My opinion may change once I see both in hand but for some reason Arcee looks like shit with her big backpack and Elita-1 looks fine, not great but fine. I think it's a psychological combination of E-1's bolder colors and the crests on her helmet making her look a touch taller.

Comics are boring really, at least the reboot.
Movies are MIA.
Games are dead.
TCG is dead, though I never played it.
Mainline releases are not appealing enough to buy. MP is eh, no one I care enough for currently.

I was burned out for years till I got generations whirl and jetfire. Then picked up stuff along the way. Earth rise prime with the accessories from the centurion pack seems like its all down hill from there. He has things I like, like his giant shoulder cannons, the chestplate, and all the cool accessories, but I hate his tiny combined mode head, and a lot of the Combiner Wars molds haven't aged very well already.

I just don't want to look back and regret not getting him, but I also don't want to drop 200 dollars on a giant disappointment.

Upper half is a mess. Lots of soft rubber bits that don't connect.
Arms are just bad, 90 degree ratcheted elbows with a swivel. Shoulders are like so with a peg in bit for kibble being clear plastic which worries me if I keep it all connected.
Massive backpack which I mean, every toy of him has had.
Seems the truck mpms are still bottom tier.
If you are into the design, he's ok as the end all of the character since they don't seem to be doing repaints in the line yet.

Doesn't Japan treat most of their combiners that way.? They always feel like it's jus the torso bot without the components merging mentally. God Neptune is basically controlled by Half-Shell, but the components are all still mentally separate and can even bolt from the combined mode without Half-Shell noticing. Some of the manga have the components attaching themselves to an enemy combiner, then fucking with the torso bot while combined.

Seige Astro Train wasn't ordered by most retailers so he never showed up on shelves at like WM or Target. They repacked him as an ER and put him in the Wave 1 so stores ordered him. Seige version got bought up by ROSS since it likely became overstock. I expect to see them popping up in more discount stores as Xmas season starts this weekend. Praying they get TITAN Class figures too like last year.

He's honestly got a pretty nice look to him, it's a shame he makes for such a poor headmaster though.
I think TR's headmastering of characters forcing them to work a little differently with their designs without hampering them as much as say turning them into combiner parts did was a neat idea; but so many of them just ended up with headmaster cockpits just slapped on without much thought. They look awfully lazy.
Imagine if we got a steam train headmaster Astrotrain that had the headmaster standing in the drivers's section at the back? I feel like I'd forgive a worthless shuttle mode just for that.

The MPMs are just made out of cheap and nasty material (fun fact that beige grey plastic you see on Ratchet is literally just undyed plastic, gotta save those pennies man), and never really get good paint.

The KOs are so much better, not only do they get really extensive paint jobs they also usually feature remolding to make them work a lot better too. The differences between the official and KO versions of MPM4 are outrageous. The only official MPMs worth owning really are Bumblebee and Barricade, if only because they difference isn't that big (but there's still a difference)
