Any tips on using studio? I feel like it's so much easier to brainstorm and create shit when you can feel it. It's a lot harder when you have to find pieces specifically using searchbars and scrolling and shit.

I dunno! I have the Grand Emporium from ages ago but I've yet to open it. I'm thinking about the book store too.

I wish I got into modulars sooner. The Diner is unappealing to me since its not from the same architectural era/style. I'm sad I missed out on the Parisian Restaurant.

So I bought this second hand. What is the best way to motorize it? I've seen systems using wheels and chains but also direct propulsion of the cart. And are the knock-off engines any good or should I just buy from Lego?

Went to the lego store. They got restocked partly but didn't have two of the main things I was looking for which was the bookstore and assembly square. On the bright side they still had two haunted houses which are listed as limit reached online and barracuda bay so was able to pick those up.

what up /lg/... I mentioned a little while ago I am taking apart a bunch of sets to get ready to move and decided to take and post pics before tearing them all up. Here are a couple small classic kino Pirates sets I wound up with by winning a Black Monarch Castle set on ebay. It was my first big used Lego score. The seller advertised it as Black Monarch's Castle but it also contained most of these two Pirates sets as well as Black Knight's Castle. This first one is 1795 Imperial Cannon.

Hello /lg/, here are some more pics of sets I am about to dismantle. After ~30 year dark age I have spent an enormous amount of money on Lego over the last 10 months. After getting some Adventurers Deserts sets I discovered Pharaoh's Quest, and as anons have mentioned on here it is a spiritual successor to Adventurers. No, the customers did nothing wrong.
The helicopters don't fly because they're lacking a tail rotor to keep them stable and people flat out started measuring the height of the pieces on the Ferrari and noticed that there is like half a millimeter difference between the cockpit space and the windscreen - may sounds completely ridiculous and miniscule but it's still visible at this scale and simply doesn't fit unless you take out the two pieces that make up the seat so you can rotate the figure further back.

Pro tip; build up a wall behind the band, remove some of the wall at the bar and turn it into more of a booth

Right now all my attention goes from the minifig cluster straight to the ugly brown and tan wall (too big for just the bar, too small for the entire room), hard to even notice the band, which should be the focus of the MOC

again really great anon, i would really try not to ruin stickers, i'd get new stickers or swap out unstickered ones. Official stickers arent as durable as the bricks themselves and way way more rare. Getting a replacement brick without one is the better option.

It's not all that bad. But there are more /v/ mindset underage posters it feels. People still post nice stuff, we had a bunch of nice contests and cool builds (themepark anon and spaceship anon, lq is still at it.
The only way to raise the level of quality is to post your own neat stuff and encourage others to do so by example. I'll be sure to post what i've been cooking up for the last while when i get all the orders in.

Also, take out the 4x4 rings fron the shoulders and put them somewhere like under the shuriken on the back.

I managed to get one. I couldn't log into my fucking account so I just did it as a guest and I'll complain later to get them to add the points to my account. First try payment failed, then the entire site crashed. Second, it added 2 to my cart and I couldn't remove one. Third time it worked.

Reddish-brown seems to be the predominantly weak color due to the way they mixed the plastic

Never use acetone as it works by melting the plastic.
There are two ways that I know of.

I've used the Brasso method. You tape over any prints you want to keep. Then you use a q-tip to apply a small amount of Brasso to the print you want to heresy and gentally rub it in a circular motion until it's gone. Then you give it a good wash off with some warm water and remove the tape from the other print. Or at least that's what I remember doing, it was a few years ago that I did this.

As for the eraser. It's much the same, except instead of rubbing Brasso onto the offending print with the Q-tip, you just rub it with the eraser.

Literally everything “vintage” has skyrocketed in price thanks to COVID, not just LEGO.

Retro games have been on a price hike over the years but if you look at graphs they’ve spiked severely this year. An example is Silent Hill 2 was $15 - $20 a couple years ago and now goes for $150.

Even vintage cameras went up. I shoot 35mm film and all of the lenses and bodies have gone up at least 35% it’s fucking annoying

I'd love to do Castle too, but two factors stonewall me.
1. There'd be a lot of blood and gore, so a lot of pieces(mainly minifigures) are gonna end up mutilated for the sake of my craft, which is gonna cost me a lot.
2. I'm gonna have to figure out how to create a horse that looks like its legs move(that's autistic of me, yes, but the main Horse design just looks awful if you're trying to make motion a concept. Dragons don't have the same problem, thanks to the Vikings sets.

Use some clay/putty to simulate the destroyed pieces. For example, a figure would have a pristine head, some blood or clay is added with incurred damage, and eventually the head is entirely gore (at this point it would also be entirely replaced with clay and can be smeared and splattered as you will).

It literally hasn't been started yet. I'm waiting for until we move before I can even think of scrounging up space to start creating. And after that point it's gonna take a lot of resource gathering and picture taking and other things before said comic can even be created.
