Because Googling images usually doesn't show you stuff like range of motion, point out in-hand issues with the figure, or let you see the actual real item you will be receiving rather than just pristine promotional bullshots.

There are plenty of reasons for toy reviews to exist, and exactly none of them are "this guy knows that Magneto's favorite food is chocolate donuts."

The divergence there is where taste comes in. As I'm sure you've seen, reviewers are a very divisive topic, and even someone who ticks all the right boxes on paper will likely have extreme lovers and haters. It's a simple consequence of personality and voice featuring heavily in video reviews, and those can easily rub people the wrong (or right) way.

What I am saying is that when I am picking a reviewer, my pool of choices is much wider than yours, as I am willing to go outside the small group of people who have read all 304 issues of the source material AND can make a competent toy review. Just the competent toy review is enough for me. That is literally what I came for.

My problem isn't the scale necessarily. It's more that Hasbro hasn't attempted to give us the same design in ML scale. Of course, I fear that if they did release an update, it might become a BAF or deluxe exclusive.

the im2 line was incredible. i cannot believe there were so many armors and many of them comic based. ok the silver centurion wasn't that great and neither was the neo-classic but they tried and for a movie line that was pretty remarkable. really hope hasbro leans from this last silver centurion fuckup and does the modular and layton armors proud.

I loved the bulkiness of this fig. The colors were a little off and the pauldrons and hip articulation were shit but man it looked great on the shelf. And also one of the few toy armors and looked like there could be a guy inside of it.

That was the First Avenger line, it did have a great comic Winter Soldier though. The only complaint about that toyline was that most of the Caps came with gimmick shields.
Crossbones was great too.

Marvel Universe figures started going to shit pretty quickly after First Avengers.

You can push some more than others, but you aren't getting , say, the range of an SHF of course. the articulated underbody is about as good as a Marvel Legends with a a better torso, but the cloth can limit it. And generally the comic based figures use a more articulated body.

This looks so generically stale. Usually the MCU has been pretty spot on with translating comic costumes to real life but these aren't even close. I don't know what the tone of the movie is going to be, but they should've gone for comedy and stuck with the OG goofy costumes.

Brian Tyree Henry’s character is Phastos, a c-lister even for the Eternals. He’s got basically no character development so he’s kind of a blank slate. Never been confirmed gay or straight, but yeah they basically made up the gay thing for the movie. And his husband doesn’t even have a name to my knowledge; he doesn’t exist in the comics.

I dunno if it will hurt sales specifically, but no one gives a shit about the Eternals so Disney is basically just using a property and making stuff up about it. That’s why all the characters aren’t white, why all their costumes are muted and lame, why some of them are now gay, etc. I don’t really care because I’m not going to wig out over “muh forced agenda” but admittedly it does seem like they’re pandering to the woke crowd because for once they’re not pigeon holed into comic nerds crying over accuracy.

I'll admit don't know anything about the Eternals, but to me they look pretty generic and forgettable, just another group of normal people in spandex.

I can immediately see the potential in Guardians though. While Quill and Gamora look pretty forgettable, you've got a big green tattooed guy wielding dual knives, a giant tree guy, and a bipedal raccoon with big guns. It already looks like a good time before you even know the first thing about the characters.

Also, until someone confirms it with a teardown, who's to say that pinless figures can't be swapped? It will all depend on how those joints terminate at either end. Hoping it's a simple rectangular peg, maybe with some notches and such for friction.

It's just the pic that made me realize the item was missing in the fist place. I saved it a while ago and when I tried to find a source, I couldn't.
I then visited a few online stores looking for the figure and I found out the funko was missing from a bunch of them (not the major retailers tho) despite being still listed on search engines.
I thought the stores just ran out of copies, then I realized most of them just featured a "out of stock" page for, well, out of stock figures.
The zombie black panther had its page removed altogether for some reason, which I found peculiar.

So I searched on social networks for clues, and I discovered the item was being shared as an edgy meme by several accounts/pages, with a few sensitive people getting outraged in the comments.
Which made me wonder if some of the minor stores removed it to avoid any kind of controversy.

I'm not saying the figure went out of production before release, but I found the whole thing funny regardless.

Meh. Ice got most of the MU in the particular costume I prefer for each character at this point so I'm pretty good. Things like pinless joints aren't enough of an upgrade to me to replace what I currently have. There are a handful of characters left that I want figures of but other than that, I can move in and focus on other properties.

Are there any cheap MLs with knives, remotely like these or otherwise? The old Warpath figure is pricy as hell by now, and even if it's not totally accurate for the outfit currently coming out, he just looks so cool with knives, and Hasbro knew enough to at least give us hands for them even if they weren't kind enough to give the knives.

Huh, didn't know she directed as well as acted. And her first film averaged 96% on RT. I think it's a bit risky to throw a director with only one film under their belt at a Marvel movie, but I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

To me, she was an absolute bombshell, and a good actress, but now that she’s 30+, Hollywood doesn’t see the sex appeal anymore I guess. Damn shame. But as for her movie, Booksmart was awesome. If you liked Superbad back in the day, you’ll love it. And I’m hoping it’s more of a James Gunn, Taika Waititi situation where we get a director with a fresh take on something. Agreed, we need more directors in the MCU with a clear vision and voice like Gunn and Watiti. Those two made my absolute favorite movies of the bunch, which makes sense, as I loved their work before they came to the MCU. Gonna watch Booksmart, hope she brings something new to the table.

Also, why is this so horribly boring? They could have at least done something interesting with the symbiote bonding with the circuitry or becoming a crude techno-organic version of the IM suit. I think that’s my problem with it. There’s actual cool designs out there for symbiotes, like Mania or the Venomverse versions of Cap, BP, Doctor Strange, etc. But you look at this, or the upcoming figures of Venomized Miles and Cap, and the designs on the shitty Maximum Venom tv show, and they look like ass. It’s literally just the character with teeth and goop, I don’t know why that’s what people want. I want them to be like Spider-Man: a black, semi-remiscient design. But instead you get shit like a giant Baby Groot Funko POP half covered in oil and his face is half smiling and half Piranha Plant. I fucking hate this shit

They blew their load last year with the X-Men releases and the 80th Anniversary stuff. Plus the MCU is pretty much over at this point, especially with Chadwick Boseman passing away. Only C-listers to fill out teams are left really.

Eh, they’ll find ways to rope people back in. They’ll finish off the 90’s x-men stuff, then rotate between the classic 70’s and 80’s looks, and modern House of X stuff. Maybe they’ll do movie versions with the black suits, who knows.
As for what’s left outside of X-Men, a ton of spidey villains either need doing or rereleasing. Sandman, rhino, lizard, chameleon, hopefully some Raimi Spider-Man stuff. There’s still a ton of classic Avengers who haven’t been made, and you could space them out with versions of the main characters we haven’t seen yet. The Captain, Neo Classic Iron Man, bearded Thor, etc. Fantastic Four could see yet another costume release (Future Foundation and the Blue and White outfits are pretty much the only ones people would go for, I think) but there’s still Mole Man, Annihilus, Kang, Awesome Andy and the Mad Thinker, tons of classic villains unreleased.

Don’t get me wrong, the movies are pretty much what revived this line in the first place. Not sure what will happen if that goes away. Hopefully sales of stuff like X-Men is enough to keep the series alive, I don’t see a world where Hasbro hasn’t been making more money than ever, but I also don’t think Legends has the profit margin of GI Joe or even Power Rangers.
