I don't recognize the top one. but I would start by looking at the engines to Star Wars sets.
And I'm pretty sure the bottom one is not an official set. The circular printed tile is from aquazone but no aquazone set has a windshield like that or uses a section shaped like that as far as I know.

comes with two Dragon knights in a wagon

Yet they have one black knights shield, one light grey helmet( royal knights) and fly the royal knights colours.

Black knights ended in 1994 and these themes with mistakes are 1995-1996 era
I guess LEGO is just using up surplus black knight parts or maybe they don't give a shit (this was start of lego decline) ,
The fright knights are terrible for example the last of the faction sets.
You can see the decline in design and theme in the last 20th space themes as well , LEGO lost a lot of good people around then.

Lego medieval lore should be discussed more, my head cannon goes:
>Every set and line are cannon, their only different perspectives and different points of the same decade long war

>Wether he has claim to the throne or is just evil is up to you
>Every System set is a different angle and POV during the war
>As the war went on both sides were reduced and as modernity approaches magic and dragons have mostly gone away as seen on Kingdoms
>Meanwhile the survivors of the House of the Crown escaped the lands of Kingdoms and re established themselves on an uncharted mythical land of a territory, (the lego castles line) changing their sigil in the process
>This is also the land of the Vikings
>This is the reason why we see humans vs mythical creatures in Castle

Speaking of poverty I've been trying to replicate insectoid wings. I have to paint the underside of the print with corrector fluid for it to be noticed. It's easy but the wire pattern is a problem.
It dries instantly so I cannot direct the flow with a toothpick. Although rubbing alcohol works fine to remove it, the hard part is finding something thin enough to thin the pattern precisely. Maybe a stripped-down Q-tip?
Also some other custom prints to show that my printer's work fine as long as they have a white background.

The helmet is DARK gray, not light gray. And the Dragon Knights oval shaped shield as well as their logo overall is very similar to the Black Knights. Perhaps they killed a Black Knight and took it from him. Its a Dragon Knights wagon, not multiple factions. The torsos trump everything else.

I understand the appeal of making shit like this in LDD as much like when you get a character editor in a videogame. Where you can break the rules to get more advanced and unique options that weren't necessarily intended within a program.
But the appeal of Lego's pysicality is completely lost. The CAD becomes the endgoal instead of just being the process for a build or the preservation as a blueprint for builds.

Sometimes it falls into the category of someone without much bricks not knowing any better, or trying to style and get wow points of people not familiar enough with Lego wich i guess could be seen as "fooling" people.

Building fuckhueg (even if structurally sound physically) things in cad just isn't nearly as satisfying as just a tiny good build you can actually hold and fiddle with IRL.

One of the main points of lego is the constraints put on you by the pieces themselves, idk how anyone can find satisfaction working outside them. Part of the satisfaction gained in my experience when building virtually comes from creating something that could exist irl, and be sturdy and cool looking.

Saved! I personally don't like custom stickers and STAMPs but the build is solid and the Chiquita banana livery looks fresh.
If you're a mega autist: the technic axle/pin piece in tan also exists in old-gray if you want to make it more evenly coloured.

The funkier shaping of OG f1 cars always looked cool af and you captured it super well!

Kinda generic japan liftback so anything from 70s-80s Mazda RX7 (my guess due to massive rear window section) to early 90s Nissan S13 200SX-240SX range. UNLESS round taillights are specific hint as none of mentioned above has round taillights.

I was going for an FC. I tried to do the window pane tail lights but they looked too big, so I just used the 1x1 round tiles as an abstraction of the circle tail lights. I want to use a 2x2 tile to represent the hood scoop and angle the rest of the hood/front with a hinge or something, but I couldnt figure that out

RX7 was my 1st guess but even then I've been thinking of wrong model. I expected it to be older one, due to general proportions (FD should probably have 1 stud longer hood or 4stud long side panel instead of 3) and rounded hood combined with black trim. Very popular pattern for these.

Huh, nice catch anon. I own all the life on mars sets from my childhood collection and hence it'd be a pita to try and remake, but it at least looks like it'd fit on the red mech, but be a bit wonky with the blue.

Gives me huge nostalgia for the tan set, it was modular and could reform into a two legged mech like the red/blue ones.

I'm sorta thinking the theme is underrated as a whole now, it has cool sand blue / sand red / sand purple parts, and a modular system built in. Good shit.

I've had like 3-5 big MOCs between 70-85% completed for a few years and I always start a new one before anything gets completed. The only things I've finished are dinky vehicles, big stuff never gets done.

Even if I do finish something it takes even more effort to take proper and presentable photos. It's easier to just shitpost and forget I should be doing something more fulfilling with my time and effort.

Yeah, we get what's practically the same Passenger Train with a circle of track and the same Freight train with a siding and larger loop of track every 4 years whenever they have to swap out whatever power system is being used currently (RC/Power Functions/Powered Up). There hasn't even been a new Train station since 2016, let alone anything else besides the two starter sets they always do and some track.

Licenseshit aside, it's completely out of scale with traditional Lego train sets.

Just release some train engines in the style of the Crocodile at a smaller scale in the $40-$60 range and make them compatible with the PU stuff. Release a few train car sets that come with multiple builds in the 3-in-1 style (kinda like the Super Chief cars in pic related). Fuck it, release a train station in the Modular line for all I care. Just give Trains more love than the same boring-ass City sets and the irregular Creator Expert set.

There are hundreds of people piecing old modulars together and it creates painful prices. There are substitutions you can make to have it cost literally like 1/4th the aftermarket price, but it obviously would reflect that in resale value (unsellable if part subtypes are incorrect), but you could get the facade for your city for incredibly cheap if you didn't care.

Every old modular has unique / retired parts that have absurd prices if they are out of production. Quick example would be arch styles have been redesigned to be raised arch, or the white windows with solid studs vs hollow studs.

Pinch points for cafe corner are things with different molds or haven't been reprinted like the dark blue arches, dark red slopes with the old rough texture, modified plates without the groove, etc.

Anyhow, you probably know this if you're piecing it together. Good luck! Every store I bought stuff from for mine, I wound up buying lots of other things. Shipping costs add up.

Mocs come in ebb and flows. You figure out a part. Let it sit. Finish it up mostly but get stuck. Let it sit. Waste hours not making progress. Let it sit. On a whim through the wheel around 180 degrees and turn out with something completely different then intended. Cleanup. Then testing and ordering.

That's what happens most often. Even after that you keep fiddling with it. Big mocs like houses take quite some time in stud.io until i'm willing to commit to ordering loads of pieces. The thought of that bigger investment usually stunts me too.

I think Adventurefags don't like it as an Adventure set and for Spookyfags it doesn't really have an instantly iconic spooky viby either.
As a "themepark" set it's pretty good I think, but i'm not a huge themepark guy.
The architecture is nice i guess? But it's a bit of a strange proportioned yet relatively prain looking structure.

It did many different things but didn't really hit a homerun on any of them. I am a huge spookyfag and really like the Adventureres throwbacks but the other parts don't really do it for me. The action is kinda neat I guess but a rather big parts hog for something that's for me just "neat".

Just recently got back into legos after starting my job at a legoland hotel, I made a wishlist and was wondering what you guys thought about it, is there something on here not worth getting? I don't care if you buy the damn bottle but I'm personally offended about the blacksmith, it just goes too far against what lego sets should be like. It's way too detailed and overscaled. Notice how it barely has any visible studs as lego goes above and beyond wasting pieces trying to hide its own nature trying to turn it into a smooth hyper realistic scale model.
Of that size and with that amount of pieces they could have done an entire medieval market instead of a single giant shop.

This is not the direction Lego should be going and to spend money on it is to endorse it and generate demand for more of the sort.

They look like Lego to me. A bit more higher end on the MOC spectrum than most builds, but still very much Lego despite what you think. And this would apply to any sort of MOC that had this level of detail put into them, not just trains. See now this I can understand. I get what you're trying to say that it's bland because it's realistic, but the "greater creative vision" is trying to get that realism down using just Lego pieces, and that's where the challenge/fun comes for these types of builds.

On the subject of the Ghost Train, I get why you post that as an example of something that's not "boring and uninspired", but the Ghost Train isn't trying to be a Train set. It's first and foremost a playset that happens to have a train in it (same thing applies to the Hidden Side train too). And that's perfectly okay. You can have fantasy trains with silly gimmicks like flapping wings or a chomping mouth on them coexist alongside realistic trains that are based on a prototype model. Remember, the Ghost Train was being sold alongside the Maersk train and the Horizon Express.

Set 6018 is screwed up as well to this day no one knows if its a Black falcon set or black knights set

The only thing that gives away this set's affiliation to the Black Falcons is a single shield with the Black Falcons' crest on it. The design of the minifigures chainmail as well as the boat's dragon head suggest a connection to the Black Knights, Although Black knights or black falcons never used Dray grey helmets of that type.

i grew up poor so instead of lego my family would usually buy me shitty chinese knockoffs (much, much lower quality than current bootlego) and those cannons were just one piece of plastic without any firing mechanism
so when some years later i got the cannon in an actual lego set it blew my mind when i found out that you can actually fire the round 1x1 bricks with it

Currently the spring loaded ones from 2013/2014 that come with Star Wars sets, as a kid I always wanted one of the big technic launchers with the rubber end, they looked pretty heavy and could do serious damage if hit in the eye.

However I get that with the "regular" blocks you get a little more freedom to build what you want instead of what lego designed it for, I still think in my opinion the more advanced mechanics in technic like gearbox, differential, motor, ect are more fun to build.

The only remotely hard things regarding lego building have been:
1. Reading the shit quality instructions, being able to tell the difference between colors
2. Building some of the complicated technic transmission systems (one wrong gear placement and you have to rip progress apart)

One big complicated technic set was enough for me, never again, building them is a pain on my hands and patience.

Anyway here's a $60 lot. Looks like all the rare stuff is there for dolphin point, a bonus palm tree / horse foal / dragon, and some other fright knight stuff and whatnot. I'll prob piece the lighthouse together and sell it since it has the instructions and rare parts already.

Tempted to make a big bat castle for the fright knights, their sets are obviously very sub par as far as castle goes as it's from the era where juniorization began, but I still think the theme has some cool stuff, the big castle has a great shape to it.

I'm running out of space to put my MOCs, it feels painful to take any of them apart considering I buy stuff just for them, but space is obviously limited.

Awesome MOC anon. I don't get why people disliked this movie so much. There are no childish characters and no stupid jokes as in previous ones, the story is much more interesting and the mummy really looks like a bandaged mummy of an evil and sophisticated Egyptian princess instead of a random bald man. If you or someone tells me the secrets of perfect webm making I'll show you my 4 wheel steering blacktron 1 mega battrax with working suspension. I yearn for this quality of representation for my MOCs (this buggy looks incredibly cute and fun to zip around)

Despite seeming like a basic thing there is a paltry amount of info for making this content. What I learned in 20 mins is:

Keep vid to 10-15 seconds
On Cloudconverter, change audio codec to none, video codec to vp8 for 4chan compatibility, but any change in resolution made my webm look like scrunched shit, the 800x450 looks great though

Anyhow we are almost at 150 so here's another Aquazone moc

I think my video being very short helps, what settings I used and what site I used I don't remember. Not sure I even fiddled with codecs so you sound like you're better on track than I was.

I did do a few takes where I didn't move my hand or the feature too fast as it would reveal the shitty fps making it look choppy like in this one. Keeping the actual motions you record slow and smooth is key.

(my mother keeps this super tiny aquanauts sub intact, it's a very cute set and it's adorable she likes it so much. I do too and even replaced one of the trans-neon orange arm pieces for her after she accidentally broke one)
