Medals (seen in the Baby/Baby II slots) give medabots abilities/personalities. I think they all have a real basic frame, like you see in the child slot, and then they're customized beyond the medal in them with the particular armor/weapons; you can see them partially/fully equipped in the Adult/Perfect stages with the yellow (Metabee) and white/purple (Rokusho) medabots, these two are also kind of the mascots of the franchise. Main thing in the franchise is kids fight with them and gamble parts, and parts can be damaged/destroyed during battle. The ultimates are both from last year's April Fool's prank, where Digimon introduced into their franchise Omedamon who was an Omegamom parallel but with Metabee and Rokushu as the base, and Metabots introduced OmegaKnight as an armor/weapon type based on Omegamon. The joke didn't actually do/change anything, was just a prank. This year, they brought it back, but actually implemented them into their mobile games, with the Medabots one also adding armors based on WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, and Digimon also adding Metabee and Rokusho. And obviously beyond that, they made the DiM card as a bonus until they switched it to also having it be sold separately.

The downside is you have to wait if you combine, for instance I won't get the gacha or full trial DiMs until October when this one comes out because I'll have combined them all into one shipment, but there's enough cards to keep me busy until then anyway.

Ok so apparently I do have a cell phone with NFC, but even on that device I can't download the VB app("device incompatible").
I would be getting it today, and I already have both volcanic roar and blizzard fang on me.
I'm not sure whether I should sell it or use it until I get a new phone or something.
How's the general consensus over it? How's the app? Would the app be worth the effort?

I really want to organize cards in an album but can't think of a way that would be convenient.
Ideally I'd want to organize them by color, but when I get new cards I'd have to reorganize the whole thing. Is there a convenient solution for this?

Can't you just put new binder pages in between the colors?

I've been sorting mine by set number which is an easy way to never really have to rearrange them. I just leave gaps if there's any I'm missing. You could sort them by color and then set number.

I would do that, but I'm not particularly keen on 100%ing it. I'm mostly interested being consistent with the art.

If you have two mons on there when you insert a dim card it will ask to delete the one in backup. You can also delete them on the app.

I give it an 8. I think Digimon as a whole is in a good spot atm, and the Shodo stuff so far has as far as I know had trouble staying in stock like, anywhere. Don't think there's reason to think it's doing poorly.
Volume 4 will be a decisive one though. The first 3 have each had one of the 3 classic shillmons in them. If 4 really only has the two they've hinted it'll probably be some kind of test of what can sell.

Has anyone got their vol 3 yet? Wouldn't be surprised if 4 is just the two. Not sure who would be a good fit there as a third, maybe blackwargreymon. I would be ecstatic if they made random mons in the completely arbitrary direction Pokemon SHODOs are going. Not a chance though.

I would be surprised if they even made Hououmon, Hercules Kabuterimon, Rosemon, Vikemon, Holydramon and Goddramon, though. They aren't nearly as shillable.

I must be a casual fan then because I have no idea what that means. I'll buy any figures of the first two anime and most of the those that appeared in cards through 2004. To be honest though I just hope the line continues, they're great figures. Some of the new designs are cool i must admit

Yeah, it's the bg for both Black Roar and Shadow Howl, but no, the VB doesn't save them to use universally unfortunately.

It retains the bg if the watch is turned off or switching to a digimon with the same bg, for example switching from Black Roar active to Shadow Howl backup keeps it because they have the same bg. It doesn't retain it if the digimon is changed to one with a different bg or if the digimon is sent to the app,

(Why do people keep thinking there will be a v2? Theres no precedence for there being a v2. The moment sales slow down Bandai will kill the product and never look back. Even if there were a v2 it would probably ignore the Dim lock or change its id based on the BNID it links to))

The v-pet community already figured out how to unlock dims. I'm sure if Bandai released a v2 and didn't allow old dims to transfer to it, they would release that information if they hadn't already by that time. But like >>8972836 said, there's no reason for them to be thinking about a v2 right now, they're not even 2 months out from release.

I dont think you really need to worry. There is absolutely no way they would want to piss off their fanbase by locking out all previous DiMs with a new version. If anything there would be some sort of data transfer DiM or something similar if a v2 comes out.

You bought a vb from someone who used a Gabumon dim on it, but they didn't include the dim with the sale of the vb? Makes no sense.

If Gabumon is on the vb you can raise it and send it to the app, but if you replace it on the vb you won't be able to send it back without the dim.

There's just way too much to just write down in one post.
One recent example is naming valdurmon as "valudurumon", and within the same set they have "chaosmon: valdur arm".
There's nothing worse you can do to a card game than to mess up the names, and they do it consistently.

That has nothing to do with the card game in particular, Bandai simply refuses to change old names. There's absolutely nothing recent about the name "Varudorumon" or whatever retarded thing it has: that's been its dub name for over a decade.
The card game's localization isn't a disaster, the franchise's as a whole is. The card game is basically doing the best they can with what they have.

Fuck, I should have tried getting new screen protectors. I scratched the area that says DM. It's not the worst scratch but i hate seeing it still, i had been so careful too damnit. Tempted to get a new VB. I had been avoiding using any dims beyond impulse city incase something happened and i needed to replace it but of course right when i start blizzard fang something does happen and I cant go getting a new set since theyre sold out.

Just finished pic related.

The build wasn't too bad, but the wires used have shitty tolerances, which made lining everything up a pain in the ass.

Aside from that, it's the least janky of all the digimon kits I've bought so far. And if it matters, I have them all.

I'm really torn about the VB
I've seen some reviews, and the outlook is not so good.
I currently have it sitting in my closet until I decide what to do with it.
I've heard the training are stupid easy and you can bypass them by just shaking the thing, and by checking it out, it feels more like a kids toy than an actual fitness brace.
I can't even get the app to work on any device.

The app is used for saving Digimon. Without it you can treat the VB as an old vpet, though they won't die of old age, so you can just start a new Digimon whenever you're ready. It is a kids toy, but no one is forcing you to just shake the device instead of actually doing the exercise training. How you operate it is entirely up to you.

Surprised I got a holo card in almost every pack but one. Kinda wish they added a small character description or something if not everyone has a special effect. So the thing about this statue is, I got it from ali certain that it was a bootleg, since there's a version on japanese sites with the Ichiban Kuji logo while this one says "Ichibancho" which I've never seen used by legit Bandai and it seems like the usual chink practice of changing things slightly when bootlegging
But now I googled it and lots of trusted stores are selling the Ichibancho version. So is it a real brand by Bandai? Are stores getting bootleg shit unknowingly or knowingly? The Digivolving Metal Garurumon is easily the best in its line and impressively on-model for a transformer. The model kit looks really cheap unless you paint it yourself.

yeah, that's a turn off. Getting the metallic paint right is hard. On the other hand the Digivolving's paint chips easily on the diecast parts, and the chest-butt proportions keep making me look at other options

Somebody posted this image a while ago that apparently came from the discord on how connecting DiMs to a computer looks. Based on what I could look up, the main USB thing has a program you can use to basically do backup/restore, and edit chips. So yeah, spoofing seems easy enough if you get your hands on DiM files that aren't tied to any VB yet; resetting without a clean file probably requires some comparing to figure out what you need to change and to what in any DiM to remove the VB's ID from it.

The thing's been out for two months, you know as much as the rest of us about their plans for future releases. It's too early for anyone to say that anything about this line is going to be an "always" deal or not.

Though honestly, given how much backlash they've not just received but responded to in regards to exclusivity (dark cards, Medarot, gacha) I do think them doing a card exclusive to some new band color or whatever is unlikely, at least for the immediate foreseeable future.

Video showing arena and raid battles. For playing against players, it seems only interaction is stopping the bar at fuller amounts to do more damage; for raids you get access to items to help yourself out. Auto-translate sucks, but seems there's various rewards for doing raids in general, fighting stronger bosses, and being the strongest in a group and ranking higher on leaderboards. But either they don't mention what the rewards are, or auto-translate can't pick it up. Digimon can die if they keep losing, just like if it was in your VB. You get 3 battles a day for free for each arena and raids, but can do more by getting tickets (probably rewards in raids and buyable with v-coins).
