Are we slowly entering another dark age of Marvel Legends similar to early Hasbro, Y-hips ball joint days?

Seems like Hasbro is getting lazier and lazier. Classic repacks, nostalgia baits, hard-to-get exclusive 2 packs (including one highly sought collector bait and one total repack), bottom barrel D-list literal whos, smaller (less impressive) BAFs, etc.

I feel like it's been a long while since I'm legitimately interested in 6 out of 8 characters in an honest BAF wave and I consider myself having wide range of taste in Marvel capeshit universe (from mutant melodrama to scifi GoTG starwars comic ripoff)

Definitely feels that way, but in a more improved sense. I wouldn't say it'll be as bad as ROML Hasbro era, but I agree that it definitely has been declining. I think it was Dan Yun that said in an interview that 'what you guys don't see is that we have to do wave planning for an entire year of legends' (i forgot the exact quote) so some stuff seems corner-cut and other stuff is great. And it certainly seems that way. There always seems to be one or two figures out of every wave that are great (Beast, Modular IM and Ultron, Zombie Cap, etc) while the rest are mostly meh unless you really care about the characters.
I've always said this but I think Legends really started to hit their stride when the 80th stuff started to come out. And I feel like since then, their quality has declined because they know fans'll buy it because I mean who tf else is making a figure of Sleepwalker (fuck you Hasbro for putting him on the Buckycap mold i'll never forgive you for that). I also feel like they're trying to capture that 80th lightning in a bottle again with the 20th line. And yeah, their offerings are decent; paint, accessories, classic characters but they fall short because unlike the 80th releases, they're all molds we've seen before. On the 80th releases, no less.

Sorry for the long winded response, I've been a ML collector since Toybiz and it's sad to see that this is what the brand has become.

Is anyone -actually- excited for any figure from the Controller wave? I can kind of get half-excited for USAgent and Speedball, but both seem phoned in. I mean he comes with nothing. Throw in some kinetic field effect pieces or something.

I'd like to see ML start coming with alternate portraits. Or hell, do head packs like MOTUC. I need more than just smirking Speedball or stoic USAgent. Give us scared, intrigued, excited, exasperated, laughing, head sculpts. Everything out thus far, while varied, just seems too "safe". Like yeah you want the most general headsculpt to spash into any pose/situation i get it but it contributes to the soullessness of the line

Yes but I don't think it will ever get as bad as it was in those days. The problem with Legends these days is all the MCU figures, there's no creativity. Hasbro just copy what concept material they're given and use a face scan and they're done. That lack of creativity in the MCU figures translates to lack of effort in the comic figures, so we get an endless stream of blank bodies with different paint apps.

Not that anon, but the whole argument is silly to me. I bought the Selects Hulk because at the time it was the only real option besides aftermarket prices for the 80th Hulk. I don't mind him being a good bit bigger than the ML's and he poses well enough for anything I'd use him for. My main gripe is the lack of a closed mouth head which I could fix by just fiddling with the head he comes with. If I ever get sick of this Hulk I'll pick up some other one down the line when he comes out, or maybe grab the 20th if I see him in store. Though I'm not too fond of the 20th anniversary Hulk heads.

Different anon here, but you are the exception, not the rule. I got a broken figure, sent it back to Hasbro, got a different figure and it was defective too! Told them a third time, and politely asked if they could maybe send me one of three choices from that wave, since I'd already bought like half of it. They said they'd try, and then sent me a dupe of what I already owned.

A multibillion dollar company can't even be fucked to try to send the correct figure from a run that's currently in production. Fucking ridiculous.

I've had no real complaints in the past. I bought the Luke Cage 2-pack on clearance at Wal-Mart back when it was still a relatively new release and found it had been broken in some kind of bad custom attempt, so they replaced it with the Ghost Rider set with the bike. I had some issues with a few Lightning Collection figures and they sent me a Zeo Green, plus MMPR Green and White Ranger to make up for it. I already had the two MMPR Rangers, but I was at least able to sell them.

This is no surprise. 90% of AoA Magneto was accurate to the 616 costume. But he looks good. I think the dark face is a little weird since you can still see his nose and stuff. But the effects are really neat. Definitely worth considering since the 3-pack Legends one is so expensive, and the cape sucks.

Are you blissfully ignorant or just dumb? The US was fuel independent under the previous administration for the first time in decades. But then the very first thing Sleepy Joe does is shut down the Keystone Pipeline making us dependent on Saudi Arabia and Russia for fuel once again. But oopsie, the Saudis are now going to be trading gas only in the yuan and Russia is refusing to sell gas in anything but the ruble (lol). The US dollar is going to become worthless.

I'm not saying the situation in Europe isn't causing the spikes in gas prices. But if we didn't have to rely on other countries for fuel. We wouldn't be feeling it as hard here. Hell, the global situation could've been beneficial by allowing the US to export gas at more competitive prices.

But God forbid we do that. You voted for this.

the keystone XL decision was to veto a massive extension of an existing pipeline, the original pipeline itself still exists. the decision is ultimately not relevant anyway as much of the crude oil was meant for export and the oil industry had already started divesting itself of expensive tar sands oil that the pipeline was meant to transport and that started before biden was elected.

Regardless, King Sphinx was regard as a total shitter, and Zeo Megazord was seen as significantly overpriced for the fact that you dont even get any transformations/separate Zords.
