I bought the SHMA GvK set for 67 each now they are like $10 more. Not only do they over charge but they also do this shit and go back and raise prices on stuff they had already listed cheaper.
They also list fake MSRP prices with fake discounts to over charge. Look at the new NECA werewolf. They literally posted a $45 MSRP, crossed it out and the asking price was still higher than regular MSRP.
They are cunts.

Im left utterly astounded that the show runners went off in a sci-fi direction over a much more obvious monster slayer route. The trailers gave off the sense that the Jet Jaguar crew was going to scooby-doo their way to the top to be the "best there ever was". I was hyped simply because I assumed this was going to be a japanese spin on the typically American approach to a godzilla series. Instead we double dipped and got a second dose of godzilla earth it seems.

Yes. Or at the very least, the design has to have a posture that suggests a person could conceivably be inside of it. That's something that's been at the core of Godzilla's design since the first one, and any design that moves away from that moves away from the very core of what makes Godzilla a memorable design, in an almost literal sense.

I thought it was going to be a monster of the week type of series. Every monster they've introduced so far has felt incredibly underwhelming and wasted. They went with the hard sci-fi route where I'm sure everything will all be explained right at the climax of the series, but that doesn't really work for a weekly anime like this. Real talk, what's the liklihood we'll see more shima of all these designs? They're steadily growing on me, but I haven't watched the animu. In fact, the SHIMA Ultima G actually convinced me it is a good design. They fixed the proportions in it and made it look quite dynamic.

Ultima looks like fucking ass. He's one of the worst looking Godzilla designs in almost half a century. Weebs can talk about how smart it is that he's designed to look like an Oni mask all they want, but he still looks like absolute shit. The show has some great designs like Anguirus, Manda, Jet Jaguar mkII, and Salunga, but Ultima isn't just not one of the show's better designs it's probably the show's absolute worst.

He really has to be in my top five. When I first saw him I was repulsed wondering what they were thinking. After watching the movie and over time he's slowly became one of my favorites.
My all time favorite is the MireGoji suit because it captures many of my favorite elements of Godzilla designs and exaggerates them a bit (like the back spines being huge, his more hunched over reptile look, etc.).

Eh, I partially agree. I do agree the playmates are good for younger fans. At the same time, I think the quality is still missing (for most of their figures). For example, the Bandai America line was for kids too yet there was some good quality with them. I collect vinyls so I don't care too much for articulation personally.

For non-spitfire versions, they aren't particularly important. That doesn't mean that accessories aren't important though. I miss the days when SHMA figures came with maser tanks. KOTM Goji or the awful overpriced Rodan & Mothra set should have come with the Argo and the fact that Biogoji doesn't come with the SuperX or some of the giant landmines despite being nearly $100 is crazy.

For spitfire versions, they absolutely should come with a beam. I have no idea why heat ray GMK and GvK Goji don't come with beams when they are painted like they are firing a beam. Though I am glad that GvK Goji comes with more hands, and I hope that future releases come with them as well.
Beams serve their purpose, they don't have to be in every release, but there should be accessories in every release.

The wrist joint was absolutely a QC issue as it was gummed up with paint and it took a lot of work to get it freed up. I don't know what is causing the hip and knee joint issue though, but I suspect it is another excess paint issue like the wrist joint.

QC is quality control. Which means that when they produce an item, they control the level of quality the figure is held to in terms of production. If they design a figure that is not supposed to have paint sticking the joints in place, that is the level of quality the figure is supposed to achieve. If the quality control allows those figures to leave the factory, failing to meet that level of quality, it is a quality control issue. But that's just an assumption on my part, maybe NECA does produce figures with the intention that paint will fuck up the joints, and then those joints with crumble to dust, and the whole figure will fall apart. Maybe it's all intentional and we're just being taken along for a ride.

Why on earth would I ever look at social media? As long as the videos show me what I want to know, I'm good. Hamhandling shows me what a figure can do, so I know what mine is reasonably capable of, even if I'm always too gentle with it. I like that he's rough with the figures, I honestly wish more reviewers were and treated their job like they were consumer advocates instead of just people showing off their toy collections. I get that it could potentially be very expensive to buy 2 figures, one for yourself and one for review, but I like the idea of putting a figure through its paces. I'm looking forward to the Hammer vs. SHMA Kong that Steve and Arnes have been talking about, because I want to see the durability of the SHMA in comparison to the NECA, especially given that the SHMA Kong is one of the line's first manufactured in Vietnam instead of China.

I'm not sure why there's so many surveys now asking what other IPs people want to see in MonsterArts. I was under the impression that MH was going to be the other big flagship (hehe) IP aside from Godzilla and that was it. I can't see them ever making another Gamera or AvP figure, and we never did get a V-Rex.

Under normal circumstances, I would say Mandarake, but right now DHL is like 60 bucks and only gets more expensive. I recently bought Kiryu for 230 but had to pay $60 in shipping. nin-nin-game has some that are okay decently priced even if they are like $40 to $50 more than MSRP. There are also the /bst/ threads here on /toy/, generally people are kinder to fellow anons and won't charge horrendous prices.Facebook threads are another good bet. The absolute worst place though is eBay, don't go there unless you are absolutely desperate and willing to spend quadrupal MSRP and double what you would pay importing it from Mandarake.
