I'm not surprised, and it's odd that they were sold through Walmart. I was as well, and especially so for what I paid for them.

As an aside, the Ninjago Legoland set was a great way to celebrate coming out of my dark age. I left off the Ninjago stickers, and added some additional foliage.

Looks to me like the little Mongoose set that Mega Construx released for Halo Infinite. That set used special axle pieces with ends that sit just loose enough to rock up and down. That curved part that just visible between the front wheels looks new to me.

That's sound advice if you were struggling to pay rent, but otherwise fuck that. I only have three Lego sets, while my mom has dropped at least five grand on hers over the years. I'm jealous of all her old school sets, such as the islander/pirates, the wild west theme, the 9v lego trains, and so much more.

my wife buys me a set every once in a while. mostly the harry potter stuff if she sees it in the local target. she is a fan, dont judge.

anyways, about once a year, or so, she buys one of the architecture sets and demands that i build it for her. she recently purchased the statue of liberty set.

lol, that set was a brutal build. dont get me wrong, but i have bad eyesight and my fingers arent as dexterous as they used to be. i figured that i would have a relaxing night with a six pack, a little music, and a quiet lego build. boy was i wrong.

I know of at least one off-brand one that did that with couple of bigger builds. It didn't work because chink quality (wrong parts in wrong days, some days duplicated) but if done properly it might work. But having something self-contained is still better than adding 10 parts to bigger build in my opinion

Chrome bootlego minifigs tend to have their chrome coating painted on, which can leave small areas of white or pearl gold visible on the fake minifigure. (I've bought a chrome spaceman bootlego fig for myself, and they have a similar same issue with their painting, so it's not exclusive to fake Mr. Golds either.)

Not that anyone finding Mr. Gold in the bins would be the type that would be able to tell anyways... The kind of person I see stumbling into it would be less of a collector, but rather one of those reseller types that's too blinded by dollar signs and overall Lego experience to really care.

They're generally fine for LMGs but yeah I had to add a little stikytak to the ammo box on my M2 from them to keep it in place. Chinese copies tend to have the reverse issue of being a little too snug a fit, go figure.

I only ordered mine over a week ago, so it's currently in transit. However, I tend to research and find reviews before I buy things, so that's how I'm aware of issues like the painting. In my opinion sketching & CAD serve different purposes. Sketches are good for initial planning, especially with larger structures/constructions , whereas LDD, Stud.io etc. are good for figuring out finer detail, especially when you need to figure out what pieces your missing for a bricklink order

Bricklink? Ninjago is the mech city, and out of the ones I have, Legacy Golden Mech is really nifty small set with knees. Fire Mech from Ninjago Movie and Titan Mech from last year look pretty stunning, even if the posability is bit lacking. D.va's mech from Overwatch is pretty unconventional mech design at least for Lego. Second to last Hulkbuster for I think Endgame is the best one of those. King's Mech is really cool mech, and there's kinda variant of it called Black Knight Mech but it's not as good. Funny thing about it was that someone designed the black one, and then one nip designer improved it and made it into King's mech.

To the anon who was talking about public art or monuments in Lego cities in the last thread... I really like the idea of making statues and here is something I made while fucking around with extra pieces while working. My Trico MOC is coming along.... yesterday I built a brand new torso and feet. The torso has a deep ab crunch behind the front legs, and then behind that is a sideways bend so he can “steer” like a rudder. The feet have independently articulated toes so it can do a nice “grabby” pose with them. And to cover up the ugly gaps I added a bunch of hinged flaps that move around with the neck/waist

What alternatives to Bricklink are there?

I just want to buy a couple of bricks, but paying more for shipping than for bricks feels kinda bad.

Using Lego sets seems to be a good idea for more modern things, but i'm after older parts to rebuild old sets.

I did not realize that i can change the shops by hand. I used the "magic" tool to select shops for me. But after clicking around a bit it now is a bit more clear to me what i can do on that site. Thanks.

same as rear wins, 1-2 plate higher and with greater angle
in my opinion 6 stud long A-wing fins block a lot of view from cockpit. try 4 wide same fins as rear end, 1 plate righter and angled much more outwards. at least give it a try

Mechs seem to be those sets that I really like but never seem to get. I was given the Supernova as a gift when it came out and thought it was cool at the time, but since Exo-Force came out during my college years, I just didn't bother collecting LEGO because of how much I would be moving.

I've still got the parts and tried putting it together recently, and while it still looks cool, it's awfully fragile and has pieces that snap off all too easily, which wrecks the poseability. So I don't know if I'd call it my favorite, but I don't have any other experience with LEGO mechs.

I've got high hopes for the upcoming Ninjago ice mech. It may not look as cool as the Ninjago Movie Fire Mech or the more recent Titan Mech, but it does have knees. Maybe this means it'll have poseablity in line with the mechs of yesterday combined with the stability of the mechs of today.

I'm trying to honestly remember. I think the new york figures were BAM at the NY Lego store a few years back. But the other two I can't recall ever building. I saw 1 image of the chef with this accessories but the link didn't want to work. I'm a civil engineer you retard, we use cad software to design structural support for buildings and in my country it's also mandatory to attach schematics of plumbing and HVAC inside and outside of buildings to the building schematics you supply to get a building permit. CAD software is used for that, too.

I find it harder to build on cad programs, it's just not as creative as having a pile of bricks in front of you, I do find it useful for backing up my MOCs before I make any big changes just in case I don't like the changes, and it can be useful for trying out a build before you order the parts, like what space shuttle anon is doing, but just building in cad and then trying to claim that is your moc is just silly it's not a moc until its built with real bricks, if it's on cad it's a backup or an idea

Anon, one more suggestion. Add these pieced to create windows to fill gaps a bit. Option one, keeping your design and adding one massive window in the middle and option 2 - moving hinge bricks 2 studs closer each and adding this windshield piece to give it a bit of lightweight design.

Ok lol. I still have to do some touch ups like adding storage and fixing some colours but here's my transport for a couple riot police figs from the new CMF line. My headcanon has the aliens from the same line start an uprising on an abandoned planet now used as a labor camp for crystal mining and the riot police are sent in to stop it. They roll through desolate streets in APCs like this one, smashing wrecked cars and debris out of the way.
Features:
>Side door to move troops in and out and can be held closed with the identity lock.
>Access panel to engine for repairs.
>Roof access hatch with identity lock. The top folds out so you can stand figures around inside. I'm still figuring out how troops will be kept in place but I don't have any of the new figs yet so I can't confirm anything.
>Side hatch which opens to a water cannon shot from inside.

Here you go. I based their bodies on the design in DBD. The classic look would look a lot more plain and robe-y. I'd suggest Darth Maul's torso, or something like that.

Is Speed Champions confirmed for 2021? I know there was a polybag leaked, but I want to know whether to invest in a few of the 2019/20 sets if it's being retired.
If not I'll just stick with Hachiroku's builds. They're incredible.

If you wanted to make a shit ton then you'd have to make molds out of metal and figure out how to melt/inject plastic. There's not really a good hobby method to do this for plastic parts and why 3D printing is so popular even if it's incredibly subpar.
If you want to make a few, you can get away with making a silicon mold out of a prototype/existing shape. You will need a vacuum chamber to degas your silicone and resin however. There are videos for this.
If you're making one, just 3D print the fucker but make sure you fill and wet sand the exterior to give it a nice finish.

I am likely alone in this way of thinking, but I believe natural terrain for scenes should be made out of non-lego materials and mimic what's done for model train displays. Then all lego in the scene is considered man-made construction. Of course, that all makes a fucking mess and can't be easily changed.

i doubt, thats what lego used to do for their old catalogs and box art and it had so much soul. ive also seen some anons here in the past use foam and cardboard construction for terrain

This is pretty much my prediction towards the whole thing. The sequels really scared toy companies with Star Wars licenses. Which is a shame because Mandalorian is quite good if you are a starwarsfag. And because lego takes so long to come up with sets, they just wanted to wait and see with new projects. More than understandable after sequel stuff was warming shelves. Still, the logical choice didn’t pay off. Even if you don’t like mandalorian, people are obsessed with baby yeed and want to consoom. The fact that lego didn’t have a set with him early on had to have hurt them on a business level.
