When it comes to art, you can be skilled and create bad art.
People literally go to art school and come out creating worse art than they entered, despite learning more
It's because the artist sometimes doesn't see their style objectively.
For that barricade, the softness, and the pudgy face is pretty out of place with the hard edges of metal, and the color scheme isn't doing any favors.
If you can't see how a casual can look at that and cringe, or if you don't think that makes it bad, you don't really get art
Art is only art because it conveys something from the artist to the viewer
If the artist is going for a reaction but gets the opposite, the art failed it's one job.
