I buy a lot and it's best to go by a case to case basis. Watch some reviews before you buy. Lots of these companies make 1 or 2 figures then go silent for a while.
Some companies like crazyfigure and Lim Toys prove their worth while other companies release poorly tailored things with fragile bootlegged threea bodies. I can attest to Inkblot being pretty good, though.

I think filix toys doing 4 heads was a good call. Stitching on masks that small has always been poor. It usually results in a fat seemline running down the back with an awkward point at the top.

That figure is one to watch to try to actually tell if kids buy figures or not still. That figure easily appeals to kids as a "big smashy cool giant Joker" but absolutely not to collectors because it's ugly as fuck and painted poorly. If it pegwarms, kids no longer buy figures. If it sells, kids are buying it.

Was this figure ever actually released? It was up for preorder for less than a day in February and supposed to ship like March 6th but naturally Walmart canceled my preorder. I see literally zero evidence of it for sale on ebay except 1 UK seller.

I wouldn't have wanted this as a kid. I wanted either the "normal" versions of characters or cool stylish versions.

None of the Todd figures really do a good job of selling the kind of things I wanted as a kid though. I remember going to the store specifically for this Mad Hatter toy because I wanted his rabbit. None of the Todd figures come with cool accessories.

The only Todd toys I had as a kid were the original Spawn, Angela, and this big blue cyber-cat monster. The rest of his toys just didn't appeal to me at all, and the current line mostly leans into the aesthetic those toys did.

The only team Todd could actually crush. Cyborg was amazing, and I bet those 2 would be great. But my man Beast Biy is ripe for alternates. I know little to nothing about DC but I quite like these. I think they're my favorite things I've gotten all year. I got Martian Manhunter cause New Frontier is one of the few comics I've read and I loved it and Martian Manhunter was my favorite character in it. I know it doesn't look like how he did in that comic but still I dig him. I only got the Superman cause I needed to add something to get free shipping and the thought of a heavy metal Superman was so silly to me and he was discounted so I thought he'd make a good friend. In my headcanon he's Martian Manhunter's dumbass himbo teenaged son that he loves anyway.

I don't really collect much superhero stuff but I vastly prefer these to the few Marvel legends I have. I like how bulky they are, that they come with a stand, and that the sculpts have a lot more life and personality to them than the Marvel stuff. I think I'll get a Batman and make a really mismatched Justice League. I think that'd be more visually appealing than getting a more uniform looking team of them in their basic costumes.

I'm entirely in favor of headcanoning figures for your desk. I've got that Superman Unchained figure on my desk as Batman Beyond's superman counterpart, some dude with power armor that's designed to operate fusion reactors so it's really ridiculously tough and strong, with a huge-ass jetpack.

I also picked up this guy, the Marauder from Doom I think? He's one of their special releases where he's all bronzed up, which is a damn sight more usable to me than all primer gray. Maybe if I were a painter I'd feel the opposite? I don't care, the bronze marauder one reminds me of Magog from Kingdom Come so I bought him to be an Elseworlds version of him. Also picked up that Fortnite Lynx figure to serve as a Catwoman Beyond, I think since she's a robot she's probably a real person using telepresence but with the catgirl and a voice changer there's no real way for anyone to tell who she actually is, or even if she's a she. Call her the Catfish.

Also, gray is better than bronze/gold/etc, because those stupid awards they give out makes all those colors look gaudy as fuck. The 90s boom in limited editions helped in making it look worse.
Gray is more like classical (and i don't mean Roman ones, which were painted) statues, which is infinitely classier, and yeah, it makes painting them a hundred times easier. Covering metallic colors is a bitch.

I found this guy w/o acessories (2x Batarangs and one smoke grenade) for 35 USD.

From DCUC line it's my favorite Batman. The blue one is horrible and the black n gray has no appealing to me.

Is it still worth to get it? I haven't read or watch Young Justice, but it's my fav Batman from the line.

The only good thing about DC Multiverse is that large characters, such as Ultra-Humanite, Gorilla Grodd, etc will look aesthetically good next to classic lines, such as DC Icons and DC Universe Classics.
Something happened in the Marvel side with Marvel Select and the smaller Marvel Legends. Characters such as Juggernaut and Hulk Select looks good next to Legends.But Marvel still sucks dick.

Probably a weird nitpick, but my eight year old self would probably think this toy packaging came from some bleak dystopian corporate future. Look how bland it is, there's just zero excitement to it, no personality, and you can just slide a new name into the template, boom, done in ten seconds.

I think exciting packaging is what I miss most about 90s toys. Very few toys have exciting packaging anymore.

That said, McFarlane Toy packaging is pre-90s. Most toys had pretty boring packaging back then and/or bad art. Only a few lines had great packages back then, like GI Joe and He-Man.
Also, 90s packaging is mostly shit that's extremely busy. Best time for packaging was 00s and 10s.

Probably the only thing going for pre-00s packaging is all the ad space to show off the other toys in the line. Sometimes you got to see an entire year's worth of toys in the back of the box/card to look forward to, if not half the year.

I would assume McFarlane will make one eventually, but it's really mindboggling how this design has never gotten much attention.

I've always wondered how much of the "villains don't sell" thing is a self fulfilling prophecy.
Companies believe villains don't sell so they either dont make them or make less of them compared to the heroes so when the sales numbers come in it's in favour of the hero side.

I'm trying to figure out which figure I want as my Croc on my Batman shelf, what do you anons think? Going off of their listed sizes this is how big I think they'll be next to my current Batman and Joker.
The Hunter Crocker in the image is a edit to see what the BBTS version would look like with the originals clothes, I'm not sure if I'll keep the vest on him but I'll ditch the hat most likely.
I do like the but hulking Killer Croc design from the arkham games but something feels off about the McFarlane figure colour wise to me, and though I like Croc to be big I'm not sure I want him to be bigger than Clayface who I'm still waiting to get in hand so I can see how big he is next to Mafex figures.

Some reviewers do it, sure, but it never seems to be the ones reviewing the figures I'd like to know about.
Most settle for size comparisons, which is fine if you own one the figures being used but if you don't you have to cross reference it with other information.
It also doesn't help that I'm a dumbass who can't gauge size well.
Also some reviewers do have clayface, Toyshiz and a few smaller ones.

DC Multiverse is all one SKU whereas Marvel Legends is divided up into several depending on the property. This has been a thing with MLs for years. Makes tracking them on places like Brick Seek a bit easier if you know which SKU to look for.

Marvel Legends have been around for two decades meanwhile the Multiverse line as we know it is still relatively young, especially when it transitioned from Mattel to McFarlane, two different scales. People are gonna be looking up older figures and see what's there relating to stuff like the MCU, so of course there will be more searches.
About his third point, he clearly has a Marvel Legends bias and makes content to appeal to that crowd, so of course he'll sell more of those on his store. There's also to consider that McFarlane figs go on sale often, so there's no reason to buy them full priced off these niche hobby stores.
As for the other two, I can't really comment as I don't know much about the subject matter.

Lol yes, I usually don't display Funko stuff but they help prop the comics up and and they work with the stand.
Been thinking of moving my OG Knightfall bane down with my tiny DC icons Batman but I'm too scared of it falling or something
