I just realized the reason Lego keeps going for this crazy whacky themes like Chima, Nexo, Ninjago and Monkie is so they can have the freedom to make all sorts of ridiculous vehicleshit which Is what sells. Meanwhile with the more grounded """realistic""" classic themes with tighter harder to break genre conventions they are far more limited

I went to the one in Anaheim a few weeks ago, huge selection, lots of sealed sets, loose complete sets, modern and vintage, prices are fine, I would say most things were market value or maybe 10% markup, the minifig selection is huge and the prices were pretty much eBay pricing, staff was really cool too, I didn’t buy anything because bricklink is cheaper lol

Thanks, had that bubble canopy, Ogel windscreen and a couple Aquazone cockpits I wanted to combine into something and a heavily armed marauder craft ended up fitting the bill. It is really cramped inside from the extra interior details (weapon racks, crosswired power couplings) but the pilot can still squeeze his way to the rear to access the ship's vitals. I especially like how the landing gear worked out, if the craft were any heavier it'd be problematic but it's just right.

Yes! 8stud bricks and front slopes are all printed. Classic town cars can drive in as long as they are non-door version pure 4 wides. Some tiny Creator 4 wides fit in too That small 'car' was included in the set.

I found the Crafting Box 2.0 for the equivalent of about $25, which has 717 pieces. That’s really what set me off, I couldn’t not buy that. Then I felt like I should get some other stuff to add to that so I got 3 $20 sets and then I got the Creeper Mine because it seemed like it had a lot of good pieces for caves and stuff. Then on my walk today I saw a store that had a sale on lego so I got the Coral Reef while I wait for the other stuff to ship because I need instant gratification.

Plastic bags is the cheapest and easiest to expand but finding the right bag will eventually become a headache.
A wall of trays is best but that can get expensive as your stash grows.
Some like tackle boxes or organizers for thread. I think these are best for protecting specialized pieces or holding minifig guts but probably impractical for a larger collection.

both will retain value considering they're ideas sets, if anything is to go by, typically the "original" lego ideas sets end up going up higher, like the fishing store. unless you're a big winnie the pooh fan, i'd say blacksmith. it's a cooler build, more versatile, will only go up in value, etc

Pretty good fucking deal. Set goes for ~70-80 sealed. Seems to have tanked in value as far as Batcaves go which is odd to me. Good minifigures, especially that Bane. I like the catwalk, the "armor up" feature is good. You did good as long as all pieces end up being present and not cracked.

I was thinking of getting that one or the newer one from last year, what do you guys think?

I don't get this meme about hating on the UCS LAAT because it's too big, the whole gimmick of UCS is to be a very large star wars thing with lots of pieces.
Look at how comically oversized stuff like the UCS A-wing, Snowspeeder, AT-ST, and Tie fighter are compared to their minifig scale system versions.

Lego is definitely throwing money away not releasing a system-scale gunship since 2013 but a ~$200 version with a better build and similar size wouldn't have been a UCS in the first place.

Kind of reminds me when the 2019 grey triangle was leaked people were screeching about it not having an interior bridge and having only two figs.
Expecting anything more from the UCS line besides a very large ship and 2-3 figures is setting yourself up for disappointment.
The falcon is the exception with a full interior and 7 figures but it also costs 700 with double to triple the piece count. $350 price hurts but there's a big gap between that and falcon tier levels of expensive.

This was one of my favorites as a kid, but you are correct' the interior IS admittedly, consisting most of what appears to be a pit where energy crystals are stored. That said, if you've got extra parts and ingenuity, you can certainly try to flesh it out and make the central base look more like a proper laboratory. And if nothing else, you'll be getting two hilly baseplates with underwater themes you won't find anywhere else.
