Aside from scale, most of their recent toys are good. The only thing most are missing are waist swivels and ankles. Beachcomber and Brawn are some of the best Legend scale figures we ever got, meanwhile Windcharger's last two toys were meh (one was meant for MTMTE Tailgate, while the other had part issues), his last good attempt was the RTS. Gears desperately needs a new one since his last toy didn't look that accurate and was hard to get.

After having the boys for a day, I'd say Wheeljack is the weakest of the bunch, but only because he has the most noticeable flaws and Ratchet and Brawn really are just great figures. Transformers Robots in Disguise Ultra Magnus

A very big silly truck and I can never remember how the gun is supposed to be configured.
For maybe the second ever toy to bare the name Magnus returns as a car carrier.
This time with the added feature of actually looking like one.
All the ramp stuff woks and he is specifically sized right to carry the three Autobot brothers.

I can never get over the pure power of that chrome bumper. What a statement.
And Magnus uses it to smash into whatever is in his way atop 10 rubber tires.

Not much to say paint job wise here, most of what you see is solid plastic colours.
Just the tail and signal light around back to break things up.

Purists might be upset to know that Ultra Magnus partforms to get from one shape to the other.
But adult me is just happy to be able to do it. Kid me just couldn't manage to get the vehicle pegged back together for whatever reason.

As you can probably plainly see this sucker is all leg. He's like 80% legs.
He's also incredibly top heavy. Maybe one of the worst imbalances I've seen in a toy. Magnus' top has most of his mass, including the electronics and batteries.
His legs are two L shaped planks.
What I'm saying is that he's real wobbly. But doesn't fall down.

Neck, shoulders, and elbows are ball jointed. With the shoulder mount also on a swivels incase the ball joint wasn't enough swiveling.
Hips swivel forward and ratchet outward, thighs swivel at the connection, knees are ratcheted.
Magnus' wrists are ball jointed with thumb and finger joints.

Robot mode and tank mode look real good, but the jet mode looks like shit, I'd argue worse than TR's. And those big hands just look weird. Hulk hands are a bit weird, but a fun and welcome accessory (hope he pounds his fists together and his arms grow with red energon seeping up from within). Tank mode is great, but they could've had the cockpit sink in a bit more. Jet mode could've gone with hiding more of the tank under the wings. Seems robot mode is where he shines the most, and I'm fine with that.
Day one buy for me.

Well, I've never owned a Blitzwing, so it's going to either get this one or hunt down a Titans Return version with a latecomer fee. Well, that's a plus. Do we know both of those alt modes are transformed correctly, though? I can't help but think the cockpit in tank mode is supposed to retract a bit further back than that, and the tank kibble under the jet mode looks like it's supposed to slide in a bit more on each side. Also, not sure what to think about those hulk hands - was that something he was capable of doing in the original G1 cartoon? Do they stow away somewhere in vehicle mode?

It's a large part of it. Your thinking that he and Astrotrain were always headmasters suggests you got into collecting with Titans Return in 2017, which isn't a long time at all, couldn't have been much earlier either since Blitzwing was in generations as a non headmaster in 2013. You could well have been into the series longer, beast wars being your introduction, but just watching tv shows doesn't make you a non casual.

Not feeling the new Blizwing. I like the robot mode, but the tank having the a chunk of the jet poke out so much (I know it's "accurate", but it shouldn't be that noticable) and how badly the store the kibble below the plane mode, the price tag and those awful fists. It'd be my third, I've still got the Classics one kicking around the bottom of a box somewhere with the old Astrotrain. TR might not be the best, some of the bits don't quite snap together for the altmodes on mine, but it still looks pretty cool in all three modes. A big $50 one would be sweet though, he better have a wide wingspan and a beefy truck mode for that cost.
