I don’t think it is the moonstone mold. Looks new honestly. Moonstone has thicker hips.
I’m glad if it’s not. Like >>9223785 said, the moonstone body is just awful since it’s so old. No range in the elbows, the arms feel loose at the bicep swivel and the pin holding it there is really weak. The head doesn’t have a neck joint at all, just a ball, and the hips and ankles have no range either.
I’m all for them using an actual substantial female body mold, because the Silk one is borderline anorexic. But moonstone needs an update, it’s like 8 years old now.

Yeah and it doesn't help they increased the price and the backer amount on a non army builder. I can't justify throwing 400$ on galactus no matter how much I want him just don't have the room. Doesn't help that stretch goals aren't going to be hit so no real extras will be given.

I bought the sentinel because of the extra heads and hands. I have a diaroma in my head with 2 sentinels and a bunch of heads and hands on the ground making it look like a battle. With galactus we get Nova, and another Silver surfer so far. And I doubt it would get past the second stretch goal at this rate.

He’s definitely one of the best ML’s of last year. The effect pieces are what really put him over the top, the only thing I’d change is giving him a second wrist gun on his left glove.

I only picked him up because I saw him on sale in the Disney store with a bunch of other legends. He's honestly become one of my favourite figures. Tons of effects and accessories. Looks great in hand. Him and modular iron man are gonna look great together

He was my favourite ML of 2020, even with Kang coming out in the same year. I'm so glad he was a deluxe release so he could come with all the necessary effect pieces.
Hasbro have been nailing it with comic Iron Man of late and War Machine is among the best of them, it's going to be a good day when you can open him and Modular Iron Man together.

Making a custom Mysterio kitbash with a custom cape, using the lizard wave and the retro one. I'm at the crucial step here, what cape "buckles" do I use? Gold or purple? Purple is more classic but I was likely going to put it on the retro buck, but hell, the cape looks better with the lizard buck. I'm just all kinds of confused. I gotta use the retro somehow because I bought it for this.

Should I get the ML War Machine I'd I already have the Revo? I love the Revo but he and Iron Man are in a more modern look. The ML WM is classic and will go better with Modular IM.

My thing is that I bought the retro specifically for this mod, and I’ve already cut it up to use it but I’m just not satisfied with it. I was thinking of maybe doing the buckles as gold like these busts

I sympathize for DD-fags as an FF-fag because we share the same problem essentially. Atleast the FF get decent toys though. DD fags have it pretty bad considering the public only knows about Murdock from the ben affleck shit show and the netflix series. Otherwise he's kind of discounted as shit spiderman or marvel's batman.

I am both a DD and FF so life is suffering. The sun really started to shine when they released the new Doom, man that figure is awesome. The new FF/Silver Surfer and now Galactus are a dream I thought would never come true. Now DD is such a simple figure, I can't understand why we have releases of obscure villains or sidekicks and not one decent Daredevil. I hope we got a really great one like >>9224963
with tons os acessories (those wrapped hands must happen, they are awesome) because look at all the details on the Shang-Chi figures and they are being sold at $4.99 before the movie is out. I want a proper DD, not a repaint of the Bucky Cap body with giant Spider-Man hands

I just did. Last time I looked the pre order was sold out at Amiami and I figured that if they out him back up at release, it would be for the non-discount price. But they only want 7500yen for it so even with DHL shipping, it ends up being a few dollars cheaper than BBTS too. Glad I looked today.

I've been trying to spread info as much as I can. My sister in law works in logistics and has been giving me the lowdown. Basically international shipping is currently fucked because of three major reasons.

1.) There's a shipping container shortage. It's difficult to get shipping containers for a reasonable price at the moment. Everything is super expsince.

2.) Dock workers are going on strike. Various ports have been shut down because dock workers are striking. It doesn't seem to last long but any a!pint of delay at the port is going to cause massive problems.

3.) China has a monopoly on international shipping and has decided they want to charge outrageous prices for everything. Companies are trying to hold out for prices to lower but it seems China is going to start incurring fees to companies who aren't shipping their goods.

All in all it's a fucking mess.

See that's the reasonable assumption, but Hasbro has consistently proven that if something fails, they will blame the character/entertainment not being popular enough. It's not a case of them just not doing another Galactus HasLab, it's them not doing another Galactus of any kind. Not even a smaller one, or a reissue of the Marvel Universe one. That's just a PR spin to shareholders really. Out right saying "yeah we thought people wanted this item, but they didn't" isn't going to keep investors happy.

Right because if the missed the mark with the Haslabs they don't 100% know what the failure was and it's a big risks to gamble forward. In fact you can can see how they test waters moving forward with things, the first ML Deadpool sold well so then suddenly there was Legends DPs everywhere until sales finally started to take a hit. Hasbro always wants the biggest fish so if no one takes a bit out of the Haslabs offering, they don't want to gamble on the smaller fish.

I mean I know this was the color used in 90's cartoon and the original toybiz line, but I don't know how I feel about these being the "retro" colors when the walgreens colors were pretty much what they wore for the first 20 years. They didn't change until the effects of the negative zone in issue #256. Don't get me wrong though, that was a damn good era.

I’ve got the full Walgreens set and I’m not sure what I’ll end up doing. I like the blue and white costumes better, just because I think it fits more with the avengers and I like that characters like She Hulk have a matching uniform with that look. But I will admit that ideally, we’d have a set of four in the costumes, plus an invisible and flame on variant of the respective members who would need those. And She-Hulk. So my ideal FF is actually seven figures. Also a new flaming Johnny should be on the 2099 mold, same as the flame-off Johnny. Iceman and Sunfire both got it, so there’s no excuse why Johnny has to be on the flaming Bucky cap.

Unfortunately they’ll never do two versions of the same FF member in a wave, it would make sales of both versions of the figure decrease, since most people only need one version.

Maybe if they actually stocked shit. Walgreens distribution is the absolute worst. Any exclusive you want from there is a pain in the ass to get. They barely list the shit online, al!ost never do pre-orders correctly, and have some of the least reliable distribution I've ever seen. I remember what a nightmare looking for Walgreens Thing and Ratchet were. I've got three locations in my vacinity and I wouldn't have found those two figures if I hadn't been going to multiple stores a week. I still can't believe I found Silver Surfer randomly.

I can't imagine anyone seriously defending the practice of using Walgreens as an exclusive venue. I only have to assume you're taking such a contrarian stance to bait people into giving you (You)s. Well here ya go.

First, i wasn't defending them. Just stating why Walgreens partnered up with various toy makers to carry their stuff.

Second, i've actually never had a problem finding any exclusives there, but i haven't been there in months, because i don't care about most of current waves. Despite there being like 6 Walgreens in my city (vs 3 Targets, 2 Walmarts), they're actually out of the way for me.

Third, i seem to remember /toy/ actually posting pictures of their stores being inundated with exclusives.

Were you in the slow class in school? The only exclusives I've seen mentioned as overflowing were Medusa and Modern Namor. Maybe yellow Daredevil too. Anything that's been highly desired; the F4 figures, now the cosmic stuff, Black Series General Obi Wan, Siege Ratchet, and now the 212th Clone were all very difficult for most collectors to acquire. I was only able to get the ones I wanted because I have copious amounts of free time. I can't imagine trying to find these things if I still had a 9-5 job. There's a very good reason the entire collector community groans when it's a Walgreens exclusive. At least Target and Walmart have the decency to put up pre-orders. I don't think the new 212th Clone ever was listed. Same for Nova and Quasar.

“Retro” doesn’t refer to the comics, it’s referring to the toyline from the 90’s that you reference. The retro Spider-Man and Marvel figures were all based on the original toylines and not specifically the comics, hence retro Spider-Man not being the red & black Ditko-inspired suit.

I'll defend Walgreens as an exclusive retailer but admittedly my circumstances are different from yours.
Here in the UK, Walgreens exclusives pop up at every online store, hell Amazon UK have carried a number if them, so they're readily available most of the time. So for me, Walgreens is just an avenue for more toys and the way I see it, we might not have gotten the Super Skrull or upcoming FF retro wave without those Walgreens exclusives coming first. I'll always be thankful for that.

I imagine it must suck tough actually having to hunt after those things. Both fortunately and unfortunately that isn't really a thing in the UK. You just preorder online because it's the only real option.

Of course they would say that. They don't want to undermine their Galactus Haslab anymore than they have already. She is a simple retooling, so I'd expect to see Nova released by herself sometime after the campaign ends.

Yeah. New Reed needs long arms, not salad fingers, but I recognize that three sets of arms would be tough to pull off.
Thing needs a paint job like his Walgreens version. Heads are okay but I do prefer the Walgreens ones.
Sue is fine but the Walgreens head is a million times better.
Human Torch is the only one I’d say BTFO by the new one. I’ll take a better body over Bucky cap any day.

I am so happy with the retro Fantastic Four wave.

Psycho Man – maybe a bit small but sculpt and colour looks great

High Evolutionary – just perfect

Thing – looks like they’re going with the Super Skrull wave style shading but more subdued, might be ok. Not too fond of the heads, especially the open mouth one. Definitely going to pick up a second BAF wave Thing now, for a head swap

Reed – swappable lab coat is a nice touch but it’s a little disappointing they didn’t go all out and also give him the bendy arms

Torch – finally, that is exactly what I was hoping for

Sue – nice that she comes with alternate fists, not enough female Legends do. That head is tragic though. Maybe salvageable with a good repaint but as it stands I’ll be swapping the Walgreen head over to this for sure.

Invisible Sue – about damn time and hey, you can’t see the face on this one

Johnny – just what I was expecting. Neck looks unusually long on this one though, that’s not a problem I’ve had with any other version of that mold, so that’s a bit weird. I assume it's the collar making it seem longer.

HasLab – Hasbro still fundamentally misunderstanding how stretch goals are supposed work. SHOW MORE YOU IDIOTS.

I want updated figures for tons of characters but not at the expense of new characters. Half the appeal of Marvel Legends is the depth of characters, from the famous to the obscure.

every auction i've watched they go for the same, in fact reed and things prices seem to have increased even more recently.

$185 is the equivalent of £140, £35 each, which is what I paid for Doom and Kang locally, so for me they are practically the same price as the new stuff coming out.

I think we’re essentially on the same page. Updated DD would be great but I’m pleased with Psycho Man and especially High Evolutionary. Been waiting for an HE figure for ages and Psycho Man has such a cool design. Definitely the highlights of the wave… but if they really want to make me salivate they’ll reveal a deluxe standalone Dragon Man figure!

The lab coat Reed is oddly compelling to me, which is odd because I usually don’t care for the “civilian” figures like Peter Parker, Moira, etc. For some reason it kind of works for Reed… despite my ranting about updated figures I now want a lab coat Beast!

Normally I'd agree with you but butterfly joints would have either ruined the look of the chest armor or had so little range they'd be pointless I think the figure poses well regardless.

I'd go so far as to say Armored Daredevil was the best figure in that wave.

Thor and Cap are both really good figures, definitely the best versions of the characters we’ve gotten in ML but maybe put them at the bottom of your wishlist and wait for a re-release. It’s got to happen eventually.

Loki is okay. The body suits him well enough I suppose but he’s really lacking in detail. He could definitely have done with at least a new torso with sculpted scalemail.

Leader is also just okay. Decent use of the skinny pizza Spidey body, he’s just got nothing special about him.

Red Skull I really like, he’s a figure that really pops in hand. Definitely recommend him.

Silver Surfer is great, some of the best silver paint Hasbro have done. I personally would have liked to see him bulkier but the body choice certainly suits the character.

MODOK is fantastic. Not much of an action figure but the fit and finish on him so good, he makes a great display piece.

Thanos is great. It took a while but we finally have a definitive classic Thanos. He’s got some really nice paint shading on him, some of the best Hasbro have done. I would have liked to see a stoic head option though.

2-Pack Cyclops is a basic, barebones figure but like Thanos, he has some really nice paint shading on him that captures the art style of the comic well. Despite not being my preferred Cyclops look, that figure is my favorite Legends Cyclops.

Colossus is really good. Very vibrant colors and nice sculpt, aside from the odd shape to his feet.

Nightcrawler is fantastic, best use of the pizza Spidey body by a mile. Some great head options too that make him very versatile in a display.

Jocasta is a very basic figure. She’s nice enough and definitely worth getting if you care about the character.

She-Hulk is a really good sculpt but unless you absolutely want a street clothes version of her, I’d say wait for another version in a more classic costume. That’s what I’m doing.

Surfer, Colossus and Night Crawler are all great, can't reccomend them more, but Surfer will probably run you a bit.

MODOK is fun but being, well MODOK, he is mostly a big piece of plastic with 2 faces and articulated limb. If you like the character then get him.

Thanos is great, get him if you can.

80th Cap looks great and I don't think I've heard anything bad about him, but I was never able to find him.

80th Thor, She-Hulk and Jocasta are all good. I would have rather had a regular costumed She-Hulk. So much so, that I just kind of made my own with the old Hasbro She-Hulk and parts from that one.

Classic Loki is the one figure here I hate. I just think he's to buff to be Loki and scale mail being painted is weak.

I never got Leader because I just wasnt a fan of the body they used and he comes with no accesories at all which is weak.

I haven't got that Red Skull buthe looks good and I've heard it was good.

That Cyclops is great, but good luck getting it for a reasonable price.

Numerous things. SHFs tend to have more parts per figure than MLs, more complex paint applications, and more accessories. Even basic SHFs usually come with 3 or 4 pairs of hands, and 2 or 3 faces. I do feel they're pushing it with the more expensive figures but I feel like the average $55 price isn't too bad. Although some of their bigger figures are worth the higher price point. Instill love Super Buu.

This probably varies, but not the case with my Shulkie. I planned on passing on her and waiting for a classic Sensational version (which is still one of my top wants), but ended up picking her up after seeing in person.

The green looks great in-hand, pinless arms are nice and functional and the neutral head is actually pretty and painted well when compared to a lot of the female sculpts.

Now, stacked leotard bod with big 80's hair and smile plz. Do Byrne proud.

Looks like you're good from the pictures. Looks real. The unmasked head looks good, which is the easiest way to tell. Also there's no large gapping at the elbow joints, which is a good sign. Why are you afraid to open it though?
