extra power. It spits on everything G1 establish not to mention scripts were rushed and poorly written. Armada was a pokemon ripoff with Unicron at the end because the mutated nihongoes realised they fucked up. Energon is the worst Transformers show and Cybertron is only marginally better but not much. Animated is far better as it's a love letter to TRUE Transformer fans and so does the Bayverse.

With WFC being focused on the original G1 continuity as a whole thus also including BW which technically was part of the original G1 timeline I'm betting the next trilogy could actually be based on the Unicron Trilogy since 2022 will be Armada's 20th anniversary that year so starting the trilogy off of that would be pretty fitting if you ask me.

the idea that the UT was less popular than BW is blatantly untrue, I think a lot of fans who came on board after it don't have the perspective of how much Armada helped grow the line. Beast Wars never surpassed having 23 new molds per year, and its final year had less than 20 new molds. Beast Machines nearly got the line killed, and its second year had half the amount of releases. wal-mart threatened to drop the line. Transformers didn't have the eternal retail footprint it has now.

RiD was so popular, retailers demanded more product. Hasbro had to pad out the line with a ton of different redecoes from other lines to meet demand. Compared to BW, Armada had around 50 new molds. Energon too, in addition to sharing retail space with the Universe line Hasbro had to create to fill the increased demand for Transformers.

Beast wars bought back Transformers, but Rid and armada grew it into the powerhouse it remans today.

Sideways is one of my favorite character for actually outplaying both sides and did it with subtlety his plans wasn't outright revealed from the beginning. I wish the UT anime were redone to have continuity. Sideways would be from Planet X and along with other inhabitants of the planet wage war on Cybertron before the Autobot and Decepticon factions were even formed. Only to suffer a humiliating defeat that result in the planet's destruction and leaving him and Soundwave as the only survivor so they sell themselves to Unicron in exchange for his gifts. That way Sideways would enact his revenge on Cybertron as a whole.

I always wonder what would've happened if Hasbro bought BWII/Neo instead of Beast Machines. 2000 was peak animeboom. Maybe BWII would've been tricky because half the line was already released in America in 97 but maybe make it a trimmed down miniseries on Fox Kids and lean on Neo as the 2000 line.

Armada Hot Shot however is an inherently shit design. Unless you completely change the way he transforms, you would need to put in some serious, jizai-tier work into the engineering.

Same. I will say that some of the aesthetics get a little weird though. I have RiD warrior class Skywarp, Soundwave, and Blastwave and they look a little out of place next to...everyone else. lol

Also, some of the movie figures I have are great, but their heads typically look like messes next to Generations figures. Oh, well. Still love all of them.

Thank you, I was told I was summoned, this is a pretty neat custom. Hope he gets an actual toy beyond just a neat reference for a Wreckers comboner. He's arguably more obscure than Rack'n'Ruin now, and he literally was no longer able to transform - unless he shows up in Cyberverse, a toy of him is near-zero odds.

Same here, kinda, UT should have been my childhood series but I missed it (though I remember catching one episode and it has Starscream in it I like) I didn't get into an actual series until Animated which I couldn't even enjoy fully since no nearby stores sold Animated toys and my parents thought they looked too childish to buy.
Oh well, I own versions of Slipstream, Bulkhead and Lockdown so it's fine now.

For a lot of kids and even adult collectors, RiD/UT were the first deep exposure to "old fashioned" Transformers that turned into vehicles. I know RiD was for me; I was born in the early 90s and Beast Wars/Machines was what I knew.

I'm in a weird spot, myself. I was born in '92, so well after G1. However, though I didn't have any G1 toys, my first exposure to the franchise was the animated movie and some vhs tapes of the show, so I was already familiar with the idea of Transformers becoming vehicles and other machines. I did have one transforming front end loader toy like Scrapper, but I don't think it was Transformers brand. The robot mode was entirely different. Beast Wars was the first time I really started getting the toys. I only got a couple Beast Machines and RiD toys, when those were relevant. Armada was the last time I bought any of the toys as a kid, but I had a decent number of them. Then I got rid of all but my RiD Galvatron a few years ago when moving between states in an effort to clean out my stuff to have less to move, only to get back into collecting Transformer last year.

I missed out when it aired. I lived with my super Christian grandparents who thought the show was Satanic but the toys weren't, and thought Power Rangers DinoThunder wasn't. So that's all I got to watch.

Oof I can understand the cyber keys, but give my minicons a chance. I own a bunch still and little figures are just awesome. I've got all the ones currently out for Seige and a bunch from Armada, but when they got their own faction in Armada I was hyped. I liked thier story as well in the series.
I place them right next to the masters at least, as they're just great fiddle toys.

Thought it was dum to have a rando collect-them-all tool to unlock weapons, but powermasters seem like a cute concept, and I'm actually loving SOME Siege micromasters (weapon modes suck tho) so I definitely would have enjoyed minicons, maybe I'll pick some rando loose ones up at TFcon.
