Sure, but my point was that then we can tell other people "hey, ShowZ has shitty customer service, don't shop there."

I mean, "random Aliexpress seller PuppyLover74612 has shitty customer service" just doesn't have the same weight to it, you know? ShowZ has a bigger rep to uphold and therefore more incentive to give good service.

…not really feeling any of these new designs except for the praying mantis, desu. Those elongated thighs on the transforming bots are a little confusing. Hopefully neutral posing makes them look better, or at least more like the illustrations.

You can tell that's the biggest box, there's another one that's presumably one block smaller (because the windows are 2 blocks wide). Hell, they might be really crafty and have the middle sized box use those windows tilted 90 degrees, so literally the only piece we don't see in this image is a base that's 1 square big (bear in mind the current diorama pieces are all 2x2).

That's really not a lot of pieces, and if you build the smallest box all you can really use the rest for is maybe putting a window on the side of your existing diorama.

There are a few whiners on /toy/ who will lash out at BBTS the second it's mentioned. Only thing I ever been able to figure out is that BBTS tends to mark up prices, but not by much from what I have seen. Most stuff i looked up on BBTS seem to have normal prices.

This. People who rage about BBTS just saw one thing they wanted (probably a con or web exclusive) marked up to a high price and spend the rest of their lives seething over it because they're too stupid to look at prices on a case-by-case basis.

I think that this "system" they made for these figs will over time be picked up by other toy companies & will release comparative figs @ same scale but cheaper for army building, just speculating of course

Given the shots we've seen of them, it's pretty obvious they're about that big. Maybe slightly smaller because they're less bulky. It's obvious enough in the shots of the windowed enclosure, you can see the middle square is the same size as the diorama parts all the other figures come with.

Are you aware that each and every release thus far has become available for like $15-16 with free Prime shipping on Amazon? Just be patient and check the listings frequently. The prices do tend to go up after they're released, but before/during their release, you can hit that sweet spot of low prices and fast shipping.

Got a bunch of 57s in the mail, now I'm slowly building them.

I built Yui first, and she's absolutely sick. I'm 100% buying any other female models these guys make. My only complaint is that the translucent pieces seem a little more brittle than the rest, which isn't an issue for most of the pieces, but the shoulder pauldrons undergo more stress than the rest due to their design, and they're a bit too thin, so I managed to snap one. It didn't crack fully, and it's holding together fine with a bit of glue, but it's a bit of a shame. The translucent pieces are also way more visually interesting for unpainted models, at least in my opinion.

After building a few of the base male bodies, it's interesting to see the improvements in design for the female ones. The wrists are a separate piece for the female, which makes posing them way easier than the men, because they're made out of PE and always feel like they're going to tear if you try and rotate the ball joint. I haven't had any fail yet, but still. The feet on the male are really hard to get on due to the ball joint angle, while they're really easy for the female. I was also surprised to see a 3mm peg hole on the female backs, but not the males. Yui is a bit more unstable, but that's the price you pay for cute heels.

In terms of mould quality, they're pretty good. I noticed some slight imperfections on some of the 2021 models, I think they're re-using the moulds a little longer than they really should. It's only on the diorama pieces they're making for every box so I doubt it'll affect the bodies. Flashing is reasonable, especially on figures this small, I was able to clean it up fine the few times I noticed it. Plastic quality feels a little inferior to gunpla in the hand, but I've had no issues with mechanical strength, and I've put a fair amount of force into a couple trying to squeeze the male feet on. The joints have all been good, a few are slightly too tight but it's miles better than being too loose.

I think it depends on what ur getting at any given time, I bought both legit Dia and kos, kos were pretty bad but that varnish method to coat the joints works well

I didn't expect this, but this is quickly becoming one of my favorite toylines. They are nicely sturdy, and are more fun to play with (to me at least) than Hexa Gear. They just feel more substantial and easy to handle.

Also, on a side note, does anyone know where the clear yellow armor in this pic came from? Was it some sort of exclusive? At first I thought it was just a customized clear armor, but the totally clear parts appear frosted/semi-opaque. Which in theory you could do with a flatcoat, but I just don't believe someone would go to those lengths to even coat the heads of those absolutely tiny pins on their own (since the clear yellow and smoke are clearly not matte coated).

Astrobots were originally intended to be quite modular IIRC. When it was just an indie toy, there was like a skeletal frame and different 3D printed armors you could attach. Sadly most of that seems to have been left in the dust when it got bought by Toy Notch.

Depends, do you mean the vehicle side or the figure side? IMO, the figures are rather pricey for what you get (~$20-25 for a tiny little 2.75" tall figure), and the vehicles are rather cheap for what you get (~$40-60 for large robotic abominations that usually have transformations or secondary modes).

If I were to name personal favorites...I would say Lord Impulse and Governor Monoceros are two of my favorites (pictured here, but the kit doesn't come with that sword in its mouth, it is sold separately).

If you collect 1:12 stuff, the Scarecrow and the Bandit Wheel are really fun kits that work for both 1/24 and 1/12 scale stuff. The Bulkarms are rad too, and the regular Para-Pawn Sentinel is my favourite soldier, dude is real simple but he's got a ton of character.

I don't like how nonsensical the series is getting. Some of the later male robots were already pushing it slightly, but this is going overboard. They need to reign in the realism angle a bit, a maid robot is fine given there are obviously maniacs who would want a maid as a bodyguard, but what's the use case for Egyptian boobs? A museum exhibit? Why would a robot like this even be produced in-world?

The frogs and sharks are a little absurd, but you can fit them in as some kind of experimental weapon gone wrong.

I've not built the Glanz, but I have built other Bulkarms and they've been solid as shit. Everything Hexa I've built has been, actually. The connections are very tight (so trim your nubs well!) which leads to a very stable build in the end.

I thought they were just the shoulder towers, but on the sides (perhaps containing the missiles that you originally attached to them) to be differently diaclone. Good point about the sword though, since both powered and God Ginrai were both essentially super forms for Convoy, perhaps this is amalgamation of the two.

Glanz is fine. Some joints creak a bit but the tolerances are really tight generally. I'd recommend gluing the hands together though, mine kept dropping thumbs and don't stay on the wrists very well.
