Also I have to say for some reason I really like Elita over Arcee. She just wears the mold better somehow. I think it's because of the colors breaking the sculpt up more. Plus she has softer details than renders made it out.

looking forward to seeing her in Chapter 2. I'll keep the hunt online to see if I can get her because I did like her in the show. The vehicle form is really underwhelming compared to something like Sideswipe. I'm pretty new to Transformers so I might place too much pressure on vehicle modes since those are what I like most.

Elita-1 being an Arcee repaint is kind of boring desu. There's a 3D print figure of her that turns into a truck that I'm pretty interested in getting, I'd rather try my hand at making that instead.

That said, the Arcelita is ultimately a big piece of crap. Just an action figure with a big foldable horseshoe crab shell to hide in. I just got her as an accessory for Optimus since it's better than the PotP mold and is really well articulated.

I love him. Surprisingly articulated for a portly bot. Only downside are the really awkward shoulder flaps that look really awkward and prevent 360 elbow rotation. For me though, they don't get in the way enough to ruin him. Definite highlight of wave 1.

I can only find her for $50 and up online, is that the only way I'll be able to safely get her? I don't feel confident the only wal-mart within reach, 25 miles away, will ever stock her.

a lot of Universe figures don't age particularly well, either they break apart or discolor super easily. My Universe Cyclonus is starting to yellow pretty badly.

The plastic used for the grey of the Universe Cyclonus is standard Polyoxymethylene.

It only yellows when it is in high heat, humid or moist conditions and is not effected by UV like Polyamide (See G1 Jetfire for example)

Toy collectors should keep their collections in basements with low humidity.

Even if you live in northern countries like Canada or most Northern USA states, European countires or northern Asia, even that short summer will reek havoc on your toys during those hot summers in your non ACed toy room.

Your collection in the basement covers your butt for those days to months when you can't control just how hot it can get in the room.

Transformers Chronicles, this has Transformers drawn accurately to their toys, and the story apparently has some bits here and there showing how G1 was slowly moving to the G2 era. It's a fan comic and it was available in English, but I can only find bits and pieces online.

I wish I could take that advice, I really do. I know some collectors keep their collections in a temperature controlled room using an AC, but the cost of doing this in Puerto Rico is just insane. Unless you make a ton of money here, it's impossible to do that. Best I can do is a use a dehumidifier, which has helped a bit since lowering the humidity also lowers the temperature a bit (hopefully, it offsets the heat the dehumidifier expels).

I primarily only collect Cybertronian and beast modes, Inferno will get a little modding to make him less Earth-y. Any suggestions on limbs? A white/black/primary color scheme would be best, I think. My room sucks for photos too, just find a good spot and zoom as needed. As for limbs, if you want to mix and match Rook is a good start, Streetwise and Alpha Bravo fit your colorscheme too. Another of the Aerialbots maybe? Or one of the loose limbs like Prowl or even Moonracer. Lots of options for collecting CW limbs.

The canopy issue might be people not realizing how to tab it in. I own Sunstreaker, the main problem with him is that the way the canopy connects to the legs is through two small tabs. Since the plastic on the legs is thin and has nothing supporting it due to the space between it and the thigh piece, the section bends before the canopy's pegs can connect. It only connects when you expert a ton of force, no clue if there's a safer way to do this.

The orginal toy had pretty good poseabilty at release, even better than something like a heman fig or star wars fig. Only gi Joe's were better. It was also spot on to the show and his alt form was also perfect.

Shockwave was another that landed everything perfectly. It would be a while after that where we got more that nailed everything. Hungrr was another. Nailed both forms, looked like cartoon and had lots of joints.

Are all copies of ER Snapdragon have a not-fully-painted mouthplate?

Only one I found in the wild, the purple looks like it's only painted on the front face (can see an unpainted ridge across the eye/nose divide, and unpainted sides where it meets the cheeks/helmet chops)

Short answer was due to them never problem solving him a new alt mode as years went on he didn't get as many new versions of figures as previous characters. We always got a new G1 style OP, BB, Starscream, etc but we could likley still count all the G1 inspired with just two hands. I mean Shockwave got new G1 inspired transforming toys before Soundwave did and they didn't even have his name back yet. Thus demand was high for him.

And I preorder a second one out of impulse of it being an exclusive I do that a bit with these such as having three Thrusts and two Runabouts on Preorder. The mold has aged like milk but I still love it anyway. United looks great of you can ignore the wings and Universe's absurd Nerf colors are too fun to hate but the mold doesn't pose very well. That's fan headcanon to cope Soundwave might have just been an autistic solider that did what he was told. He never showed any passion to Megatron, every time Starscream or someone else took command the rest including Soundwave followed them. I wouldn't go that far considering how flaky the status is with these characters. Bumblebee went from mute to Hot Rod clone to a Batman's Robin type of character to a rebel in a span of 10 years.
Hasbro is really agreeable with what writers do with the characters

Shockwave is a bit of a weird case. Soundwave was objectively a good toy at the year of his first release. There are only a handful of transformers as good in the original run. It would not be until beast wars would we get transformers that were consistently better.

Cybertron Adventures is a well selling toy and it's aimed at kids.
Also the adult market is like MTOU that wasn't sold in stores for almost 15 years and was online only through a club. The store aisle sales are still mostly kids.

Nah, ill stick with Siege magnus. Not enough of a change, and the spacey one looks better anyway. Helps that its an RID 2000 reference.
If they completely retooled the cab into something more akin to earthrise prime. (or just made the armor FOR the earthrise prime mold) I would have considered it.

It's a bit like Arcee, you're better off just designing the robot mode and alt mode to be as independent as possible. Like she's basically just a somewhat compactible robot wearing a wing pack. Robot mode looks good from the front, birb mode looks fine from above.

Compared to the Siege, the one upside to this Magnus is that they might have learned from the massive fuck up on the siege one, redid the shoulder transformation so that it doesn't chip the paint. It seems like the shoulders are blue now, and the tip is just a peg so there shouldn't be any paint chip issues.

Yes but they don't have to tab into anything aside from the tip. This would have been a problem in the original due to it being a large circular bit that clamped into something (can't remember since I haven't transformed it in a while). The main paint chip issue was that the shoulder has these bits that are meant to tab into the trailer bits that spring from the sides of the legs.

Don't have it, but the listing says it's FDM printed PLA material so it shouldn't be that bad, just a tad grainy. Anyway there's not much reason getting this kit since there's a KO that extends the thighs and also the top of the trailer so it connects to the cab properly. This kit leaves a gap like in pic.

honestly a lot of transformer toys don't age well. It's a safe bet Siege and Earthrise Prowl mold with have shattered knees by most owners within 10 years, the bridgebots will get brittle and many people are already getting stress marks on most of the modular figures joints.
