I separate it into true scale and Lego scale in my head, I call true scale something like the UCS Falcon which can seat all 4 figures in a way that is accurate to real life, and I call Lego scale something like the playset Falcons that can carry a couple figures but it's obviously not accurate, I set a minifig height as comparable to real units do to how stylized they are and that accessories are often disproportionate to what they would be in real life

I'm completely open to the classic smiley face being made in all sorts of other colours besides yellow though. I have a reddish brown one and made a cute jungle/bat person out of it. I'm not really interested in representation in my toys though as i'd much rather use a bright pink, lime or white classic smiley for vampires and kooky toyish stuff. Also a friendly reminder not to derail threads with political discussion too much. The most popular board since 2016 is overspilling too much and it's considered poor ettiquette in my book. It was the season when they brought Ninjago back after people asking to come back.
It had some solid ideas (Zane and Pixal relationship, Borg, Reprogramed Wu) but it fell flat and rushed. Mainly because it was just 8 episodes.
The worst part are weak battles and that horrible forced Cole/Nya/Jay relatonship that just was in this season.

Making a show/movies is secondary to the business of making the actual sets, so it gets secondary effort/budget.

I did. I was really conflicted because she worshiped me and had a pretty face but she had a terrible body. When it comes down to it if my dick says no thats pretty much it for a relationship. In my opinion, the first one is the only one worth watching. It skirts the line between "good movie" and "good movie for kids" as only lord and miller writing and directing can do.
Second one is super forgettable
Batman is ok, but it feels like it's written by people who don't actually know much about batman (making multiple jokes about adam west batman as if it wasn't supposed to be a comedy)
Haven't seen ninjago but I can't see it being any different

Also past the first movie they started using a lot more "real" effects for water, explosions etc, as opposed to brick built effects. I felt it undercut the really cool animation work done in the first movie

I think it is the bue one. Look at subtle difference between mummys black legs color and sarcophagi color. Anyway it doesn't make sense to just reuse black bottom for no reason when blue is already included. However I see some of these pillars with cartouche printing are taken from Sphinx set. Temple comes with 4 of them, alt build shows 6.

I just used the "Buy Replacement Bricks" feature on LEGO.com to basically get the minifigs I wanted from those sets, bypassing the ridiculous prices entirely. Heck, the spider queen and horned demons just arrived in the mail today. Don't know if they're still available, but it's worth a shot.

The new HP CMF wave is great for fantasy. I got a dumbledore for wizardry and the pheonix, and the goblin comes with 2 keys and the sword of gryffindor. It almost makes up for not being able to find the knight or viking from last CMF wave.

I planned to make a custom squad and rules for the game too with unique abilities for each character but right now I'm stuck at making the squad.

Checking out the clip pieces I sanded and left connected for over a month now.

The first LEGO Movie was legitimately good. I think the LEGO Batman movie is overrated. The Ninjago movie sucks, and the LEGO Movie 2 is about as good as the Batman movie.

Also this might be a stupid question but even before covid replacement parts took like a month to turn up, why does it take so long? In my mind all the bricks should be in containers numbered and in some order, when they get an order they get a sheet of box numbers and number of pieces and just need to grab them shouldn't take long at all, what takes them so long?

I genuinely baffles me that Lego doesnt re-release sets.

The demand is there. It's not a difficult or expensive thing to do. They've had success with it in the past. Hobbyists would relish at the chance to get their hands on special pieces they missed out on. It would grow the Lego fanbase.

The only real reason I imagine they would elect not to is that it would potentially asshurt the gougers, scalpers, and MIB autists. Even then it wouldnt cause any real damage to them (as if they wouldnt deserve it). The second handers could add another $200 to their sets and claim "vintage original!".

I dont know anyone who wouldnt salivate on getting their hands on re-released Fright Knight, Ice Planet, Aqua Zone, etc, etc.

They really wouldnt. Lego didnt just throw out their old molds when they were done releasing sets. Not only that, but many of the molds from the late 90s onwards were repurposed and used in many other sets over the years.

The "molds excuse" isn't a valid one and hasnt been a valid one since the early 2000s.

It's self-evident if you've been collecting legos since the mid-90s or even early 2000s. The master molds for these all still exist. Production molds get tossed, but never masters. And again, you could use in-production replacements for a number of those.

Or they could indeed come up with brand new ice planet sets in the same way they re-released Space Police 3 different times.

The ultimate point is there's demand for those older set themes that Lego is foolishly failing to capitalize on, and that counterfeiters HAVE capitalized on.

The patent for the bricks themselves expired years ago which is why mega bloks/contrux and other lego clones exist and are allowed (except the minifig design I think that one is still patented)
So you could make your own themes based on lego's old themes but just changing a few things and having the same brick types

It's 30 years old and I've heavily played with it. In fact none of my old sets have any cracks aside from the "teeth" in this red car and some very thin parts. But it's mostly from heavy playing.

I dug out some old ones from the early 90s recently and all the stuff that did actually crack goes on me.

And looking at that UFOs set: see those hinges for the top wings?
I've never had one of those crack on my old sets but on newer ones they almost always get stress marks on the bottom of the clips from simply inserting the top piece for the first time and some flat out cracked after a while.

I only had this one back in the day. I'm pretty sure it didn't stay intact for that long because I don't remember playing with it at all, but I remember the minifig and the printed tiles. Minifig was one of my favourites, and honestly the printing is comparable to stuff they do these days. The big sets are a big whatever for me, though. Pretty mediocre, but you can like whatever you want.

Reminds me of this set I had. It was at my grandma's place and I played with it there, and ended up losing good number of parts, and even the legs but then it became a car-centaur monster. After coming out of the dark ages, I found the scraps of the car from grandma's place, bought the replacement parts and gave it new life. After that I found even more of the original parts of it.

Lego from lepin? I think you mean Lepin bootlegs? I bought some minecraft bedrock adventures bootlego in a local store. The build was very flimsy and bigger plates seemed easier to bend than original lego, but overall brick quality is almost the same as lego, although edges of bricks are sharper than lego. With some modifications the build was fine. For the price it's absolutely great.

Overall it's lesser quality. Clutch isn't as strong, larger plates are flimsier, and clips are loose, but I don't really mind the difference. I got the monster fighters haunted house from them. I also even bought a second one for a parts pack, it's nice to be able to break up a big set like that and not worry about MUH RESALE
Though just buy legit sets for sets that are still in production. They're usually more expensive of the bootlegs and imo it's not worth the super long shipping times

As a general rule I wouldn't expect connections to stay together, which may be fine for display sets. The few I've gotten were original designs and between poor design and clutch, they were very frustrating to put together with loose pieces falling off.

Oh yeah, anything original design (or stolen MOC) has a big chance of being really flimsy
I got this set and the brick quality was fine, but the design was such that it collapsed at a light touch. Very annoying for a large multi story set

I can't remember off the top of my head and don't have time to look it up, but that color armor is exclusive to that set. The fig alone will probably cover a good chunk of the $35 if you resell, or you'll have gotten a good deal if you want to keep it. That's a good price to part if new, and even if used a lot of the older minecraft sets prices are way above MSRP.

The CMFs seem to be OK because the Chinese plastic is softer and ironically more durable because of it.

The non-CMF pieces are more prone to cracking because the plastic is thinner, the formula is different (cheaper), and they rush the pieces through the factory before they can properly cool and set, so they come out brittle.

Lego has shifted their business model from "these pieces will be in your family for generations" to "these pieces will last just long enough for you to justify the cost of purchasing replacement pieces"

Yeah I don't regret passing on it originally, but it's not a bad set overall. Definitely agree that it leaves something to be desired in the overall look, but it's fun.
Similarly though, Monster Fighters was what originally brought me out of my dark ages. It's nice to have this with most of the theme now. Just missing the mummy and zombies for monster sets, but neither are really a priority.
It's a shame Hidden Side is ending since it was the first theme in a while to grab my interest like this one did, but I guess that's just how it goes.

I did something like that only with a bunch of Nexo Knight robot heads. One of the primary reasons I loved that theme so much, I just wish they had more variety. Got some robo butler and the Robin Hoodlum On had the robot chef. Sadly they never made any of the female robot reporter so no robo lady heads. Fortunately that butler is pretty effeminate.

Agreed it's still a cool set and the classic Frankenstein motif is very much appreciated. I did hate the Monster Fighter car that came with it. Too clunky and ugly for my tastes.

My personal favorite? The Monster Fighters Haunted House set is gorgeous and I'm sorry I missed it. I agree with you about Hidden Side. They keep trying spooky themes but they sadly never last. I still wish we'd had more Scooby sets, too, and would have adored a CMF line with classic Scooby villains.

Wish I'd gotten the mansion as well. Looks amazing and had I been out of college at the time, I would have totally jumped on it. I'm just happy I got most of the rest of the theme for some great deals.
I don't get how the spooky themes don't seem to last. I guess not everyone loves them as much as some of us, which is a shame. I forgot the Scooby sets even existed, and honestly wish I'd bought one or two when they were around. A CMF line would have been an easy buy for me, but I'll just have to hope for more fun spooky CMFs or mini sets in the future to scratch my itch.

Universal Monsters acquisition seems like their new attempt at trying it for next year and will likely do MUCH better than Scooby did

Carrying a scale to the store is even more autistic than just mentally picturing the parts of the minifig you seek, and look for them.
The only case where feeling the bag is not practical is for the bing bing wahoo packs, and the Unikitty bags. And both of those are SHIT.

Its much more efficient though. Digital scales are small and you can easily fit one in your pocket. Set it on a flat surface and start weighing minifigs. I'm going to submit this idea to Jang or Brothers Brick and this will become the new standard of locating minifigs.

Ignore the fag saying save as jpg. Reduce color depth and get rid of the textured background, or at least simplify it. No fade out on the inset pictures, but you could do a paper-edge mask if you want.
png loves text, sharp edges, and solid colors.

Otherwise you'd be more successful making an html page.

That stinks. They're always at the edge of the Lego aisle conveniently next to a shelf at my Walmart/ Target so I can sort all the bags while I'm fondling them.
