Got MoM Mr. Doctor from target yesterday. I like him a lot. Here he is with the kitbashed Strange I had using the original release body and the cape and head from the IW 3 pack. With those parts I didn't feel the need to get NWH Strange.

I believe the Thanos 3-pack version has the same cape they used for the NWH version. The NWH strange definitely has new arms, new head, and a new skirt, but I’m not sure if the legs are reused or not. I don’t own any of them unfortunately.

Covering their bases. It would be weird to have no toys for a mainline MCU film. Especially since Hasbro has already done a substantial portion of the "important" characters from both the MCU and comics, and is kinda starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel. We haven't hit rock bottom yet but we're getting there with some of those choices.

I think a big part of the problem was similar boring outfits too. Had they released an entire wave of Avengers time travel suits with one male body and one female body all with reused character heads I think it would have sat on the shelves too.

It was the 90s, they were hiring just about anyone back then, including dudes like this, who learned to draw by copying superheroes rather than actually learning traditional human anatomy. These people look like they're in agony, skeletons grossly malformed and organs missing. Beast's abs appear to be melting and/or trying to escape from his body. Even taking foreshortening into account, Cyclops' right leg is CRAZY short. The womens' spines are both broken, but this is par for the course for 90s T&A shit. The X-symbol on Rogue's belt should barely be visible at this angle. Sometimes she does have a loose belt where the logo hangs by the side, but this is clearly a tight cinched belt, and that pretty much always has the X sitting dead center. Sabertooth's shoulder blade is...doing something strange. And so on and so forth. The posing is oddly terrible too, if you look at them individually they're all doing really weird awkward shit. Beast is the only one whose pose looks semi-decent.

In the 90s, if you could fake the glossy superficial look, you could get away with a looooot of bullshit.

I always liked the look of Chamber's design. Don't know a thing about the character, but he seemed so emblematic of the late 90s, a brooding, sulky-looking hot guy that could have been right out of any of the alternative bands at the time, with a mouth and chest full of fire.

The villains were really cool too. I still have my Protector, it's a great sculpt with great colors.

None of the younger X-Men classes do. We’ve gotten some New Mutants, but most of them are in their X-Force looks or their modern costumes. Generation X, Academy X, Young X-Men, Wolverine and the legend of the strange little kids, not even one student has gotten made. I guess X-23 but it’s just strange that not even Armor or Monet has gotten a figure.

Hasbro's slowly moving later into the 90's, so if Maggott can get a figure I still have hope that Generation X will get some love.

What I find less likely is Academy X. Even Marvel doesn't seem to respect them, they've been hanging around as secondary characters for almost 20 years and they're still just treated as kids. I don't think any of them have gone on to become part of a genuine X-Team. New Mutants and Generation X have all gotten people on the main roster within a few years of being introduced (not counting Jubilee) but the mid-2000's students are all still just treated as students. Even Quentin Quire is still treated as this dumb asshole kid that needs to be babysat.

Thanks again for the suggestion anon. Came in today and I can't believe I didn't get this figure earlier. The accessories and head sculpt are amazing. I know some people might not prefer this look, but like I said this was how I remembered her looking like when I was a kid. Personally Jubilee could use some improvement.
Maybe raise storm up a tick so she stands out more.
Deadpool looks off in that squat pose, maybe make it look a little more dynamic.
And personally I like Wolverine being really squat and more feral looking. Maybe try having him look like he is a roaring position with his arms out, but again that is just preference.

I honestly am not the type of person to tell people they shouldn't pose something a certain way, since I am not the best at posing. So don't take these as attacks just suggestions, in the end all that matters is you like how they are posed.

I think I'm satisfied enough with him. I'm still struggling with Beast though. He's just so dynamic that I'm struggling to find a good, fun pose for him. Wish he had a more neutral head so I could have him reading a book or looking dapper.

It’s open to debate. Depending on the art you’re looking at, it can look white, silver, or black. Many consider it to be white, as the MvC2 game and animated tv show went with white for the most part. There’s an argument to be made that most “white” depictions are silver due to Jim Lee’s influence of black highlights on the costume.
The issue has a lot to do with shading. Taking a look at, say, McFarlane’s Venom vs Jim Lee’s Cyclops, they’re both basically black with blue highlights. Except Venom is most black, and Cyclops is mostly blue, but they’re still incredibly similar. It’s the same issue that led Spider-Man 2099 to be interpreted as blue instead of black, even though the first couple of issues basically color him the same way the black Symbiote costume was colored twenty years earlier.
Point being, it’s open to interpretation. Don’t get in a fight over something that literally hasn’t been proven. Sometimes it’s white, sometimes it’s silver.

They probably could but I think they wanted to change up Gobby and Electros designs to get them somewhat closer to the comics (or in Electros case, the 616 version).
I actually liked how the green goblin suit naturally progressed throught the film by accumulating damage until his jacket was nothing but a hood and a rag.
And seeing military pouches on the suit was neat since in the movie it was meant to ge used by the army.
I don't remember the purple parts though, maybe it was took dark to see or those are just added for promotional images.

I still can't decide if this looks good enough to upgrade. It does look good, but I don't really dig the Liefeld weapons, and my biggest issue with the first one (the head shape and size) is still present here, I don't really care for the silhouette or how Yamaguchi keeps sculpting in suggestions of the mouth and nose under the mask. It's a fun thing to do I guess, but give me at least ONE head where you have the distinctive 90s Joe Kelly smooth egg dome. And did we really need a repeat of the heart eyes? I'd have preferred something new.

I'd love it if anyone who owns both the old and new one could weigh in on whether the figure is actually more fun/easier to pose, cause the old one is already quite good.

Usually only the figure without the BAF piece if you are lucky are 2 per case if that.

But in general, they want the entire wave to sell out, NOT just the popular ones. So one per case each and maybe the one without a BAF gets a duplicate in the case.

I think I'm done collecting MLs and selling my entire collection. I've had a lot of ordered duds as of late with irritating paint mistakes and loose/cheap feeling joints right out of the box. These figures do not reflect what the prices are becoming. There are some figures from the past few years very dear to me such as the Super Skrull wave Doom and Walgreens Thing but I know I must let go.

I mean it's one thing to stop buying the line if you feel the quality is no longer worth the price, I'm in the same boat. I'm not paying $25 for a regular release. Luckily it seems most places other than BBTS have the newer waves "discounted" to $22. I snagged a few new pre-orders on Amazon with that price but I'm not holdijg my breath for them to come through because it's Amazon but no big deal if they're cancelled.

What I don't get is getting rid of figures you legitimately still enjoy just because you're done buying from the line. You can still enjoy the figures you have without buying new ones. Hell, I've completely dropped entire lines for various reasons but I still enjoy what I already have.

I’ll admittedly give them props for at least making the whole team outside of the 5-pack. Although Cull Obsidian puts the BAF versions to shame, and Proxima is pretty off for her skin tone, the rest are pretty comparable imo.
For Power Rangers, Hasbro released two of the Psycho Rangers as individual releases, and then the other three came in an Amazon exclusive five pack that sold out. Now there’s no way to get three members of the team.

I know that feeling all to well, got psycho blue at GS then turned around and managed to snag the LG red/psycho red and was eagerly waiting for the rest to drop in singles and doubles then BAM 5 pack exclusive where the paint apps ran the gauntlet of completely accurate to drunk Helen Keller with a paintbrush.
