i recently bought the creator T2 campervan on a whim, but reconsidering it, it's not something i'd spend $150 on. Taking good pictures is tiring and an overall huge hassle for me, spending hours on a moc is more fun and. Taking some pics while on a trip isn't the same for me, because I have to spend a lot of time setting things up.
Then having to awkawrdly crouch behind a table for hours while fidgeting with large pieces of diffusing papers than accidentally shift and several lamps on extension cords to often get a mediocre result. Then plugging in a few cords only to instantly see where you fucked up but you missed it during shooting. Overall a huge pain in the butt.
Sure I have a few pics I really like but I really have to put myself towards doing it everytime. And often they end up to bad for me to post.
Shots like this took me an entire day to set up properly in a house that already had some beneficial conditions to them instead of my dark basement I live now.
I have many 6wide cars I never posted because of it.

Taking a picture in sunlight near a window on a plain background already really helps though. But when there's light outside i'm usually working.

Honestly I'd rather people post slightly crummy pictures ITT and spread the fun and show their mocs than if they didn't. I'm just the unholy blend of lazy and perfectionist to allow myself to do that.

Even if you might think your moc is silly or not good enough please don't hesitate to post it guys.

Really? I've found it harder and harder to find sellers that sell vintage, used parts. Most seem to just want to buy clearance sets and then part them out because otherwise, sorting, inspecting, storing and individually listing takes longer than what the piece is worth.

Know that feel, usually when I need something I'll browse around the rest of a store that has the necessary part, mostly for older minifig parts. A lot of stores are just piles of more recent parts and figs, all "NEW" cuz freshly parted out from bulk clearance purchases of course.

Every single brittle blue piece I've ever encountered has been discolored. Being discolored is a sign it's brittle. One thing you notice with them is when sticking them on another piece they're very difficult to stick on, and will often snap and break while sticking them on any other piece in the process.

It's like the polymer bonds break and the plastic lacks the ability to be elastic anymore like a normal brick should.

I have a display case filled with vintage lego and anytime people come over, they love looking at it and pointing out sets they had as a kid. Current fiance loved the 1990's western line and played with it with her brothers as a kid and freaked out when she saw the Fort Legoredo I have. Lego is a mainstream adult hobby now.

Those AT-OT kits are like $1k used. I know because I just sold mine for $900 a few weeks ago. The Republic Gunships are like $250-300+ each. Those Wookiee Attack droids are $60 each. ARC Starfighters are around $100-120 used. Those Clone Turbo Tanks are like $250 each used. AT-TEs are around $200.

That's at least 15k of kits sitting on the floor at current used values.

I was recently sorting technic parts from the rest of lego I have. I simply threw all the parts on the sofa, grabbed a handful of parts and picked away the technic ones. What was left in the hand was put in the box where the parts were previously stored. Then repeated it for hundreds of times. It takes time, but us efficent.

I just took my Uruk Hai figures out of storage to put on display and tried moving the joints on them and they fucking creak when I do so. They're made out of dark red and brown which were the two main brittle pieces during that era.

It's not like they're easy or cheap to replace either now.

LEGO seems to be really hit-and-miss with Ninjago figures sometimes. The lack of colouration on the teeth makes it look like a prototype unprinted mold. The Ninjago 2022 summer sets have a high price-to-piece ratio so people think the minifigures might be impressive or they have large pieces included or whatever. I hope the new variant of the snake-sorceress has head printing, and the skull-sorcerer actually has details on his face like in the show. Also the Oni minifigures didn't even have leg-printing which is just lazy. We really need a Legacy set with new Omega and Oni-Garmadon.

it's super common for the very small pieces. I've heard that the hoppers in the factory have minimum thresholds and the less a piece weighs the higher the chance of you getting an extra because they bake in a bit of margin for error. Heavier pieces are a lot easier for the hoppers to weigh accurately. I often get extra studs, rods, technic 1/2 pins and other stuff. I'm surprised there's an extra chain, I thought it would be heavy enough to not happen

Yea, those Vidiyo minifigs are extremely difficult to get into mechs. Pic related is the best I could do with the shark. I also made a mech for one of the tiger girls and getting her tail to fit was quite the chore.

Overall, I love your mech and can't wait to see it finished. The way you mounted the shoulder ball joint is very clever, and I'll probably steal that design for my next mech. I'm just not sold on the orange pieces in there. The break up the cohesiveness of the colors and come off a bit distracting. Still, quite the impressive mech.

Lego is the most retarded speculation though, it's dumber than crypto because you actually have to store all this shit for years just to in the best case double what you paid for it in the first place.

The days of sets going up like 5x in value are over. More lego is produced now than ever was even just a decade ago since they're now basically the largest toy company on earth with factories in nearly every continent.

Then I look at sold listings and you see shit selling for like $20-30 more than that, like for example the naboo starfighter from 2007. It's a shitty kit that has been outdated by 2 newer Naboo starfighters that are worth "more" on bricklink, yet on ebay I was able to sell mine for $60 each and there were kits being sold of it for $80 or more when I last checked from bidding.

It's always the bidders, they literally will pay $20 more just to outbid someone instead of just buying it from a seller like me. Makes no sense.

Honestly, just minor things:
