RAF Battledress is kino as fuck. Short jacket, very high waisted trousers, for leaping in and out of vehicles. In its day it was supposed to kind of portray HM armed forces as a highly mechanised army. The belt is on the jacket not the trousers, and you can kind of hook the trousers onto the jacket so they work like overalls effectively.

Hate to say it but in a fair debate Michael has no chance, especially against someone who has worked at a major corporation and knows how to couch, market and manipulate. Michael goes almost fully on emotion in subjects like this. What he should be attacking Scott on is for example the MOTU-Mattel-Dreamworks-Universal situation which many have argued against Scott's claims on.

The weird thing is Mattel's current modern toy selling model is actually antithetical to MattyCollector in some cases, like the Jurassic Park Legacy line that RB just had a good video about praising--its well stocked and makes good choices. Origins are good figures, they just dont make enough of them. About the MOTU rights i believe to Mattel. What Scott has said in the recent years is probably the result of miscommunications that may have started just with the situation of the Filmation series. Even if they were all perfect for like a year or more without these twitter gifs or whatever and reports out there, you know with a figure that big and that much weight, you need good knees, hips and ankles to hold that much weight for longevity reasons, right? Surely you want your purchase to last the longest it can while still being able to display it? Usually it's something related to tolerances or engineering not working as expected in the finished product, while this is plain stupidity. The problem is that Michael's stance hinges on the idea that the Sentinel could've been sold at retail. Despite the face that we've never seen figures in that price and size; even the USS Flagg would be less than $200 proportionally. Stores don't want $400 X-men villains that take up space. Companies don't want to make it. Fans want it. Crowdfunding helps fans get a message to the company of what they want.

Plus Scott didn't defend the QC issues and agreed they were bad. He was trying to explain why crowdfunding is a good thing.

They were a lot more confrontational on the corporate stuff than I expected. Now the origin of Spector and the honorary guardsman head, Michael basically just did the right thing and took Scott's word for it on that story since Scott would be one of the few who would know, which was big of Michael really since that was a big part of the video. He could have tried to attack and make insulations on that but didn't. They seem to have an honest difference of opinion on how corporations should behave, with Michael not knowing all the logistics of what a corp would be willing to do and wanting them to innovate more to solve these issues collectors are having. Scott is trying to put a dose of realism as far as what corporations will actually do, which we know is frustrating, because they are #1 after their bottom line and customer happiness is a side thing that they dont always meet.

I don't get why Hasbro Pulse Premium is so awful to Michael. I haven't had any real issues with being able to preorder what I want, and the free shipping makes it worth it for me. I think I save more than I spend with Hasbro Pulse Premium membership, but I only collect Hasbro Marvel, Star Wars, and G.I. Joe figures.

I think Michael stood some ground, but ultimately Scott wiped the floor with him. The argument that corporations shouldn't make money makes no sense to me. Plus Michael didn't really have anything to say when Scott brought in real life toy industry experience.

I expected more drama, but I am glad I made my popcorn.

I think I understand why because I also would be opposed to such a thing (if I actually even bought Hasbro stuff). Some people hate upkeep costs and I certainly wouldn't give a toy company a direct line to my wallet. He wants to pay as little as possible for the figures (MSRP or below if a store puts something on clearance), wants to strategically order to get free shipping by meeting 25-35$ quotas as I do--or use BBTS and load up a huge amount to get the best bang for the 4$--or pick stuff up at retail so no shipping. Because Michael doesn't fathom that the reason a Kimball, West Virginia Walmart that sells $300 in toys a week has no reason to stock a $400 sentinel figure. Or that a small volume Walmart isn't going to care about restocking toys. Or that a company can't just push retailers to restock if they aren't making money on the product in the first place.

You want to see why this happens, look at how Figuarts sell at Barnes and Noble. B&N got ALL their stores carrying Japanese imports and guess what? They often end up in clearance because there's no market for them.

Michael doesn't get that things aren't like they were when he was a bobbleheaded kid in the 80s. Or the benefits we get from ow things are now. X-men was the biggest comic in America in the early 90's and the Sentinel we got then was a glorified gimmick toy.

Scott did pretty well overall, the only really issue was going on the long tangent explaining Spector and why he isn't a Mary sue or self insert. Which is understandable because Michael's argument was partly that he was trying to rewrite MOTU or make his character prominent.

The more succinct argument would've been

It count for individual products as well: companies put things on the market and then it's up to you. Honestly, Pulse Premium has definitely paid itself for me. I've probably saved over $100 in shipping and have first access to any exclusives or figures I want. Definitely made things much easier, even if they can be a little slow on shipping preorders at times.
