Looks fine to me. The paint looks nice and even, the sculpt gets the idea across. The face isnt perfect buts its clean and definied well with a sly impression is a good representation. Does this look bad because it isnt a hottoys?

Sure, it's not bad quality-wise, but I would definitely call it bad in terms of likeness. That's a bad Sokka sculpt, but a decent sculpt in a vacuum.

Speaking of Revoltech, I have no idea what went wrong with the Grendizer figure.
Gaiking, Mazinkaiser and all the Getters looked perfectly fine even in a neutral pose but that guy was hit with the ugly stick a few times too much.

I'd be more okay with it if she came with different faces and hair sculpts. "Action hair" should always be a separate head or a swappable piece, I hate when it's the default.

I still don't know why people championed this figure for so long. It has DCUC-style hips with the chunks bitten out of the inner thighs, the shoulders are placed too low, and the headsculpt is terrible--it looks like some sort of muppet vampire, especially with that opening jaw. Like yeah, it can pose well, but it's horrible to look at. The new Beast ain't perfect either, but it's so much better than this abomination.

Easy answer to "why bad when others from same period good?" is, they were not made at the same period.

The solution to how Yamaguchi was able to release so many new sculpts of Revoltechs so fast back then was he had tons of unrevealed mid-progress sculpts from the time before revoltechs. He had stock, so when there's an opening and he had nothing new ready, he picked one of the old ones and modified it to be a revo.

As for paints, that's all factory problems.

I really dislike this one.
The face doesn't look like her and more like a bad cosplayer, she can't stand upright on her own thanks to the weak-ass joints and can't really hold any of her weapons, either, with the vorpal blade being too thin for the hand and the peppergrinder and hobby horse too heavy due to being solid chunks of plastic.
