In the movie, she saves hotrod almost immediately, gets autobot city transforming, gives daniel his exo suit (without it spike, jazz, and others would have died) not to mention her role as the "heart" keeping people from getting too down.
Then in the show, she performs as well as anyone else in battle, and saves the day multiple times.
She has tons of character
It's just wholesome, which is considered passe
Cyberverse mostly went back to this though, with some adventurous streak
