So Earthrise is doomed to be remembered as the weakest WFC line, huh... It had potential. Modulators could've been really fun, if they had more than 2 molds made for them. Micromaster combiners could've been fun, if there were more than 2 made and the combination port was standardized.

It's sorta the dullest one because it's like a return to Classics ALMOST. It doesn't help the line was only like 3 waves and predominantly car and jet guys. But yeah sucks they didn't do more with modulator concept could have some how included it into Kingdom but nope gotta move on to core class and the next gimmick. Micromaster integration was done so poorly. I hope it gets revisited should they decide to do a revisit of Armada or something.

They weren't canceled so much as just not picked. There is a good 10 figures from each line that doesn't make the cut. Sometimes like Apeface and Snapdragon they show up later, other times like Gears the tin can keeps getting kicked down.

Definitely not. Earthrise had all the versions of Siege toys people actually wanted. Siege will be remembered as the scam line that had the Bad Optimus before we got the Good Optimus.

None that were 100%. Even ER Ironhide and Ratchet are partial Siege molds. Bumblebee is a partial of Cliffjumper and we're getting another go at that VW shell with a new head in one of the Amazon sets. (I don't know which one, only that it's coming and it's blue.)

There are no plans for Inferno, Tarantulas or Terrorsaur right now. They might come later in another line, but right now there isn't even a mold made for them.

Walmart's Headmasters assortments will start after the third wave of Netflix. New paint jobs, but no new molds. Some have the Takara heads this time.

Better colors (omega plastics have a yellow tint that make it look as if he spent years in sunlight), better proportions (omega tiny shoulders, arms and hips make it look akward) and better range of articulation.

I also like the headmaster gimmick better than the random Countdown included (which also usess yellow-ish plastic instead of grey).

Weird, mine didn't have that problem. The QC on my Omega was pretty good, aside from one "l" peg for the tank, it was super hard when trying to transform for the torso, and I ended up having to shave it down at the sides.

I don't think the pin was the actual problem, it was a mix of it and the rubber. That being said, all 3 of the Decepticon headmasters suffer from problems years after release, and it's annoying since most could have been prevented easily. Hell, of the 3, only Skullcruncher needed the rubber and they could have just changed the teeth a bit to avoid it. Mindwipe has rubber, and the friction bits in the legs are way too strong, which will eventually break them during transformation (and he's not the only figure who has this problem, so do any of the TR Eject mold users, and ER Airwave for a recent notable example).

this is extremely impressive. He's a lot less of a shellformer, his back kibble is far less pronounced, and he's a lot more accurate, all at a tiny scale. It's a real pity that his cartoon head is so much worse than the toy one. I'd love to have that figure with the more skull-like head and darker colors of the original.

Hate that baby blue. The darker blue is much better. Seeing these all side-by-side really shows how all the toon changes were for the worst.

The new one is likely the better toy since it's actually got an articulated beast mode, but it lost all the "hero mecha" elements that the original has. Old one has a lot of Brave DNA to it.

Kingdom Cheetor's decor isn't even animation-based; the animation model has a deeper metallic blue and oranger shade of yellow.

If anything, it seems like they based him off the BW10 boxart, which was off to begin with.

Considering how people talk about this MP I'm surprised by how much better she looks, but considering her price tag she fucking well better. Other than the spider legs though, the spider mode is not appreciably better on the MP, though I do prefer the ass hourglass of the original.

On the other hand, there probably would have been a new Swerve made from a Kingdom Gears, and that could have been neat, but at the same time it woudln't have been the IDW Swerve which is the version people actually care about.

The MP's spider mode transformation looks like they put a lot more effort into it to an ultimately worse result. They were definitely favouring the robot mode designing her. both are praiseworthy for getting something out of the show's honestly bullshit transformation though.

I like the attention to detail takara put into the uw sets but I'm not really a fan of the cartoon decos, plus UW blast off had some qc problems if I remember right. If they did the cw sets with the g1 toy style(Hasbro) with takara's paint budget then it would have been perfect for me

Blast Off's issue was that his leg pegs weren't strong enough for to peg together in leg or arm mode. It's not great but easy enough to fix. The other things were also included with the Hasbro version, which was the shuttle's cockpit section having very little clearance when transforming it and two plastic dots on the mid-section that are too big and can cause some warping to the sides of the pelvis if you don't trim them down (they're unnecessary since the toy's mid-section is tight enough, Strafe also had this problem).

Without her shield kibble pack, Earthrise has a more clean back, but the transformation is awful, being a shell former.

The T30 mold is enjoyable to transform, the Earthrise one is just pathetic.

Seems to vary, my friend got his a few weeks back and noticed a few hinges were cracked right out of the box. Mine's fine, aside for minor white paint issues (but those are easy to fix). I'm worried about the red paint for the hood/windows, and the leg transformation for vehicle mode since it's awkward.

Oh, and this is a minor thing but it annoys me, they didn't paint that separation on the bonnet, so a blue line is still visible. I know this isn't the first time it happens but it still annoys me they could add a little more paint just to make that less noticeable.

I actually love the colors way more for GN. In fact, I'm actually pissed that I bothered with KP since the figures are kinda fun but overall pretty fucking mediocre. That wouldn't have changed with GN but at least I could have had it in better colors and avoided double dipping. Hell, just knowing what the set is actually like makes it hard to justify keeping the GN preorder anyway. It's not that it's not worth owning the set, it's just that it's not worth owning two of it, regardless of the colors.

Except it doesn't. It's as if someone knew exactly *what* all the details were supposed to be to draw Cyclonus's face, but then sucked at actually drawing them. The spacing between all the facial features are off (giving certain parts an unnecessarily stretched feeling to them), the whole thing should taper more at the chin, and the lips look like they were designed by someone's first day using the trial version of off-brand 3D modeling software. I'm glad they tried to go with a more traditional appearance for him, rather than the skeletal version of his face from the IDW1 comics, but they fumbled at the execution.

Maybe it'll look better in-hand, but I'm not particularly hopeful. Between this and Studio Series Kup's piggie nose, I worry Hasbro may not be drawing from the best talent available for making these sculpts.

Wave 1 wasn't much better. Hoist is a total piece of shit and Cliffjumper is the worst partsformer we've had in years.

Wheeljack is solid though, and though I've heard some people don't like him Ironworks is a personal favorite of the line.

I have T30 packed away, and forget what a pigshit figure it was. I have the Takara version and it's got sloppy ass paint and that backpack is fucking awful, same goes for how much the weapons stick out of her hands. Her head also likes to be permanently tilted a little to one side for whatever reason, I think it's something with the joint. The thigh wheels are also annoying. You convinced me to sell mine.

Disagree on CJ, his partsforming sucks but he more than makes up for with in other areas, like paint, articulation and accessories. Hoist is mediocre, but there's nothing really wrong with him (though, those arm flaps could have been better).

Meanwhile:

-Arcee: Bad color separation on plastic, and no wrist swivels despite partsforming to a degree not seen before.
-Airwave: Peg and peg hole sizes are all over the place, rams on his legs are extremely tight due to having little to no clearance and will certainly break.
-Alicon: Transformations simple, and the arms don't really transform. While this would make it a passable, but mediocre toy, they also had the tiny arms, head horn, shoulder spikes, and the tip of the spear cast in soft plastic. The tiny arms are also very flimsy and I don't see them surviving many transformations.
Bluestreak: Nothing wrong with mine, but my friend had issues with his. I think an anon also posted something but I don't remember what it was.

You know what I really hate about post-T30 Transformers? The absolute strict adherence to G1. On normal robots like Hoist it can be really bad, but iy absolutely ruined beast modes. If we had gotten Abominus or the Horrorcons in years prior we'd have gotten modernized versions of the beast modes with better articulation. Instead, we got modes that were roughly on par with what the original G1 toys could do, with all the improvements going towards the robot modes.

The Terrorcons just having static non articulated plastic limbs slapped onto brick bodies was such a fucking slap in the face.

Fuck you too, the T30 Arcee mold is perfectly fine. Those thigh wheels are the compromise for not being a shorty shellformer like the ER one. Besides, your issues with her hands are a later run issue- I bought mine right around release (with Chromia) and her weapons fit all the way in her hands.

The issues was that basically half the line seemed to be exlusives most people couldn't get.
That and some rereleases of characters, seriously felt like we only got 2 proper waves.

I have the T30 Rattrap and Rhinox (and Legends Blackarachnia) and like them enough, so the Kingdom upgrades aren't a must buy for me (I'll still end up getting them).

Other than them, it's Waspinator and Tarantulus. And since the latter apparently isn't getting a figure (and if he does it won't be the based chad Transmetal version) there's Waspinator, who does have a T30 figure but there's no point in seeking it out when we know a new one is being made for likely cheaper than however much people are charging for him now.

toy-only characters are what I really want. The toy stuff brought a lot to the color palette and image of the line; where as the show chose more reserved and earthy colors for the characters adapted. Its like if you had a G2 cartoon but only put in the more regular looking bots like Optimus and Rapido, not the crazier ones like Electro, Turbofire, or Hooligan.

I rewatched all of Beast Wars last month, and as crazy as it is, Tigatron is actually way bigger than Cheetor, so that scale is correct.

Buzzclaw is possibly meant to be Manterror reformatted, too
In Beast Machines, Qucikstrike was planned to be Wolfang, Hammerstrike is Cybershark, and Buzzsaw also gets a new form that was meant to be branded as a Predacon.

I really like how that era of toys still tried to keep a sort of continuity and recurring characters even if they were never going to be used in animation.

I don't know about that. While the Transmetals would definitely better bridge the gap between Beast and Traditional fans, don't underestimate the nostalgia power of the season one gang. I mean, it's been 25 years and the Beast era fans have been champing at the bit for a resurgence like this.
But fuck me would I prefer the Transmetal figures. This Cheetor, Surf Board Primal, and Depth Charge were the BEST. Orifinal Rattrap was better than TM, though, aside from the shitty spring-forming gimmick which wore out after a year so he couldn't hold either beast or robot mode fully...

So Combiner Wars was combiners
Titans Return was Headmasters (and a fair few Targetmasters)
Power of the Primes was combiners again featuring Pretenders
Siege was Cybertronian vehicles with battle damage and lots of guns
Earthrise was/is Earth vehicles with Micromaster integration.
Kingdom is half Beast Wars, half minor 85/86 characters.

What would you like the general ‘theme’ of the next line to be? Personally, I’d like a whole line of obscure/non G1/new characters to have a crack at being the main lineup for once. Kind of similar to what Beast Wars II and Neo did. The missing BW guys can come too.

Give me a proper voyager Strika and Bulkhead, deluxe Knock Out and Lockdown, maybe even a Dino and Undertow.

I agree, the nostalgia is strong with BW fans (me being one of them). The problem is that back when the first Universe Cheetor and Dinobot were released, Hasbro said they were worries about organic Transformers shelfwarming... which they did. Then when fans said they wanted more BW characters, Hasbro again said that animal-formers were shelf warmers, but released Waspinator and Rhinox anyway, and guess what happened? They shelf warmed.

I mean, I'm all for a Beast Wars Renaissance. But I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't a little worried about its success just based on previous attempts by Hasbro to give us what we asked for.

I honestly remember so little from Season 1 both the plot and the design. They were still trying to find their footing but only got off real well near the end of Season 1 with the Vok and then Season 2 continued that rising tide. Transmetal is now criminally underrated, not to mention the many times Beast Wars was depicted in other media, the cast were in their Season 1 design but technorganic. If they wanted technorganic they should've taken the Transmetals rather than redoing S1 design.

So many people shit on Transmetal 3rd modes but they're not any worse than G1 attack modes; really the point is to add another way to play, not disguise. If anything I like the beast-on-wheels vibe of a lot of them, the only Hot Wheels I liked as a kid were the beast ones.

Also, I think Season 2/3 was more popular a decade ago before G1 got such a huge push again and more casual BW fans, who checked out after season 1, returned. Plus BW fans pushed back in a way by promoting the Season 1 stuff because it's the most unique to the franchise as a whole. Similarly before the G1 push started late G1/JP G1 stuff was more popular(see things like Star saber getting an homage in energon, or Star convoy influences in Armada and Cybertron Optimus)

I never thought of that but it would be cool as shit looking.
In all honesty, I never had tm Rattrap, but the original was such a good figure in robot mode with all his ball joints and was one of the first toys I had with that range of movement so it's always going to have a special spot in my heart.

The technoorganic aspect of the Transmetals is woefully overlooked. So many people write them off as "just" robotic and thus no different from the G1 stuff, but there robot modes were full of organic shapes and detailing that retain the BW aesthetic identity. Its why I dislike a lot of redecoes of non-BW guys as them; they're too blocky.

Season one was generic episodic kids series (seriously, most of the episodes seem like there was no direction as to what exactly the show is meant to be) and the real meat and potatoes of Beast Wars came with Transmetals. Some of the most iconic BW designs are in that aesthetic (Tarantulas, Megatron, Rampage, Depth Charge, not to mention some toy-only beasts). Either all original characters, or a redo of something like Thrilling 30 where they revisit old series that aren't G1 and do things we never got, like a good Airachnid, a modern Deathsaurus, Tarn, Armada Sideways, Thunderblast, the Pretenders, Thunderwing, FUCKING POLAR CLAW, etc.
