I don't know what to do with this line, the sculpts look great but the fucking static full spread wings on every figure really bothers me.

um... I've never seen well-articulated bat-type wings.
the issue here is there is one very good neutral pose for wings that would work for both standing and gliding. It's the one you see when you google 'gargoyles' the most stock stance for goliath. but they didn't use that, and I cannot for the life of me understand why. They would have fit better in the packaging, balanced better, looked better in most poses..

I wouldn't mind if they used some ACTUALLY flexible material though, something appropriate.. but also super durable. After all they aren't coloring these like the show anyway, with the black backing to the wings, so it can be just one color material. (hell they aren't even painting the arm and finger parts of the wings properly, Goliath needed a few more coats so his skin's a darker purple on the wings)

This is a dream line and I'd buy all the characters if there was an option to get them with sensible wings even if I had to pay more per figure or get an additional pack of wings, but as it stands now I just can't do anything with these figures. I haven't bought Goliath and have no plans to buy any other figure.

Because articulated wings always look awkward. Because you can't have a natural curve to them. They always have to be flat or the plastic doesn't collapse just right. Swapping wings out is a much better option.

yeah, as it is the back of the wings here don't help at all with posing. they overlap and pop each other out if you try to relax the wings into a more natural gliding pose instead of held up in a big 'intimidation' pose.

they really do have good joints in neca figures even if theyre usually super tight and the plastic is all flexible enough that nothing is easy to force...kinda makes me imagine trying to move a real body around, you never hit a HARD joint resistance point, resistance just grows as you flex further..
here I think I would have been more into the ability to run on all fours than what they prioritized. and the pec joints are weird, but it seems hudson doesn't have that problem going by the image.

it is weird how little complaints i'm seeing in reviews of goliath
sure he's amazing, but he's not flawless. the krelbows look weird, the elbow spikes look a little bad, the knees are an odd choice with the kneecap attached to the upper part of the leg instead of the bottom, the overall attempt at adding realism and the slightly off proportions, the poor head flexibility, the strange pectoral flaps, the difficult to flex and weirdly undetailed tail, and the wings..

For that matter, I'm not seeing people praising the parts that work great, like the foot articulation, the fucking PERFECT loincloth (could have gone for a solid piece for the buckle but it looks good at least), and the super nice detailing on the book prop.

when a toy or movie review avoids anything negative at all. even obvious flaws, you can tell they were given a perk.

We know we're getting Griff and they showed the unpainted prototype for Doc in his radiation suit. The last interview Randy did with Fwoosh, he seemed pretty happy wirh how the line had done. Talked about an accessory set (and that's how we'd get Einstein).

Hopefully they do the Western looks to close out the line.

Man I'm having a hard time picking what Jason I want, right now I've narrowed it down to four:
>Part 3
The most iconic look, has the 3 chevron mask which is my preferred style and has a bunch of accessories
>Part 6
Favourite film and the toolbelt look is cool but minimal accessories compared to other Jason's and no cheek chevrons
>Part 7
Best zombie head imo and I really like undead Jason, also comes with a fuck ton of stuff but I don't care for the rest of the design
>FvJ
Zombie Jason which I like, has the 3 chevron mask, don't like the unmasked head.

I guess an option is buying 6, 7 and FvJ and using the latter two heads on 6 but idk if they would even work or look passable.

In my opinion their best ultimate Jason is their Part 7

All the other ones you list are good figures, but they all are older and feel a little dated compared to their new stuff. Not to say you wouldn't be happy with them though.

NECA's ultimate Part 5 Roy Burns and Part 7 Jason have the best quality details and articulation, both have double jointed elbows and accessories to represent every kill from their movie. I think those 2 are hands down the best, but you're looking for Jason, so I guess ignore Roy.

Don't trust /toy/'s opinion on such a thing, trust scientific studies. Unfortunately they are only starting to do deep studies into health effects of the class of phthalate chemicals (there are many different ones and almost no way to tell which is in the toys you buy) that are used in the plasticizing process.

So it's basically a case of "put whatever shit you want in the products and we'll find out if it kills people later" which is typical for humans who do whatever now and worry about the consequences later. The studies we have however have not found a causal link, only a correlation between higher phthalate levels and early death, so people will be able to rationalize them away until someone definitively finds causation.

A few have been banned, but generally phthalates are everywhere. Still people aren't limiting their exposure as much as they could by having a ton of figures, so its a calculated risk one is taking, as when someone uses any product.

The point from the articles and studies are it is still unknown although the study found high phthalate levels are correlated with early death as opposed to low levels. Also one can't only avoid these by avoiding toys as they are in tons of food packaging and such which may or may not be as bad as breathing it in over the long term. Also some furniture and computer equipment also contains these chemicals. The problem is we do not know enough yet.

I hear Kotobukia has gone phthalate free on some of their products although I have no idea how they are making plastic products without phthalates though. I doubt American companies like Hasbro, S7, Neca, and Mattel would do it though as phthalates are extremely cheap and thus keep costs down over any alternatives
