I built the bookshop and its got some weird as fuck design choices. A basement area that can't fit a minifigure standing up, tiny little rooms that lack detail, the fact it can seperate into two different modular pieces and the bookshop itself lacks many books at all.

Always and forever and most importanty right now. America is the biggest supporter of Lego and got Lego through its hardest time in life as a company by supporting Binkle and Star Wars because there are so many Star Wars fans here because its the greatest country on earth, consistently pumping out the greatest media like Star Wars doing you a big favor so you and your third world brothers have a little joy in your life when you can afford to go to the movies in between having refugee welcome parties and shitting in the street. Its bad enough that Monkie Kid isnt im regular stores here, that the summer sets are delayed for us every year when other countries get them first, but not having them on August 1st when I have been patiently waiting all summer on quarantine from a virus YOUR country probably created and spread to us, is absolutely inexcusable. So don't tell me we don't deserve them.

What item are you referring to? I ordered a Lego NES for myself and after I made the purchase, I decided to get my nephew one before they were possibly scalped (who knows with nintendo shit). I have since received only one confirmation of an order and that was very delayed. It's been about 12 hours for me as well.

Well you and i seemed to order around the same time and since then I've got a confirmation on only one item. If you got the funds and REALLY want this then perhaps order again because you can always cancel but pro tip: Lego is awful about canceling. They ship super quickly (which is nice if you're not wanting to canel) and once it's shipped, it's shipped. I believe you still have to call as well if you want to cancel...im not sure. Either way I think returning it unopened to a Lego store can be a pain too. If its over a certain amount, they'll only give you store credit.

I think their site and system is heavily fucked right now from last night. Even their customer support line is giving the busy tone dial. I got charged three times for the NES set when trying to make my order. It took overnight before I got the email/account order verification. Now I am just waiting for their phones to stop exploding.

Modulars peaked with Parisian Restaurant and have been going downhill since. The Diner doesn’t fit the aesthetic of the previous ones at all, Corner Garage has the worst piece/price ratio of any modular and also has bizarre design choices, and the Bookshop has all the issues you mentioned.

I called the lego store 600+ times and got nothing but busy signals, redirects to a blank voice mail, and one person hanging up. I'm tempted to just go complain in person if they tell me I had to call for curbside pick up or they sold out of the free gifts.

Lego makes various parts in random colours as test molds, for example, the Vader 2.0 helmet - it's been made in black, trans light blue, green, red, white, flesh, yellow, bright pink, azure, trans orange, and probably a few others I'm forgetting

Something I learned very quickly as a child was that as far as entertainment goes video games always were the best value. Even when that new game cost $50 and you could buy 10 action figures for the same price, 1 video game greatly outweighs 10 action figures.

A huge $200 lego set or model kit could maybe give you as much enjoyment as a single video game, but gain for four times the price. Given how huge video games became it seems I wasn't the only one who reached such a conclusion.

I find that, even though they're fun, video games have no sense of accomplishment or tangible meaning at the end of the day; sure they pass time, you meet friends online and whatever, but in the grand scheme of it all, it's all just pixels - you can't hold what you've earned unless you go pro and win cash in tournaments

I find Lego and other figures/toys bridge the gap while allowing you to be creative; video games don't do that, unless you're talking about Minecraft, but even then they're pointless

I much prefer to have a tangible product that I put effort and time into instead of a character skin or camo that took 100s of hours to unlock (Damascus in Modern Warfare, for example - I earned that and still felt empty in a sense, it didn't feel like an achievement whatsoever)

I quit gaming after that and focused on Lego - it's a lot more fulfilling imo

I saw Jang at a Target store in California yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a nuisance and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

When she took one of the polybag and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each polybag and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Should I get the parts in sand green or dark green? Olive is not an option because some parts don't exist, I may do one in olive eventually but right now I want to do this build in sand green or dark green.

Dark green is the "regular" green color. Earth green is the darker green than that. I'd go with sand green either way if you want to keep it looking more pale.

Lorewise they're Anakin's personal clone legion and the guys that Anakain brings with him to attack the Jedi Temple, and would go on to join the Empire and become Vader's personal Stormtrooper squad.

Setwise the overall package is a pretty nice deal for a $30 Star Wars set
>6 figs with no named characters so you get your fill of armybuilding both Clones and Droids if you're into that sort of thing
>2 vehicle builds that are different enough on their own
>Piece/Price count is actually around the norm (285pc/$30 vs 235pc/$30 for the Landspeeder)
>The 501st trooper figs included were only ever available in two sets from 2013 and even then you only got one in each set so they were probably a bitch to armybuild affordably.
For reference, the old 501st clone trooper goes for ~$20 on Bricklink right now, while the new ones are averaging ~$10 each.

tl;dr it's mostly just armybuilding autism.

I still like both.
I don't agree that videogaems have no sense of accomplishment or even lack of creativity. But Creativity having a physical object at the end is more satisfying.

Basically Lego: allows me to live in the nostalgia of the bricks and pieces, design stuff and try to make it work IRL so it's stable and fun to handle with your hands and have characters i enjoy. but expensive
Videogames: fragging some guy out of the air with a rocketlauncher while moving around at mach 5 speed giving you a very 'embodied' experience that Lego bricks don't give me. (Not dissing any anons that like to go pew pew realtime playing with toys, i did that a lot as a kids but nobody to share that with anymore. and my headcanon is too specific or film inspired to make sense. I'm glad I had the pew pew kids play experience as a kid.)

Bought the Dots picture frames as a cheap set to qualify for the promo, and I’m honestly not mad at it. Lots of cool tiles for designs. Prob gonna use for pictures, but they work as minifig displays as well
