Tokka keeps falling over even with a NECA foot stand, gonna try two. His large body shape makes the doll stands I usually use impossible. Might dig out a jap stand if this doesn't work.

Oof yeah, probably best to move him to an area that won't be wobbling as much.
I don't own Tokka or Rahzar but I know big figures like those can be awkward to balance sometimes, especially if you're also trying to get them to pose.
It's all about finding that sweet spot.

I did everything online this year, normally I go out of town each year to shop since I don't live near any good stores but I didn't bother this year since I knew it would be a hassle.
Only /toy/ related things I got was Black Series Cad Bane and two McFarlane Fortnite figures (AIM and Dire).

I mean, there's an episode where Krang clones himself, and based on the monsters he makes, he was originally a giant lizard monster alien before being transformed into a brain lump.

In the comics, the Utrom are all brain lumps and culturally their robots seem to house the passenger inside the cetner (chest or stomach cavity) of their various robot bodies.

Anon don't, there was no way the reissue was going to happen this year because by the time they realised the popularity wave 2 was alresdy in production.
If it's going to happen it'll most likely he some time next year after the factories open up from Chinese new year.

I was under the impression from Bryan Flynn's statement that he was going to re-issue all 4 turtles after they come out as a BBTS exclusive and not the entire wave 1. But I'd have to re-watch his interview with The Fwoosh to be sure.

Think there's ever a chance of getting TMNT 2003 figures from anyone? I never had any fondness for the Playmates line for it despite loving the show, so I don't think I'd want a Super7 approach, but the show was great. I think the designs would make great modern toys with lots of articulation

Brian said that the entire Wave 1 would be reissued some time down the line but that they would change the deco on the weapons tees so that there would be a difference between the 2 but not to make them so different that people would feel the need to buy them again if you already have Wave 1.

in fact I can tell you the main thing that turned me off of this line (after the price) was the fact that I just don't dig the original Splinter toy.. he's got such a weird Toucan Sam quality to him. Like I get it, he looks decently like certain weird panels in the original comics, but the result is just odd. Had they included a separate head that looked more like the original cartoon or the more well-drawn comic panels, I would have really wanted the whole line.

Speaking of that splinter though, does it still have a sculpted-in pupil that gets painted over in white?

Are you using one of the various 5" versions from the previous toylines? Is there just a blank space where you'll have her in 6" scale "someday"? Did you pick up the 2009 NECA comic version a while back? Did you pick up the cartoon NECA version? Did you pick up the NECA version 'for now'? Did you preorder the toy Super7 version? Did you not preorder the Super7 version and you're waiting to see what the resculpt looks like before jumping on the preorder from a third party?

I can't find the photo I took on my potato phone right now, but I basically copied this anon from a thread way back when, it's a simple enough head swap of a 2003 April on a Winry Rockbell body (he tweaked the hands, I didn't). I like the jumpsuit being tied around her waist, makes it feel more casual like she's off of reporting work and hanging out in the sewer lair.

I tried a figma emily head on catwoman's body too but it didnt blend well. I still think the figuarts fujiko is the best for the smaller turtles. I dont even plan on painting it since I just juse the head cannon that she obviously could have more than one jumpsuit. Even a black stealthy one.

I think Raph's the only one to ever get a New York accent and that was only in the film.

I actually think Barry Gordon's slightly neurotic jew accent is totally perfect for donatello, and I also loved how he sounded in the 2nd movie when they temporarily replaced corey feldman. Similarly most of the past leonardos have sounded pretty consistent, just a tiny bit asian which is perfect for Splinter Jr.
I would love it if someday we got Jason Alexander as raph. the subtle things he did with his consonants as costanza really sold him as a new yorker.

Yeah, even after all these years he's still my favourite Donny voice, same with Townsend Coleman though I think Robbie Rist did a good job too.
For Raph my favourite is Josh Pais and for Leo...hard to say, Cam Clarke is iconic to me but I also remember liking Michael Sinterniklaas' voice for him too but I haven't heard it in forever.

In that interview posted a while back, the Super7 guy stated that a lot of people were hearing about their company only after around WAVE 2 / WAVE 3 previews and reviews for the TMNT series had started to make its rounds, which means a lot of people missed the preorder window on wave 1, and also the marked up stock on wave 1 from third parties like BBTS.

Normally a company that never does reissues, they have openly talked about making an exception and doing a reissue for wave 1 because so many people are showing up in wave 2 (or in wave 3 and snatching up wave 2 from third parties) that they feel like the TMNT line has put them on the map (so to speak) and don't want to discourage newcomers and people just learning about the made-to-order production cycle with 3/4 turtles.

Super7's a small company, possibly smaller than NECA. And because they mostly do the one and done orders or super collector vinyl retro type stuff, they don't get brought up as much.

They really only made their mark because they took over the MOTU license when Mattel decided they were too good for it. And then took it back when they saw Super7 was having success with it (though they were in over their heads a bit. Kind of like with TMNT. They're not used to being popular).

I hope that the MotU, Thundercats, and now TMNT successes help them adjust. Their Disney line shows a lot of promise and the made-to-order format means weird shit that would never get a chance suddenly shows up even in the first wave, where fucking Prince John of all people shows up alongside mainstream characters like Pinocchio and Sorcerer Mickey.

yeah the regular gargs may have been pretty off, but they looked awesome on their own just as toys.. whereas the humans had the tyranny of sticking to a price point, so they had to come with a lot of goofy accessory-pack shit to fill out the plastic quota... something girls already have a problem with in a lot of figure lines.

At the risk of further derailing this thread slightly, I'm the one guy who still thinks getting a set of The Pack would be awesome. The variation in the team set up allows them to fit in as a weird band of bad guys for a variety of displays, Wolf's genetic augmentation means he'd blend in well enough as a ninja turtle / thundercats / heman guest villain, while the other characters having a armoured suit / bionics theme means they'd still work as generic sci fi baddies such as guest space tmnt villains, for example, while someone like Dingo or steel clan Xanatos would be at home fighting Iron man in anon's personal crossover armour wars.

As a sub-debate, would they recreate the toys like TMNT, even with the completely inaccurate to the screen versions of people like Elisa, or would they go animated versions like Thundercats?

I don't think it'll be flexible. I'm betting it's just an un-articulated, hard plastic "peg leg" like the original toy, plus or minus a more forgiving hinged hip joint as an effort to get him into some less vanilla poses, kinda like splinter's tail.

Keep in mind Super7's Bebop is even bigger than the NECA Bebop/Rocksteady bodies (ie the triceraton). So they may end up going for hulking beast on their version of the triceraton. But as things are now, the NECA figure fits great with the S7 turtles.

Not sure what they go for now but I got the KOs (which included a Foot Ninja and robeless Splinter) from Aliexpress for less than $20 shipped around 6 years ago and they were a steal at that price. Normal plastic limbs instead of rubber makes the Turtles an overall improvment for me even if the paint is worse. Though I'd buy this new Playmates set if it had the best of both worlds.

They're shipping directly to Target in full cases now. And it's not the reps that are supposed to put it out anymore, it's Target employees. That means the DPCIs work, cause they're in their system now. Krang, Splinter, Baxter are all being shipped in full cases.

Those punk frogs look real disappointing. I understand that that is how they were in the cartoon, but they are an easy pass if it's just 4 repaints of the same mold. Ace Duck looks cool though, and Chrome Dome being bigger than Krang is nuts. AND?????That's not an improvement considering the way they've handle their GIJoe Classics, Transformers, and Marvel Legends exclusives in the last year. That's not a solution to the problem. Yeah, I feel like only keeping the main cast restricted to the first wave of figures was a bad move, having Ace, Muckman and Mutagen Man being recurring characters would have been good.

Terrorsaur's role as usurper and backstabber was taken up by Tarantulas and by late Season 1 they were out of ideas for Scorponok anyway. That's true, BW did a great job and I prefer it to the G1 by a country mile but I don't think TMNT managed to pull the "focus and develop a small core cast" thing since it was mainly just a status quo show.
