Are you looking for self-contained stories over a couple of issues or creative runs?

Spider-Man had some phenomenal runs but you'd be committing yourself to reading dozens of issues. ASM was consistently excellent from #1 all the way to very late 80's with >>9336603 KLH being a near perfect ending point. Roger Stern's run on the title in the 80's being a particular high water mark.

There are quite a few honestly. The original Lee/Ditko and Lee/Romita runs are just classic. You can't go wrong with them. Then you've got stuff like the Night Gwen Stacy Died, the Punisher, Morbius and Harry as the Green Goblin during the 70s, in the 80s you have the Hobgoblin mystery, him teaming up with Black Cat, the Symbiote stuff with Venom, the death of Jean DeWolfe, Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut, the Kid who Collects Spider-Man and Kraven's last hunt. For the 90s you're entering Clone Saga territory which is not great. Ben Reilly is fun though and Amazing Spider-Man #400 still makes me cry even though I know how it all turns out. The 2000s has Ultimate Spider-Man which is a fantastic update (at least at the time, it's pretty dated itself now) to the Spider-Man mythos. I personally really enjoyed JMS' run up until editorial fucked with things by forcing Sins Past and OMD on us. After Civil War at the end of the 2000s Spidee-Man comics get pretty weak. There are some decent stories here and there but nothing quite as iconic as the ones I listed.

Great story.

Maximum Carnage is a fun read. Spider-Man The Other was interesting with what they were trying to do, but of course they immediately retconned all of it back to the status quo.

Your tolerance for pain is honestly impressive. I read all the way up to OMD when I quit for good and, in hindsight, I never should have gone past Venom's second defeat. By the time Carnage arrives it was all downhill.

And yeah, I stopped after OMD as well. They were finally doing something different with the character with the new spider-powers and him beating the absolute dogshit out of Kingpin, but instead had to walk back everything just to keep someone who should have died ages ago alive.

Maximum Carnage legitimately ruins the character of Peter Parker. He spend the entire event stopping others from killing Carnage while Cletus' body count goes into the triple digits. It's one thing to try and do the right thing but the writers went down a path that had no reasonable exit, Peter won't kill Cletus... so Carnage gets to murder women and children while banging a hot chick and laughing it up. It's honestly a problem with most comics, after a certain point (usually killing an orphanage worth of babies) choosing to not kill a villain is NOT altruistic It's just retarded. After the Joker has broken out of the Asylum for the 900th time and murdered his 8756th victim It's time for Batman to make an exception to his no-killing rule.

Honestly it was more forgettable than outright bad. Like I can remember individual sorry arcs but fuck all if I remember what actually happened in them. Some of it was genuinely fun though like Superior Spider-Man. Superior Foes of Soider-Man was top tier too I don't care what anyone says, but that was Spencer. But the lead up to Superior? Couldn't tell ya. Hell, I have a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #700 signed by Stan Lee and graded but I can't remember what happened other than the basic plot of Otto swapped bodied with Peter. I can remember kind of big plot points like Parker Industries, Cindy Moon, Red Goblin, the Clone Conspiracy but I can't remember much outside of that. Whereas I can outright quote some of the stories I listed earlier.

I think one of the main reasons Slott's tenure was so forgettable was because it was all hype and no payoff. Every story promised to be an event that would change the status quo forever... and ended with the status quo. So you had events that were scripted as some sort of tremendously intriguing drama that ended with a moist little plop.

Don't get me wrong; comics were relatively low stakes for decades but the monthly adventures of Spider-Man or Daredevil or whomever were rarely billed as some huge event. They were fun little self-contained stories where the hero was introduced to the villain, struggled a bit, then overcame. They were escapism and promised nothing more than a cheap thrill but they had the benefit of time as well. The writer could build to bigger payoffs as they weaved a background plot begind the villain-of-month main feature... but those payoffs had to y'know... payoff. If you killed a supporting character they stayed dead.

Modern writers feel the need to promise bigger and bigger life changing events but death is meaningless and change is abhorred. Peter graduated from high school in 28 issues, then college by 185, then he was married by the 290's. Life was progressing at a normal clip then they decided Pete should regress to a 20-something bachelor and have refused to do anything permanent with him in the last 14 years

Honestly, Slott wasn’t terrible the entire time. Some of the stuff leading up to Superior was decent, like Scorpion and Smythe attacking the Jameson family, or the stuff with Lizard and Morbius. I’ll even admit that Spider Island was okay. The rest is pretty forgettable.
Superior Spider-Man had me hooked for the whole run, I actually enjoyed it. But once Peter came back, the stories were forgettable again, even Spider Verse, and the Parker Industries garbage was intolerable. Red Goblin’s arc was an okay end to it all but holy fuck, I’m glad Spencer took the reins when he did.

I personally liked it all the way through the end of the first Miles arc, but there's definitely a period after Ultimatum where there's a steady decline, but even then there are still good bits like Aunt May ending up running a boarding house for teen heroes, and The Death of Spider-Man was a solid story aside from tying into Avengers vs. New Ultimates, which was one of the dumbest events I've ever read

Thor, I’m not sure if I want another one. But he’s majorly underrepresented so I hope we get a good outfit for him regardless. If it ends up being classic Beta Ray Bill, I’ll get him.
As for Iron Man, literally throw a dart at the attached image and I’ll buy him. I know comic Iron Man suits are starting to make people upset with how many have been cranked out lately, but I like them so far.

Facts. The problem with the movie armors is that a ton of them are used for like 5 seconds and look so marginally different from eachother they are basically just repaints.

it's an excellent figure and since it was an exclusive when they do the real one for the show it likely wont even come with as many accessories and still just be a rerelease

I would say, the most iconic suits that 100% deserve figures, would be:

1st appearance
Gold version of 1st appearance
Classic suit (this was made)
Silver Centurion (this was made)
Neo-Classic (we need a redo)
Telepresence Armor
Modular (just got made)
Heroes Return Armor
Extremis (needs a redo)
Bleeding Edge (needs a redo)

And then you start to get too modern to really keep up. His black and gold suit, or Superior, both are his main suits he used for a bit so I want them, but they aren’t as classic either.

Additionally, we got a War Machine and Stealth Suit, two which I consider important as well. There’s others I’d want, like main suit he was using before Extremis, or the most recent suit, but I can live without those.

I honestly love the mummy design of the leaked live action Moon Knight so I can't wait to grab one of him. Keeps the a whiteish look and fits with his Egyption god power origin. That is if the leak was real. I've heard that the cape is added post production with cgi as to why he's missing one here.

I feel like the main thing that would ruin a figure like him is the lack of proper wash. I know that can be done by yourself but it'd still be nice if Hasbro even attempted to do it enough to make details stick out. White Vision from the MCU would have benefited a lot from one.

Its when the paint texture looks grainy like the skin of an orange instead of smooth. It usually happens due to poor technique somewhere along the line (mainly improper spray technique from a rattle can or airbrush but can also occur from handbrushing). I would honestly say any iron man made before 2018 (/the ANAD Modern one in the Okoye wave) is too small. They often don’t look like they can fit a human inside them without the armor being skin tight. Additionally, prior to then, all the comic armors didn’t have interchangeable hands or heads, and the articulation was at least a little lacking in some area or another.

The Neo Classic Iron Man is a great example. The existing figure still uses Y-joint hips, and he has one fist and one blasting hand. He’s a bit of a pinhead as well, and his figure is based on a mold from like 2013. He could use a redo. I don’t imagine it would be too much work to make one based on the 80th Classic mold.

Be careful with a clear coat, if you fuck it up it will add another layer of peel & it is really easy to do this if its a gloss coat.

I dont think hating it was what the original post was getting at.
But I agree with you, the mummy theme is fitting and it's far more interesting than the standard skin tight textured tacticool look a lot of other live action costumes have.
I just hope he actually wears it throughout the series and dont pull a Daredevil where he only wears it during the last episode (and then ditches it again for the next season).

Same here anon, I enjoy the MCU too though I think some of their more recent choices have been poor I would be lying if I said I wasnt somewhat interested in the upcoming projects and this weird multiverse stuff they're doing.
Bringing this back to toys though, I wonder if bandai will make a figure of Moon Knight once the show airs? They made stuff for 2/4 of the first set of Disney+ shows.

I think the problem is this piece. the ratchet bump is too small and the bump being attached to thin pieces of plastic that will easily flex out of the way is making it basically non-existent on such a big figure. I have no idea how hasbro is going to fix this since they designed the sentinel to not be taken apart, so they can't even manufacture replacement pieces to switch out yourself.

Seeing this makes me laugh a bit. I recently took apart my Autobot Ark figure because the ratchets were too strong, and despite some minor issues, disassembling it was difficult. Every ratchet tooth was separate from the rest of the figure and was hard as hell (I believe it was Nylon). Seeing the sentinel use those weird disks is bizarre, last time I saw something like that on Titan was on Metroplex and Fortress Maximus and it actually worked on those figures.

I honestly don't think there's much you can do. Most fixes I can think of would be temporary or don't work well with that sort of ratchet. You'd be better off making it yourself out of a sturdier material with a slightly more suitable ratchet tooth, or waiting for someone to sell replacements. Since it's so difficult to dissemble, everyone's screwed so the extra pressure method from the video is the best you can do.

I have read maybe two issues of Moon Knight and couple guest appearances, so I know practically dick about the character. But according to some bio videos I've seen he is essentially a rich dude who is possessed by an Egyptian moon god that gives him powers and he fights crime, but depending on the writer sometimes he has split personalities and has no powers, sometimes the split personality is a ruse, sometimes he is actually two dudes working in tandem. But either way he has a cool costume, and that picture looks even cooler, because Egyptian shit is never not cool.

They're arriving with the wax paper stuck to them, from something that was applied at the factory and then dried after the paper had stuck to it. It's basically gluing the wax paper to the figure. In at least one case that I saw, the paint had already flaked off from where the wax paper had come lose from the the figure while it was still inside package, meaning it's not just a case of people having been careless about removing the wax paper. IN addition, there's all this white resin type of powder that's stuck to the finish on a lot of these, and depending on where its located on the figure, getting rid of it means peeling away the finish too.

Universe one is more likely since it's literally just like a big Marvel Legends figure. But again, price point is going to be probably too much to worry about. Also, not sure they'd do the electronics, but pretty sure most people wouldn't care.

Like the recent Red Skulls jumpsuit would be great in a more neutral beige or gray. It's not about male vs female. There have been plenty of female Fortnite figures. The companies have decided to make the wacky skins instead of the tactical ones. Good for them for not taking the easy road. The tactical skins would be cheap and easy to make versus the detailed figures they decided to make. The tactical skins are less toyetic but are more popular amongst the playerbase.

I'm hoping for one too, it's one of my favorite suits for Spider-Man. The SHF also lacks bicep swivel which is the thing that made me decide not to get it. A Spider-Man figure should not be lacking in any kind of articulation.
