pretty new to all this only been collecting since september but recently I found a triceraton infantry played with it for a bit out of the box everything was working flawlessly no boiling required, unfortunatley i guess they didnt put enough glue on the bicep swivel plug and just as i was going to put it away the arm fell off

is there a glue you guys reccomend for a more permanent fix? i have gorilla superglue gel xl but if that isnt a permanent fix for a very posible area like the bicep swivel plug id like to hear if you guys have any suggestions for that

this isn't the first time something weird like this has happend in these passed few months and im starting to get iritated with neca qc

Pledge future floor polish, put a drop in joint socket, and put the plug in there, turn it so the joint goes all the way around, give it 24 hours to dry and add another layer the same way. Do it until its as tight as you want it to be

This is a common design flaw. Other toy companies like BossFight Studio have said that it's "interesting" design. It seems to be a re-occurring problem where the arms just fall off.

This little joint piece needs to be glued into the bicep itself it's shaped so it fits perfectly in there and and the top peg pops into the shoulder
I'm just wondering what kind of glue is good to keep that base part of this joint piece inside the bicep so this dosent happen again

My three didn't have this problem. Neither did Zarax and Zork. And nobody on Fwoosh has either. Probably because there's nothing wrong with the design. It keeps the pressure off the peg when twisting the bicep.

Perry and Keno are the kind of characters the made to order preorders are for. They could probably re-release the original turtle bodies with movie 2 heads, maybe a movie 2 Splinter if you really want to stretch it. But yeah, the line is pretty much complete.

I think so, they retained the same heights, and their knee/shoulder pads were still dark brown. If the bodies are different it's not easy enough to tell at a glance.

I've said it before, but they SUPER lucked out adapting TMNT because the elbow and wrist pads and shell meant the suit had natural points to break it up, and those individual parts could be replaced without having to make an entire new suit (but they still went through like a dozen a week in total I think? just the limbs which take the most damage)

plus the only real problem with the original 2003 line is too many dumb gimmicks, V-cut hips, and a total disregard to scale. Sculpts were perfectly accurate most of the time so there's less to improve on.

Give it two more years and we might see some 20th anniversary stuff. In a couple years, assuming both primary companies are still going strong, we'll be into some really weird side characters with Neca and Super7, and I'm sure one of them or both of them will be interested in throwing out at least the four turtles again "in the 2003 style" as a way to sell the main dudes again and get people looking at the other lines.

Yeah there's a good logic to putting similarcolored plastic under each painted part, but as we've seen on some of those Krang figures, even just different wetness levels of paint can look pretty crummy, let alone paint flaking off to reveal a similar color below.

I did the same thing with my Neca figures back when Slash and Leatherhead came out. People will pay a premium for them too now, so I sold mine and decided I was just going to buy the Super7 figures and if Neca makes an occasional figure I want, I'll buy it and try and integrate it into my collection. At the price Super7 asks you at least get plastic that's cast in the proper color so the toys will have a longer life span and can actually be played around with.

Other way around. Casting in the proper plastic colors can make figure's tooling costs skyrocket.

Here's a video explaining how they tried this once in Masters of the Universe Classics in an attempt to save money and keep the figures under $30, by casting all the parts in black plastic and then painting them the right color. They only ever did this with one MOTU figure and it had the same issues Neca is having.

i think colormatching would be pretty tough. In a lot of toys it's unavoidable that some parts have to be painted to match the plastic of other parts, and even if you get the exact hue, paint has a different translucency to plastic. i'm mainly thinking of transformers here, both historical and recent. I just got the new tiny wee Rattrap, and while it is amazing (they painted the red in his tiny tiny little eyes and mouth!), there are little bits that don't work flawlessly. The back of his head is painted fur-colored so that it can become a panel of his beast mode neck, and it's just obviously not the same as the body.
I think somewhere in the process, NECA was like "if we're charging this much, they need to look PERFECT. no differences in finish or even the tiniest hue being off" and then that executive didn't listen to some guy lower down like "dude, paint... on every joint?"
as it is, joint plastic usually doesn't match regular plastic. It's hard to find any figures that don't have a visibly darker stripe running through their ball joints and such

Every time a different plastic is cast for a tool, the tool has to be run thru the injection molding machine an additional time per color supposedly. And that these extra runs thru the machine cost the same amount as the first run. So having 2 or 3, or 4 different colors for plastic by that reasoning, would making your costs very high.

I'm not 100% sure on the logistics of it all. I'm just relaying what I've seen ToyGuru say on the matter from his time as Brand Manager on DC Classics and Motu Classics. He's more or less said that the difference in price can make a figure go from as low as $35,000 to around $100,000. He more or less seemed to say that the process of making the figures requires you to essentially take the molds and run them per color and that each time you do this it's doubling and tripling the price at the factory. So if you go by this reasoning, Neca is saving a fortune by casting figures in one color, which makes the toon turtles budget figures that are made at more of a $20 price range, but sold in two packs.

It may be an adult collectible, but here's where you're wrong is that it is is still very much a budget item, when you look at the number and types of things included with each fig, don't you wonder how they still can keep the price where they do? For the amount of stuff, it would cost a lot more, but they take a cheaper route to get those accessories into you hands so that you can have a "complete" figure. YOu and everyone would be complaining if those accessories weren't offered, or as many of them at least, and the price had to stay the same though the figure itself was better (better paint, plastics and molding yada yada). without the coat that is pretty cool, though it looks like the elbow articulation would be pretty limited... and the wrist. he could never play basketball. and his hands are kinda tiny. But with a few very minor changes, this could be an excellent if unmemorable mech design.

It's not the most articulate-able robot design, but I personally like the idea that Krang updates or changes his robot body out as needs require.

I'd love a group of krang-droid toys besides the android and the bubble walker to do a "hall of armours" style thing with a weird ass brain alien, but that's a really specific personal desire so I get that not everyone wants or cares about the newer krang designs.
