How are they studio series. They weren't in any movies, or even g1 us shows.
Thunderwing wasn't in any animated sequence outside of commercials, and a tfprime video game.

Painting is all done, guy is fixed.

i just compared him to optimus, he's one head shorter than he should be. Blackarachnia is easily a head taller than she should be, these are just size-class woes.
don't forget though rattrap clearly grew in size in the show, so his beast mode is scaled properly to the others

Yeh. I did a bunch of research on it and apparently the authentic one actually has fragility problems with the torso and also loose joints. But this one and one review of the ko have tab breaking issues.

Ultimately I got this one because I like the glowy dino eyes, a better lazer beam effect, and english voice chip. And 200 dollars less.

Do I was at the store today and found an air razor in a Tracks box but it wasn't an error someone just took out tracks and replaced her with an air raxor still tied to the cardboard. Transformers is kind of the exception with how villain stacked it is. Barring the first year of G1 the sides are usually pretty well balanced.

Its funny I would have said the exact same about Blackarachnia but rewatching the show made me realize she is actually gets way more center stage. As a kid I pretty much only watched season one and some of season 2, whatever we had recorded on vhs. I was never a fan of the transmetal stuff, but the rattrap and taranchulus toys were pretty cool.

i have the OG but his articulation is definitely dated, so those ankle rockers and probably wrist swivels on the legacy titan will be welcome.
also the OG yellows like nothing else so i can see a lot of people replacing theirs.
it's a problem of size, as they've already done all the big guys and even pulled the ark out their ass. which to me pokes a hole in this new 'x class is a price point not a size' argument they strung up during WFC trilogy

Honestly, the main problem with Cybertron Metro is that he has the triple whammy of being a literal who (when people talk about UT characters, I've rarely heard anyone talk about him), his alt mode looks kind of meh and being a titan that's being sold at a higher price point. I feel like they should have picked Tidal Wave first and tried shoving Cybertron Metroplex into something before they revealed it.

I'll give credit to the new figure, the little I saw looked nicer than the original.

Not him (I'm me) and I only have Abominus, but I'd be pretty wary of separating combining teams even if I wanted to. Especially for someone prolific like First Aid or Swindle, you'd want a medic or a shiteater somewhere else, but they're sort of obligated to be on standby for their comboner team, and that drives me literally insane

I guess the disconnect I have with Siege Starscream is that I actually like to transform my transformers, so the fact that it turns into a brick that looks like nothing does nothing for me. Earthrise Starscream has a real altmode so despite its more limited articulation it's still the better transformer.

Looking at just Seige seekers made including OGs it's about $230 for all of them and that's with no sales or discounts
Looking at the Earthrise molds if you are looking at about $190 if you are just getting the ones that showed up in the cartoon (3 og and 3 cones)

getting all of them is $420ish. If we were seeing new Seekers like Optimus and Bees, sure that's a fair point but we are talking 10 years or more and also remember these figures stay up past their retail opened even after new versions roll out.

I'm not saying one should or shouldn't buy them, I myself haven't but I totally understand a person that would even if they are not one for one what they want.

I suppose a better way to do him would be for both the front and rear to split in half, make arms and legs.. have proper robot jointing inside (or not if you think you can make it look cool with each segment still articulating) and youd still be able to curl up probably..
the real question is though, do we fucking standardize what he is? because he's always been kind of a millipedesque isopod with centipede jaws and a fucking stinger

Well, while they're a little expensive they're also the only way you can get the accessories, and imo it's well worth it in Cheetor's case. It really does make him feel complete.

I have a few other sets that might not be as worth it (both the Primal sets, the Hot Shot set, the Scorponok set) but I'd say the new Cheetor set is money well spent if you like Cheetor. That 3P set seems to be injection molding and includes some other stuff so that might be the way to go.

Oh I get it, some people wanted removable missiles. I can understand that. the toyetic stinger, I guess I can see some wanting that.
I gotta admit the extenders do kinda help, especially pelvis.. and filling in hollow parts is nice and all, but all of this would have to come off during transformation right? so that's a pain. and he's still gonna have chunky square chest and shins for no reason.

funny thing is logically the longer pelvis would actually provide the extra room for the longer thighs, resulting in a scorpion that just had.. some extra bulge back there. but I'm not surprised it doesn't work that way.
I thought at least one leg folded into itself meaning the shin panels would have to come off? but regardless.. yeah this is neat stuff. interesting. I found one for cheetor that gives you a blade to plug into his silly tail whip so now it's a badass scimitar, I fuckin want it.

They make siege megatron
And from him we get nine uses of the mold.
At a time where they're fine using higher price points to justify more complex transformations.
But to make the siege mode work, he needs a comically small turret.
Instead of using a little more moving parts, doing something like this, and getting pretty close to a g1 look.
It's like they fell in love with the 2015 version and we're just trying to make a voyager version of it, and failed terribly.

Or, they really wanted to give cybertronian megs a different look and were seriously hampered by not making a new mold for later versions.
I'm worried we won't get a new megatron for a few years now.

I like the Ironhide mold, I have Ratchet and Crosshairs.

But yeah, Big Hand was very promising, as was getting more guns, but the asymmetry and confusing usability of some of the parts made it not so great. Leg-guns look fine but uh, no idea what to do with the torso. Big Hand is too big for deluxes but too smol for voyagers I think, dunno. Had him back in his box since like, February or something.

I'll admit I'm creatively bankrupt, as well as too poor to buy multiple stuff. Bought and returned Cog since he was loose and not very fun - wanted him to be a mini-Fort Max. I did warm up to baseformers but asymmetry and some minor details made me skip the boners aside from Vertebreak.

Sixgun is the opposite. I struggle to place his parts in my cog combos, none of his pieces look particularly good on other figs, and be just feels cheap to hold. Joints are incredibly week, which is a shame because i like his bot mode

In all honesty, i like modulators better since they’re both good. We just needed a third mold and not ANOTHER FUCKING WEAPONIZER

to me he was basically the muscle. Terrorsaur and Waspinator were light on firepower because flying dudes have to stay light, and Tarantulas was kind of a black mage ninja with all of his crazy poisons and attacking from unexpected locations, but Scorponok was the heavy hitter you put on the front line to just fire tons of missiles at people. That and the ol' acid tail once in a while. That's part of how Inferno sorta took his spot, the big dumb loyal cannon you point and fire, no shock Megatron has one of those. Really his tactical choices were excellent. The fliers to snatch things and do recon, the wild card doing his weird science (though it seems scorponok does a little too?) and initially at least, Dinobot to question him and make sure he was on the right path
whereas Primal basically hired a snide cab driver to take him, a slow and steady smart guy, and a hotshot kid on a road trip with a few dozen of their mates in stasis.. he was NOT prepared for war.

here's the thing
visually? it's not perfect. I don't mind the lack of shadows at all, but a few of the faces are a little goofy from some angles, and the animation ranges from perfectly fine to 'what kind of canadian idiot thinks that's how you throw a punch?'
tonally? it's about the closest thing to perfection you could ask for. Not just intelligent and well thought out, but pretty damn deep and with real stakes... with only occasional moments of goofy rubber-physics cartoon nonsense. very brief, out of place, but they get out of the way.
and in terms of characters there's no contest, no other transformers show has this kind of cast. There's few enough of 'em that everyone gets to play a role frequently and it ends up feeling like a dang star trek ensemble cast. perfectly balanced.

A lot of the flaws are front-loaded since they learned as they go. It takes the better part of a season for them to work out which character has what role/personality and what the overall tone should be; in the first season you've got some really bad episodes of Cheetor at maximum bumblebee-esque kid appeal and plots about fucking beans. That's also why there's such a stark contrast in the detail with which people describe the different characters in the modern day, since the ones which only showed up in the first season didn't benefit from the improvements they made in plotting and character writing.

The CG looks like ass but I can forgive it for being well animated in motion. I have a hard time believing people can't at least get used to Beast Wars. Like it's nowhere near as bad as the first season of Reboot where the early episodes have the characters sliding around and only moving one joint at a time, that's hard to look at.

I had to rewatch the scene and though there's never a solid moment to compare the characters against each other, the toy's shortness is accurate. Dude's shorter than Arcee. Though it is easy to forget that even in Bumblebee movie, Bee-Boy isn't the tiniest Autobot by a substantial margin anymore.

as someone with two airwaves, his main problem is that he lacks connection points. he's basically completely contained in carrier mode

he's fun for building robots, but ironworks is better for bases

I don't know about that, he has his Air base mode that is easily accessible. You just have to think outside the box when it comes to Airwave, people always forget the 5mm pegs he has on him that can become really useful.

I respect your opinion, but remain unconvinced. Airwave is missing Ironworks' ability to have ramps that reach the ground, and the options to connect ramps at 90 degree angles. Ironworks is a base, airwave is a runway.

Airwave makes up for this by having functional non-base modes like a crawler carrier to transport micromasters into battle, or a turret to defend the titan bases.

It's just a lot easier to make good base modes with ironworks than it is with airwave. Can you use a hammer to drive a screw? Yes. But I'd rather have a drill.

I took some pictures to illustrate my point, (built a base mode I really like for airwave too) but we're at the image limit and I need sleep.

I'd love to see more cool airwave base modes though. Might inspire me to build with him more
