Surtur from Thor Ragnarok revealed today. Hellfire club restocked on Pulse, Disney+ wave is hitting Targets, and Xemnu Villains wave is shipping out early from Dorkside Toys. Other stuff revealed has all been added to the checklist.

What are you the most excited about? Personally looking forward to Ultron the most, but at this rate, he’ll be out by June.

I mean, it's a fun and exciting toy concept to be sure, they're also pushing the boundaries of what a legends figure can be, and it's nice to see the toy company taking that kind of risk these days with a character that isn't wolverine/ironman/spider-man.

But it's a bit underwhelming in execution. He didn't need a lot of accessories, but really would have benefited by including a "dead" crown for Thor to carry around (or completionists to add to the back of dioramas along other vault treasures), and a "closed mouth" alt head for posing him sitting on a throne.

It's also weird that they didn't reveal any photos of him next to any other marvel legends figure. I get that in the description he's supposed to be the giant version at the end of the movie that blows up Asgard, but at 13 inches, he's scaled as the version that fights Thor at the beginning of the movie, and he's clearly untended to battle other legends figures since he doesn't come with a "mini" platform of asgard to stand in Kaiju style.

I mean, I have significant doubts since he has two alt hands and a sword, which is the "three accessories" listed on the hasbro pulse listing that does not mention his crown/head.

Since the other Marvel thread is about the shitty MCU and not toys, I'll post this here. I preordered the whole Iron Man wave because I wanted a toy like Ursa Major for ages. Not OF Ursa Major, just a cool monster werebear man. I'm not even going to display him with any Marvel figures, instead he'll be with the House of the Noble Bear faction of my Mythic Legions. I just pay for pulse and use it for everything I can order at this point. Equivalent how? She’s relatively unique in Marvel—a mutant recruited by the hellfire club’s teen school, swayed over to Xavier, then off on her own for the most part, joining New Warriors then Avengers. I would have said she’s close to Firestorm at DC, but only in that she doesn’t have any real landmark stories and nobody seems to know what to do with her.

I’d consider Atom Eve in Invincible to be what Firestar could have been.

Really doubt Hasbro will redo Spidey again since the retro one is close enough to Romita by their standards. You could always take the head and stick it on a Spider UK and paint it.

Way to remove the context to my statement. I was saying they probably won’t make one that’s somehow more similar to Romita’s style than the one they just made. We’ll get another one, whether it’s like the Web Man but in normal colors, or a redo of Cyborg Spidey with 90’s design. But we aren’t getting a new Spidey that’s even more buff, at least for a few years. Prior to retro Spidey, the last “classic” Spidey was in 2017.

Not even Iron Man, that was Iron Man 2020. We’ve gotten Spidey and Spidey’s second costume, the white one. Doom seems like the most likely second 2099 character, although I imagine Punisher or a Spider-Man villain like Venom or Flipside are also up there. Doom would be my pick, then Flipside.

Not anyone in this thread, but as soon as shipping makes up a significant portion of the overall cost, you definitely start to include shipping into it.

Usually 10%~15% is fine, but i definitely balk at shit when i'm paying 20-50% of the toy's value. Shipping has gotten way too expensive in recent years and corona really fucked shit up.

Just had some non-toy related thing shipped to me the other month from Japan and shipping cost almost as much as the object. Heavy ass shit that can't be found in the US, so i really had no choice.

BTW, you have to understand that Americans aren't used to paying rape prices for shipping.
I personally can't wait until shit starts opening up again, because i used to get imports for pretty cheap buying them in person and conventions were a great way to get things for a good price.

Biggest gamble I take is on Mafex figures nearly everything else is a sure thing. And if I get a dud, I just exchange it.

Also some places don't require you to pre-order something to combine shipping. A warehouse or pile of loot feature is becoming more and more standard.

I have 3 mafex figures, IW thor, black panther & the first iron spider. Thor & black panther are perfect. No issues. I can almost say the same thing except for iron spider & the waldo issue. Well I've been trying to find the Retro Spidey because it really looks fantastic, but his price is like triple what it is in retail. I get that it's my fault for not wanting one when it came out. I don’t go into any retail stores anymore. Thus every thing I buy is on line. When each wave is revealed I almost instantly know what I will be getting. Sometimes figures come out and I see them posted around here or maybe a positive review will sell me then I grab it up. I won’t pay latecomer tax because then I don’t feel good about my purchase. 33 burgers is the most I will pay for a legends. Any more than that and I feel ripped off. I mostly shop on amazon and big bad. I always check the bst here too. There are great deals sometimes. I sell there a bunch too.

Spider-Man will get another release one day. Hopefully with all the hands he requires.

Thanks Anon. On the bright side I did pick up an Ult Spidey for a good price. He'll tide me over until I find a Retro for a good price, he's rereleased, or a new one comes out with the same or better sculpt. Plus he came with all of his hands.

Shin swivels should be replaced by import style ankles.

Thigh swivel replacements likely can't be hidden well at that price point and when they are you run into the McFarlane issue of them being funcionless
