Is this when everyone suddenly says they've always loved Moon Knight? I've read at least 500 Marvel comics and can only recall the time he teamed up with Spider-man and Black Panther in the early 90's to fight Kingpin and Ultron.

I'm hoping the hood and the cape are separate pieces. I know folks here don't like soft capes and I get it, but I like the increase in mobility they give. If the hood isn't attached I can just grab any ol' wired cloth gray cape off of ebay and swap it. If it is attached I'll just deal with it or cut the cape off or something.

Moon Knight had a couple of good runs in the 80s/90s and was actually pretty popular in the 00s, with /co/ almost universally loving that run. Then he had another popular run that was well received, but i havent bothered to get it yet.

I personally didn/t care for him in the 80s or 90s, and wasn't until the 00 run that i started giving a shit, and then looking through $1 bins to find what else was good by him.
i knew about pic related thanks to Wizard in the 90s hyping it up, and its hunting for back issues that i appreciated it.

He had a really solid run around 2014 or so that shouldn't be too hard to find online. Rotated through a few writers, had great art, and it works as a decent intro to the character.

I was trying to look for some scenes of her as Madam Hydra but fuck it, this is one of the best scenes in that whole block of the show so that's what you get.

I notice they also did a toy of Quake but it's just the comics version. If you did a slightly more asian looking one with long hair you could have a Daisy Johnson toy in a snap. Plug the head onto one of those Mary Jame figures and you've got a Skye action figure to lay around your display generally wasting space and being fucking annoying.

Shit sucks dude, Moon Knight is a great character and pretty much every collected trade in print right now is excellent. I even enjoyed the Bendis run.
I keep missing his figures, I have the old Marvel Legend that was from... I think it was MODOK BaF? Or Mojo? Anyway that shit is kicking around somewhere but I'd love something else.

Wish I had gotten that One:12 Moon Knight.

I'm an actual casual, I read a shitton of the comics just last year for the first time, and even I feel I know him better than most fakers on this website.

Moon Knight has a ton of great comic runs, more than people give him credit. His '79 backdoor-pilot comic issues and his original early-80s comic run are great, if you like comics from that era/don't see their writing as dated. Personally I love them and the tone they have, very Batman-y noire feeling (fitting since the creator, Doug Moench, actually went to write Batman immediately after this lol). He also wrote a couple mini-runs in the late-90s, which if you're gonna read anything by Moench, read that - they're fantastic, and don't suffer as much from late70s/early80s overly-expository comic writing. The art is fantastic and mood as good as ever.
Havent read the Marc Spector: Moon Knight run, so form your own opinion ofc, but it's berated pretty bad as an awful run by fans. Again, I wouldn't actually know myself yet.
Many people are big fans of the 2006 run, but personally it wasn't for me; very cynical and obsessed with being edgy for the sake of edginess. For example, they retconned Marc's partner Frenchie into being gay for the sole purpose of making Marc look like an even worse person for treating him like shit, and none of the future comics ever figured out what to do with Frenchie afterwards really. Give it a try, you might enjoy it more than I.

Most obvious recommendations are the first six 2014 issues by Warren Ellis, and the 2016 Lemire run - if you want a taste of the character, try these out and maybe the late90s Moench mini-runs.

As for other notable runs, I found I enjoyed the Max Bemis run a bit; it's not perfect, but if you wanna see something lighthearted/goofy in tone out of MK, it's not too poor an experiment.
People also are praising the current run a lot, but I haven't gotten to it yet myself, so maybe try it out.

While there are going to be some bandwagon fans, I think he’s been fairly popular on/co/ for almost a decade at least. I was first introduced to him during the civil war event in 2006. I loved his design and at that time his powers were interesting. I think he became stronger the more the moon waxed.

I then started really liking him during the I think marvel now run where they introduced MR. Knight. That series then evolved into him fighting more supernatural threats which was awesome.

I’m happy he is finally getting some love. I am unhappy that his suit is essentially a symbiote though. Also on the fence about Steven, kind of wish Marc was the driver for the show. Seems like a lazy way to introduce us the audience to Moonknight by having Steven just as confused. Like it works for 2 episodes but after that I see it dragging on.

Looking back at stuff from the trailers, the tv series will most likely change the main character each episode and go back a little bit, to see how things played out when we didn't see them in the previous episode, i.e. second episode should show us a fair bit of Marc's fights with the cult and then make some progress on top of that. I can see this back and forth going for at least thee episodes.

I used to teach High School Social Studies, and when that unit came up there was always 1 or 2 Turkish students. I honestly didn't realize to what extent the Turks believe this didn't happen. I would get letters from their parents threatening my job if I taught that it happened. Eventually the board told me not to teach the unit THAT WAS REQUIRED BY THE STATE.

My last year before I switched careers I taught the fucking unit and I told the Turkish student we can do a debate, and students can choose if the side they want before we even get to the actual unit.Of course he, and I think maybe one other student were the only ones against it happening. But he got wrecked the fuck out by a bunch of 16 year olds, and I just sat back and watched him with his 1 source of not even actual evidence. I tried to be as fair as I could but he didn't even do fucking research. Parents got pissed, I was done with all the bullshit red tape and I left my basically minimum wage job and now make 3x as much for half as much work.

Sorry for blog post but every time I hear the Armenian Genocide I can't help but think of that being the last straw for me switching careers. I miss actual teaching but not everything else about the job. Especially the dumbass parents.

I’d love it if history classes could cover different material but censoring these events seems to be the goal for people defunding public schools, so for every one of us who has read Night ten times, there’s some asshole who denies the whole thing even existed. But stuff like the Armenian genocide, or Apartheid, or even current day Israel’s treatment of Palestinians should really be covered in class.

As for “Nemesis”, the ADL made a fuss when he was introduced in the comics as Holocaust. They changed his name to make it more amenable. His action figure was called “Dark Nemesis” for some reason. In general they just stick to Nemesis for toys and he died in the comics a while ago. Technically, it was his AoA version, and his 616 version is called Genocide, which I guess isn’t much better but he doesn’t have any toys.

Every artist want to put something of their own, it's a mix of vanity, self promotion and also to create a different look so the brand can be split apart. It's not just the concept artist but everyone involved wanting to make their own version of the character which I understand, comic book artists do the same, every run has it's own new writer that ignores the preview stories and the new artist that creates a new costume in hopes it will catch. Sometimes works, sometimes not. I am happy this is very faithful to the original comics, they could have been so much worse. Also they look great in live action.

Its a shame they never did an actual proper AoS set with Coulson, May and Quake. Quake is getting a new figure but its comics one.

FitzSimmons would have been cool as two pack or something.

Since it didn't appear we got one for the 10th anniversary of the MCU i think our next bet will to see if Disney does anything with the tv show characters. Daisy has been rumored to be in Secret Wars forever but who knows.

I think that anon should keep that in mind, too. In a comic book a fully white suit with next to no details works. It looks a bit jarring compared to the rest of the colored in bits but it's supposed to. In live action an entire white suit already sticks out and if it was insanely flat with nothing to give it some depth it would look wrong. White Vision for instance looked bad to me. He just stuck out in the wrong way. In comparison this Mr. Knight looks a lot better even though they're both basically meant to be flat white colored characters.

Personally, I found white Vision just accentuated why all the extraneous detail looks bad on regular Vision. Though the unpleasant off-white color they used for accent didn't do him any favors.

Absent any subjective opinions about MCU styling, different lights and materials are just going to handle different whites differently. Moon Knight's softer costumes are going to be more forgiving, and look how often his mood is established in deliberate high-contrast lighting with pleasant color balance vs white Vision, who just shuffles grossly between shots that don't help him at all. I'd have preferred a plain suit but I'm happy Moon Knight looks good.

You also have to consider, I mean, people wear plain white suits in movies and TV all the time, man.

Time for my dusty poselet display. I think this is my completed Avengers, until a better version of someone comes out. I was never the biggest fan of the Quicksilver design that goes with this and Black Panther is on his own display with a graded comic that my brother gifted me which appears to have the Avengers telling BP to go back to Africa?

I have a villains shelf below them, but it only has Thanos, Red Skull, Ultron and Loki. Not sure who else I wanna add down there. Maybe a Kang if the price is good.

Also, both of these shelves get bumped once a day, hence all the stands. Villain shelf below them just has Magneto, Juggernaut and Mystique. Planning on getting Sinister, Apocolypse, Omega Red and Sabretooth.

Consider some more dynamic posing. The ones yours are in are kinda boring honestly. You have somewhat limited space but you've got the right idea with the stands. Just tweak the poses to be more dynamic. Look at other people's displays oof comic art for inspiration if you need to.

I did. I just found that Marvel Legends had a better character selection, and just look better overall at least compared to a lot of those older ones I got back in the day. I still have a bunch of them but I don't think anyone is going to really want those old figures.

Kinda depends.
The Juggernaut one is okay, in that it’s light blue and spiky like his modern look, but it’s also on the pizza Spidey body, very gummy, and extremely prone to having the hips break.
The retro one is considerably more solid, and it’s the 2099 mold. But most people hate the head sculpt and the color is more silver-pearly white than it is snow colored. He’s translucent enough that a paint job can fix it though, if you customize.
Lastly there’s the AoA one. If you like iceman spiky, he’s a good choice, and despite being translucent his mold is very solid. However, being AoA he’s lacking a mouth, and the figure happens to be borderline electric blue.

So they all have their drawbacks. I just grabbed the Retro one and I plan to paint it more of a light blue at some point.

It's growing on me for sure. I haven't gotten an ML from Amy of the Disney+ shoes and while I plan on getting Mr. Knight regardless, I may end up getting this version too. I haven't watch ep 2 yet so it depends how much I enjoy the show, but the first episode was the most compelling of all the Disney+ shows so far imo.

The only thing I asked was why would an obviously cheap bargain bin toy be labeled as deluxe, that's it. It's not even a marketing thing because the toy package doesn't call it deluxe, just the shipping box. I am surprised a random curiosity got you this worked up. I don't even resell toys.
