I've been watching Pic related's mech builds on his YouTube channel and now I REALLY want to build my own Mech with his techniques.

Since LEGO seems to refuse to provide us with mechs that are well articulated but still sturdy and stable enough (like using balljoints or ratchet joints instead of small swiveling pins or other fragile looking connections) I might as well just bite the bullet and make one for myself.

the orders from yesterday are the last couple of parts for my Z-Bomber (pic related)

and todays orders are minifigure parts for at least 3 new figs. though one order is just one hat piece, and I'm paying 5 dollars for it. this is getting out of control now.

after this, I'll just buy locally if I can (not LEGO stores, but another brick and mortar store that's selling lego bricks just 12 minutes away)

It's not terribly hard, just time consuming.
Start really small, like a walking loop or some basic shit moving from side to side.
If you have a bigger project with multiple shots, planning is the most important, you need to plan out EXACTLY what happens, in what order.
Also, look at some basic tips like consistent lighting to make it generally look more polished.

It comes down to imagination a lot. I build Minecraft MOC with my son, he's still small and isn't bothered by such details. We just imagine we venture into a cave and fight with creepers, get diamonds and help ourselves on our adventures.
To be honest, I enjoy building new stuff much more than those adventures, but they mean a lot to him, so I do my best to make up best scenarios for our little play sessions.

Go ask /pbbg/, they will be able to tell you better than /lg/. I have only bought Koruit but they are very close in quality (body parts and accessories are freely interchangeable) and the print quality is actually better than CMF print quality.

The accessories, helmet, and armour are perfectly compatible with Lego - zero issues with them whatsoever. The only problem with the minifigures is that you can't switch out the hands because the width of their pegs is different; however you can switch out the arms with no issues and the colour is the exact same as Lego's dark tan colour. There isn't a colour in Lego's inventory that matches the green of the accessories unfortunately.

It's a bit of a meme mostly because having enough space to do so is a huge luxury.

Unless you have a nice empty basement or a room to dedicate to it, I'd recommend building something the size of a baseplate or two so that the modular concept could eventually integrate into something bigger

A lego city is either something you sporadically build with your child on the floor, or something a homeowner afol does in their basement

I dream of having an aquanaut seatron layout, but for now, I'm just stuck to building a small base here or there.

In general id recommend going for quality over quantity to start, and get a feel for what you actually want to do

The Car is equally shit, but its a 4+ set so whatever.

The track vehicle looks like an 1 to 1 copy from the arctic range. Only with less details, less parts, no doors and overall a worse look to it.

Can't shake the feeling that it once WAS supposed to be a 2 in 1 like >>8976568, with the alt-mode being some sort of robotic fish submarine (left hand becomes the tailfin, left shoulder the head, hip armor the pectoral fins, etc.) but in the end they dropped it and just went with the mech mode but still kept the design.

This feels like a missed oportunity here. I really hoped The Horse Stable would go the way of the chicken coop and pig house and we'd get a horse stable in shape of a horse.
The unique parts compensate for it, though. Diamond armor horse, enchanted helmet and bow, unique player fig (no Steve, fuck yea), trident, golden carrot, dark orange 1x2 brick with masonry profile. Nice. It will make a fine addition to my collection.

The Modern Treehouse
On some pictures you can see technic parts in this, so maybe you can easily rearrange the house using technic pins.
Charged creeper? Lovely. More chickens? Excellent. Two new player skins? Great
I'm not a huge fan of the build, but I think it can be easily modified to look better. The amount of 2x4 flat tiles in multiple colors! Fantastic.
I'm afraid the price on that one will be bloated, though.

I love this. The build looks great, 2 unique character figs, unique skeleton head, enchanted creeper with an unique head and color of the body, funky Poison-Quill Vine, a chest full of weapons. I'm writing my letter to Santa right now.

studio is clunkier, ldd is designed for kids so the ui and controls are simple and easy to use. i make my models first in ldd, then finish them off in studio with parts that dont exist in ldd. studio also has the rendering too which is pretty cool

Like, Rebels Ahsoka is the only artificially inflated figure there that won't get remade. Lego will make another Cloud City (even if it's far in the future, they know Star Wars fags will buy that shit up), Thrawn is 100% going to appear in some show sooner or later. Boba Fett's are a dime-a-dozen, and all the other characters have enough importance to almost confirm being re-released/remade at some point or another.

Why is shitty cobi more expensive than lego? I looked up some cobi vehicles after jang's review today and they look way worse than speed champions and are 50%+ more expensive. Ferrari tributo is $20 for 270 parts and you can get it cheaper in many stores, cobi has some shitty ww2 mercedes cars that are $40 for ~330 pieces. pic related is $13 for 97 pieces. The set from your picture is 12€ in German Amazon, but if i would spend some time i'm sure i can find it for around 7-9€ in some smaller online store as well.

This is actually true, and its true for many of their sets. For the civilian cars even more than their military ones.
However, most of their Boomer fanbase love this, because it gives them a model car (tank) look, without the difficult assembly Tamiya or Dragon plastic scale kit.

Besides that, Cobi is produced in the EU only, not partially in Mexico or China, and also they do print every piece. Not a single sticker is used.

Yes, they sort of plateued with the 6 widespread. The 8 wides are great. I thought they did a great job with with GT-R last year. Though I understand the complaints about the overabundance of stickers, you have to expect it when the price is so low for each set. I use tweezers to put each one on. I'll take more Lego JDM any way I can get it.
