Basically a lot of people hated how the current one doesn't have all the dalmation spots the OG toy had( the new toy has some still, but not as much and they're harder too see)

Didn't see a guide in the OP, can anyone give a Canuck good places to buy transformers? Have only ever bought them randomly when I find myself at Walmart, but they have shit selection. Had my interested rekindled after finding some of the old bots I got growing up. If there's nothing online I know at least one LCS that has transformers along with a good chunk of second hand ones.

Remember that in 87, they reissued metroplex and Trypticon
My guess is they wanted to make them both double headmasters, but either it would be too expensive to retool, or metroplex' head would be too small (he was the same size as blaster in g1) so they just rereleased them.

Personally, I love him. Easily one of my favorite figures in years. He has a ton going on with him as far as accessories and modes. I mess around with him in his Nemesis Pax mode a lot more than I initially thought I would. And in his full robot mode he's fairly menacing with his head sculpt and his bulky size. Solid lad. Would recommend. If you feel he's not to your liking, at least you can resell decently.

If only, it's the fact that the new one should be able to emulate the original's plastic color distribution (easy to tell if you compare the distribution between Dinobot and Grimlock) with little to no paint usage (outside of the spots). They basically go out of their way to change it, and the change doesn't even make sense since they didn't paint the chest to match the new colors of the dino head.

If you're in Vancouver or the lower mainland in general, there's A3U's physical store that is great. If not I strongly suggest ordering from them regardless. To be fair the only actually good line of Bay toys we got was RotF which was godlike and made DotM and everything after feel even cheaper and worse. Same with Prime, FE toys were amazing and I think the only regular production toy that held up to that standard was Soundwave, and that's a stretch. Cyberverse as well just feels like even cheaper TAV/RID15. Was a dark time from FoC until TR, and TR was like 50% bombs too.

HA and RTS I have a hard time considering as part of that, really. They were so clearly on a different budget and level of quality. Not to mention all the bayified G1 characters in RTS. The movie wreckers may have been void of character but there is something about these armored up NASCAR altmodes that I enjoy.

I got him on sale for $30 and I still hated it. The base figure is fucking garbage in both robot and alt mode. The trailer looks like ass. The armored mode would be servicable were it not for the fact that joint tolerences are all loose as fuck and the thing flops fucking everywhere. Sure, floor polish, but I can only let that slide if it's one or two minor joints, not literally every major joint on it, especially the ones integral to him being able to stand up. Oh yeah, and lets not forget stickers, and not even good ones. Expect to find half of them already peeling at the corners before you even take him out of the box.

Not sure how you think the WfC mold is shit, or at the very least, worse than the PotP mold.

Finally got T-Wrecks! I'd been planning on grabbing him since he was first announced, but didn't get around to it until now - at last, Rapticon and his old boss are having a long overdue reunion.

One thing I've noticed about this guy is how TIGHT his absolute everything is; got lucky with BW Megs and had no issue with his notoriously super-tight hips, but Wrecks wasn't so fortunate in that department. Pretty much all of his joints and panels are stiff, too, making him a much tougher experience than Megatron was; I'll probably be keeping him in one mode or another rather than constantly transforming him like I do with Megs, just because of how much difficulty he's giving me.

So anyway, now my Rex crew has grown; still waiting on Tyrannocon Rex 'Rexy' to finish the bunch. Gotta say, I really do love the Kingdom Megatron mold - there's no denying that it's badass. Also, I love how Wrecks can totally pass as Diablo from Primal Rage; now all we need is ANOTHER Megatron done in orange as Sauron, two Primal repaints (brown/green and white/blue) as Chaos and Blizzard, a dinobot repaint/retool as Talon, possibly a more extensive dinobot retool to be Vertigo, and retools of Raconite and Paleotrex as Armadon and the cut boss, Necrosan. Primal Rage needs more love.
